I saw a spooky face in the trailer and got a fright, I immediately realised it was my reflection on the screen of my phone
10/10
I literally just did the same thing!!! And almost shit my pants at work
LOL!
same
🤣🤣🤣😫🤣😫Ives done that before too
This is surprisingly accurate to what it's like being a kid in a creepy dark house. There's an atmosphere unlike any other
It's AWESOME!!! You're right. It's like the reviewer says -- "A film like this comes along once in a generation." Too true! It's this generation's "Eraserhead," which is about parenting, ha-ha, and it's attendant fears & problems ... and *this* is about childhood, itself! Both are long-form experimental films, too. David Lynch *still* hasn't explained where he got the baby from, BTW. 🤔 STILL.
Yes! The grain makes me feel how I feel after I first wake ⏰️ up from a surreal nightmare!
I hear that bud, as a kid my room was at the end ot the hallway and my room had a big window behind me and a closet right infront of the door, at the end of the hall there was a bathroom that imited blue light, even if I made it past all that the living room was connected to the backyard patio which you could see total darkness outside from the glass door, the basement, front door and the garage which had the attic were situated behind me so to my infront of me I have my hallway imiting that ominous light and the kitchen which also connects to the backyard, to my right I have the same view of the back of my house in total darkness, and behind me lurked two of the scariest places in the house, anywhere I went I felt vulnerable, I used to have night terrors so bad my family said I kept trying to escape the house in my sleep, screaming.
i remember as a kid being terrified and always feeling uneasy at my uncles old condo never knowing why. and then once i got older i remember telling my mom about how the condo was always creepy and thats when she told me some guy hung himself in that condo before my uncle got it 😭😭
Yea, if you’re a wimp
This movie was made for people who experienced intense fear when they were kids. They managed to recreate the absolute horror of empty houses and your child brain using its full creative power to imagine horrible things that may be there. If you found it boring, you were not that kid.
The toys and the furniture… to me personally those small changes from the beginning signified the distortion of changes in the children… the kids were trying to cope with their abuse and fear.. so subliminally they saw these changes take place which was otherworldly to us because we didn’t see beneath.. which is some of the true terror that comes with.. the empty house
I was never that kid and yet itz still the scariest shit...
Not true
I guess I was not that kid
I was that kid and I still thought this movie was trash lol
Good trailer though
One of my favorite parts of this trailer is how it subverts your expectations (whether or not that was intentional) it recreates most horror movie trailers with a deep voice reading off lines
Like “In this house…” after that you’d expect him to say “Fear takes hold…” or some cheesy line but instead he just repeats “In this house” as if the trailer itself has been corrupted as the voice is distorted repeatedly
I honestly love that, I hope I can do the same with my films.
Or they literally couldn't gather wits sufficient to finish the thought. After seeing the movie, this is probably the case.
No shit bro 😅

IN THIS HOUSE
This film perfectly captures that feeling that you get when you’re home alone, especially as a child. That, even if it seems it’s only you in the dark, you always have that feeling that you are not alone when you look in the pitch black.
your comment gave me chills, holyyyy 😮💨
This reminds me of one time I spent a couple nights in an empty house. With all the furniture gone, sound would reverberate much more through the house. Every time I got up and walked somewhere, it sounded like someone else was walking through the house at the same time.
Just imagine it being daylight. It because of the abuse and trauma-it is still a dark and empty hell
Best ceiling, doorframe, carpet and lego slideshow ever made.

