- This week recovering from illness and bee stings, we potter about in the violin shop! There is a Freddie Chat, an interesting anecdote, and an Hebrew Minute. Enjoy!
Background virtual music was graciously created by Thomas Pinch.

You are a treasure. 😊
Thank you for your kindness! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
be safe those bees are definitely a lot of work
Thank you for your kindness! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
It's still the Steenson family - we just got a new logo and name. We enjoyed the episode very much. I'm sorry you have had a cold. I am recovering from one myself. I hope you recover from the cold and the bee stings, and that your father recovers from the cataract surgery. The Hebrew minute was from Psalm 83.
Thank you again for the wonderful episode!
James Austin Steenson
Hi Steensons. Thanks for telling me! Congratulations on your new logo and name! I hope you feel better soon. You got the Hebrew Minute! Congratulations! Thank you for commenting. I really appreciate it. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
To lose a precious violin that you perform with. What a schock! Good thing that heaven is close.
Amen! It must have been very disheartening! But God sees it all and will make amends!!! Thank you for commenting and hope you have a great week!
Always enjoy your videos. As for the verse, Tehillim 83:19. (One verse difference for those with a Protestant/Catholic text). תודה רבה
Thank you so much for commenting and for finding the Hebrew Minute! Shalom!!!
I don’t normally trust the sound on video channels, or the audio reproduction of my tablet. There are simply too many variables. However the improvement of the 1700s violin sound is beyond doubt, particularly in the lower register. It has a deep, haunting tone. The lucky owner should be astonished at the result of your work. Hopefully you will get some feedback that you can share.
Yes, you are so right and the fact that I record on a simple video camera, you never know! I appreciate your feedback. Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
I am so grateful that you and your father recovered from the bee stings. Glory be to God
Thank you, Paris! Amen! I hop you have a wonderful week ahead!
If only Spohr had taken the violin case with him inside the coach! Had to check the spelling of his name, and found that he was the first to use a chin rest. Oh Freddie - it's while they're snoring that you go snooping around!? Cheryl, you are one of the hardest working people ever, so I hope the unscheduled week off helped to get all your molecules re-aligned and back to singing again. Violin sounds beautiful. Shalom.
Yes! You made me chuckle. I loved all your comments. I will have to keep a better eye on Freddie and a week off was a very nice vacation. I found I was able to tidy up a bit here and there and feel a sense of relief! I definitely did feel those molecules realigning!!! Thank you! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
@@Violinsforu2 Freddie may outgrow his mischievous phase? Then again, our dog is seven, way past the naughty puppy stage, and if we so much as blink, he runs off with the socks, the toilet roll...
@@isaiah45.3 You know Freddie! He is even up to something this week! He is a-planning!
@@Violinsforu2 Fantastic! Will ask Andrew to watch. It's hard waiting.
Happy to hear of your recoveries from all those bee stings and cold! What brand of strings are on the 1700’s violin?
Yes! God is good. The violin strings were Tonica with a Gold E. Thank you for commenting and hope you have a great week!
@@Violinsforu2 Do owners typically request certain brands of string, or do you recommend them? It seems like a lot of new instruments come with Tonicas now. In my day it was Dominants. Advancing students would cure screechy E strings by going to a gold plated (not just gold label) E. (I’ve been out of the loop for some time on these matters.)
@@markuswx1322 Dominants were always my go to strings and still are especially if the customer wants full volume. Now since strings have become so expensive, I have been using Tonica and Prorate more often. Tonica came out with an improved string and offers the Gold E in the set. Not only is the tone a bit sweeter but it is kinder to the pocketbook. Sometimes the owners will send along the strings that they want used, otherwise, I will recommend dependent on the instrument and the budget. Thanks for asking!
Bees are not normally violently aggressive. What caused the incident?
The cause of the incident started when the wind blew the beehive over. Not thinking, I threw on my coat and ran out to set it up. I should have put my bee gear on. Thanks for asking and hope you have a wonderful week!
Thank you for posting as usual, even though you have not been feeling well. The 1700s violin sounds beautiful - you are right not to approve of silent violins in glass cases!
Thank you, Mr Pinch! Thank you for commenting. I appreciate it very much. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
Glad you are both doing better. See you at the BIG 200th! Stupidicus.
Thank you Tim! Yes! See you soon!!!