In this house.
Just saw this film.
My suggestions to anyone wanting to watch it; if you’re looking to have the best experience with the film, watch it alone or with people that don’t talk during movies. If you don’t it may spoil it’s highly unique atmosphere designed to draw you in through vivid imagery and sound design.
Be patient with this film. It is not your typical formulaic setup. It is much like how the trailer presents it, but a much longer and more suspenseful and tense version.
I can’t say I’d recommend this to many people, it’s kind of a thing where you just have to try it for yourself and see how it makes you feel.
Thanks for this. Gonna check this out this week with one other person. Definitely getting experimental horror vibe from this trailer.
The final scene of the movie genuinely made me physically feel chills upon my skin. But it all depends if you have a good attention span, have good imagination, and are able to let yourself get lost in a movie
As a person who has watched (and enjoyed) movies such as Kuso, Rubber, Beyond the Black Rainbow and Lost Highway, that makes me want to watch it even more. I am a huge fan of weird, avant-garde horror that uses atmosphere and tone, so this sounds like my kind of deal. Thanks for the spoiler-free synopsis.
I assume people who like slow burning, elevated horror will enjoy and appreciate it. Whereas people who think “Annabell” and “the conjuring” are scary will not like it.
Movie was cool but should have been a 30 minute (at most) short, demands way too much from the viewer with such a long run time imo. So many good things in it overshadowed by the clear padding to hit feature length and terrible (and painfully loud) jump scares that are so incredibly out of place for a film so clearly devoted to creating an interesting atmosphere
This looks like every night I come home from work. My kids not asleep, their toys all over the house and the tv left on wasting electricity. Truly terrifying stuff.
This is so scary for u😭😭😭
😂😂😂😂😂omg
Are you Pee Wee Herman?
And that's why I'm childfree 😌

This trailer really nails the feeling of "fucked up disjointed nightmare that makes you wake up in a cold sweat."
I've had nightmares like this before and they have always genuinely terrified me. It's like that instinctual fear in the pit of your stomach that's really hard to describe
I couldn't agree more with this. 🫠
100% it's the nightmares you remember forever. I still remember a few handfuls of nightmares from my childhood 30+ years ago.

I’m watching the trailer thinking it is some weird asmr thing
FYI- the voice that says “In This House” is the voice of William Peter Blatty, the author and screenwriter of the Exorcist and Legion. Also, that track is taken from the original (banned) exorcist trailer… love that detail
i was just about to say i thought i recognized that voice haha!!
Is that why the last 'In this house....." sounds exactly like the demon aka Mercedes McCambridge! :) I love that detail.
I love the Exorcist and knew immediately when the 3rd “in this house” was said that there had to be a connection. Where did you get this info? I love finding all these kinds of details about a movie
@@katiebird3534 I connected the correlation after I listened to The Exorcist audiobook, which Blatty read. His voice was stuck in my head and then it was crystal clear when I watched the Skinamarink trailer. Furthermore, I own the blu ray of The Exorcist which has a special bonus playlist featuring the banned 1973 trailer, and I think my mind subconsciously connected the three together. I love stuff like that too! Big shoutout to IFC films for creating this trailer!
@@katiebird3534 Hi! I got a bit of the information from one of the horror-groups I belong to on Facebook & the other I actually suspected myself....just by that 'familiar demon' voice & then looked it up. I love The Exorcist & Skinamarink too. Have you seen the short-film that was a 'precursor' to Skinamarink? Its called Heck.
I don't remember the last time I wanted to cover my eyes watching a horror movie. I was practically begging this movie to end because I didn't want to experience the horror and the tension anymore. The relief I felt when it ended was palpable.
Bro, that was my exact feeling. Never, ever in my life have I been more scared in my life. I swear it lasts 1 hour and a half but it felt like 3 hrs. Dreading. It is an absolute masterpiece.
You could’ve just put the phone down.
Same here!! I’m not a horror lightweight by any means, as I’ve been watching them consistently since I was like 11. But this movie had me with my blanket up to my eyes by the end, in absolute fear of what was to come next. I will never forget the night I watched this haha it’s not for everybody, but the people who get it it leaves a lasting impression on!
Oh shut the hell up, drama queen lol
Glad I’m not the only one lol I’ll admit, I lowered the volume at the very end - the long-shot last scene was just waaay too tense
I never get scared by horror films but this one DEFINITELY got me. Silence, scary noises and darkness. I really like that they use darkness to mess with you. Since the mind can play tricks when in the dark
so there are no jump scares? i just want to feel scared, not get a heart attack or something 🤧

As someone who has dealt with weekly nightmares and sleep paralysis this film absolutely got me. Trying to sleep that night was incredibly difficult. Probably not a film for everyone, but definitely well made and spooky as hell if this is a semi common thing you deal with.
why would u want to watch this if u have sleep paralysis and nightmares often 😂
@@leog0659 I enjoy horror films, and this one’s topic peaked my interest. Seeing a director make a film based off of my nearly constant terrors was highly interesting.
Damn my sleep paralysis is scary af. Have you ever had shit happen after breaking free? I have once and it makes me truly hope it never happens again
@Matthew Manney what do you mean had stuff happen after? Like what kind of stuff? I suffer from this a lot.
@JayEmVeeKay So I woke up into sleep paralysis, and I could hear someone walking in the other room. I considered maybe it was my mom but quickly it dawned on me I live alone and NOBODY should be in my home. Personally I believe in God so I trusted that nothing could harm me and waited for it to come into my room. I was still frozen sleeping on the floor (hard times) and a black cloaked figure approached me from the door slow and menacingly. It knelt beside me and reached forward just in time for me to break free of sleep paralysis. I bursted up and threw a fist as it dissipated into thin air and I felt relief for a moment. I stood up to close the door since the hallway outside was dark and unsettling and suddenly my tv came on in the other room casting a bright light in the hall. Simultaneously loud distorted "music" started blaring from my tv. Since I live in an apartment I ran into my other room to turn down the volume but as I made the corner it was silent and my tv was on the vizio homescreen. Needless to say I did not sleep again that night especially considering it was within 20 minutes of 3am. It wasn't my worst sleep paralysis experience but the after part was enough to make me extremely uncomfortable in my own home for a few weeks.
What happens to you? I'm really curious
I like that theres no monsters in this trailer, just creepy sounds, images and atmosphere in general. Really captures the mind of a toddler alone in the middle of the night. Where you dont know if theres a horrific creature or its just the wind. Imo would be better if theres a creepy object/something in the background at some shots it would be really unsettling especially to someone that payed attention to the film
Would have been scarier if the director had filmed images of his own shit for a week. A total snoozefest by a dude who obviously has no talent for film making or storycrafting. But hey, at least he brought something to the cinema... so there's that, I suppose.
It's not your every day horror film. It does not aim to entertain you - it aims to scare you and confuse you, and it definitely worked with me. Now, yes, the choice not to show any faces of the actors was very strange and (I believe) unnecessary, but it was still scary
@@georgek2222 The guy has no business making films since he sucks at creative storytelling and his production wasn't remotely scary. You must frighten easily if you found shots of the roof and floor scary. The closest it got to "scary" was when looking under the bed, and then nothing even happened. I think you're trying to be arsty-fartsy and laying claim to things that simply aren't there. Calling Skinamarink frightening is like calling The Human Centipede the greatest love story of all time.
@@snozzlehead92 I think you've just never been scared as a kid OR you're just not scared of the dark. You don't have to diss other people who are and were affected by the atmosphere the movie tried to create. If it made you that mad that you're commenting about it then you should've just turned the movie off and moved on
@@snozzlehead92 Y, know creativity and storytelling in horror movies isn't always the scripts of Michael Myers or other horror movies, its all about the perspective of how you view this. This movie is not a horror movie, it is terror, very big difference between those two. This film didn't scare me ill say, but it left me with a very long lasting chill after watching it, when you stare at these unmoving, blurry pictures, it just raises then tension if your watching it correctly. I assume when you watched it you were either not alone or not in a dark room, since that's the ideal viewing experience. I would say this is a very creative film, as it is very different from typical "horror films". I think the very sparse use of dialogue is perfect, it just makes things more uneasy, and not seeing any faces of people, makes it even better. Again, this movie is not meant to scare, its meant to make you uneasy, unlike most horror films where they use cheap jumpscares and loud noises, you would be surprised how well silence and unmoving pictures can creep someone out. Personally, this is a great movie, maybe not super scary or high praise people are giving it, but it is a very bold movie to make to deter from the standard horror genre.
Been a horror enthusiast for over 10 years and I literally cannot remember the last time a movie made me that scared. Absolute atmospheric horror masterpiece

This trailer is a great example of what a horror movie trailer should be
-Its vague
-It doesn't reveal the whole movie
- It gives a scary atmosphere
-In an original way too
Well the whole movie is vague, not revealing, and does have a scary atmosphere the whole time. Which is mostly why it’s like that.
The trailer literally IS the movie. Shots of toys, walls, and ceilings.
the movie suk
the trailer alone gives you this very uneasy feeling and it's amazing. It even gives you the feeling of home movie/found footage and how the audio is edited and it's very distorted is amazing! I can't wait to see this film

This is EXACTLY what a horror film trailer should be. No explicit explanation of the plot, story, characters, twist, etc. Just some eerie imagery with the dark voice over saying "in this house". Love it.
EDIT: Just saw the film, and *phew*
EDIT #2: I have come to the conclusion that this film is not for everyone, from what I can see in the comments.
Watch the movie, you won’t love it anymore
@@richj6596 I loved it actually
@@richj6596 Extremely subjective opinion is extremely subjective. This is a film that will either be 0 stars for some or 5 stars for others and nobody should dictate others in watching it or loving it.
I would recommend everyone who is interested in this film to shut everyone else's opinions off and watch it for themselves and make their own minds up. If they hate it, they hate it and if they like it, they like it.
That being said, even if you fall into the "hate it" category, I think it is being disingenuous entirely to state the film is in any way "bad" or "terrible" as some will probably unfortunately jump to considering this is a UA-cam comment section. The film is exceptionally made by all counts, it's just a matter of whether or not you are on board with its experimental direction which demands a lot from the audience and actually demands you to be switched on and paying constant attention to connect every dot or if you aren't on-board and aren't willing to engage with it on the level it expects from you, in which case you'll either be very bored throughout or will have checked out emotionally and switched it off.
I also feel you need to be the target audience for a film like this. Only people who actually get what this film is going for from the beginning will click with it and be triggered by the horror it's trying to invoke. It's the kind of horror and feeling that only some people will have in the back of their minds that a film like this could possibly draw out, things that are dormant in childhood, that can be reinterpreted and re-evaluated later on.
It preys on that sense of looking back on instances in your childhood where you thought something wasn't right and the further you look back at it with the knowledge you have now, the more the horror of it might come to the forefront and you realise that things you interpreted and couldn't understand as a child were actually worse than you imagined and it haunts you with that fresh perspective.
This is the definition of a film that is not for everyone but it not being for everyone doesn't mean in any way, shape or form that it is bad. That is the nature of art and I would urge people go watch it and experience it for themselves before listening to anyone else as and have your own independent take on it.
@@johnniewolf133 Couldn't have said it better by myself 👏🏻
because that's literally all it is lol
i think what makes this the most like a genuine nightmare experience is how it sounds like the child is genuinely unable to raise his voice above a whisper or make coherent words. that's something no one seems to register in dreams. you can't break the silence yourself.
something has to break it for you.
Very well said.
This reminds me how in some of my nightmares, I can't raise my voice above a faint whisper. Ive had multiple nightmares that were like that.
Oh fuck. Your comment made my stomach drop it was so good. Just finished the movie.
You must not be trying hard enough.
I figured that shit out at age 14
It also adds to the child-like perspective of the surrounding darkness. You have to keep your voice down, partially because your parents taught you that nighttime is quiet time, but also because you're scared to speak up lest something in the darkness hear you.
Even when you know you're all alone... *you still feel watched*
The "in this house" gives me serious chills
I like how it’s just like an analog horror and instead of building up tension and releasing it with a jump scare like other movies it keeps the tension and never shows any monster, and the unknown is scarier than actually seeing the monster itself
But there literally were jumpscares though....
And not well crafted ones either. Simply, deafening obnoxious noises to get a cheap jump out of people.
@@theshabsThere are 4 jumpscares during the entire film. Half of them work as if taken from House 1977, not that jumpy at all. The 90% remaining is pure tension and atmosphere. The issue really isnt as large as you make it out to be.
There are a few jumpscares though, that telephone damn near scared me off my seat! We do see a monster too......a demon, I believe, towards the end.

Let's take the worst childhood nightmare and make it into an hour and forty minute art film.
This is definitely one of those love it or absolutely hate it movies. I actually was really into it. Every single scene is unsettling and the atmosphere of dread is thick throughout its runtime. And I love atmospheric films that understand that the unknown, if orchestrated correctly, can be much more frightening than monsters with a face, a name and a clear M.O.
Agreed 100%! I get that this is not a film for everyone's tastes, its more along the lines of analog-horror meets Blair-Witch meets horror-art-film. Its definitely unique & I love that. People complain that the shots of a wall or darkened ceiling aren't scary....I disagree. The fact that the camera is showing it means it has significance to the film! Whether that be to make the viewer unsure of when (or if!) the Evil will show itself, & to portray the 'everyday-ness' of a VERY un-everyday situation (we hope! :) ). The film has so many clues to help the viewer 'figure out the plot', at least in our own minds! Every time I watch it I see something new, a good sign. I hope they plan a sequel or another similar film. Have you seen the 30-minute film that was a 'precursor' to this one? Its called HECK. Its free up here on UA-cam! Seems like a metaphor for the foggy memories of a kid who had their parents divorce after lots of fighting, and the disappearing things represented something like the memories of moving from the old family home to something like a small apartment. My parents divorced when I was 3 and each ended up with new partners, then each of the new partners ended up constantly screaming and fighting. I just have scattered fuzzy memories of getting bounced back and forth between houses, and always being surrounded by screaming, fighting and things getting thrown around.

One of the things that that makes this eerie is the voiceover repeatedly saying “In this house” and nothing is said further. We’re left to our imagination as to what is wrong with the home. What is also unsettling is that the ones in danger are young children, horror movies rarely ever have them be terrorized, usually it’s teenagers and people who are older.
This movie really scared me and every time I get ready for bed in this house voice keeps popping up in my head this is what horror really is it’s the unknown that really scares people I loved this masterpiece I want more films like this it’s a whole new genre
Yep. Just watched it. It was definitely done in that house!

this looks so terrifying in such a genuine and organic way. Very rare for a horror film these days. It looks like a very experimental horror film which creates an atmosphere of dread and fear.
Very few trailers have given me such a chill as this one I can't wait to watch it in its complete form.
It’s too bad the trailer is literally the ENTIRE film.

That's exactly what I was thinking!
House of leaves lfggg
The whole movie looks like it takes place in the five and a half minute hallway.
I watched the film and never made the connection but you are totally right
probably the closest thing we'll ever get to a house of leaves movie tbh, given the author's insanely dumb stance
I really love the atmosphere, it reminds me of a lot of 80s horror. It clearly has a lot of thought put into it. It's unique
Doesn't take a lot of thought to film the floor and ceiling for an hour and 40 minutes. Woefully boring and uneventful film. No story, no suspense. Just complete crap, and a waste of time, really.

@@_arrturoi loved it lol. why didn’t you like it?
@@afterceasetoexist I'm not the person you're asking, but I'll reply.
The camera angles made it look like I was watching footage from security cameras that were moved and pointed away by someone who didn't want to be on camera. The audio was so bad that they had to put subtitles on so people would know what the kids were saying. What the kids said were delivered like when a parent whispers into a 3 years olds ear things to say as a way to amuse their friends with "listen to what my kid says".
That's when something was actually being said that wasn't the radio in the background or cartoons. It was happening so little that I actually decided to count the words being said. At 30 mins in, it was averaging 4 words spoken per minute. And most of that was repeating different versions of "Dad? I can't find dad. I don't know where he is".
Now, I will fully admit I left halfway through because I knew the movie was boring me so much when I was more interested in watching the lady in front of me fiddling with something in her hand than I was watching the movie. I was also at least the 3rd person to leave. Maybe more that I didn't see leave.

Same for me but I watched it and I have mixed feelings. The trailer definitely made this movie look crazy but it kinda disappoints but I’m gonna see it in theaters when it comes out maybe it’ll be better lol
Exactly how I feel too. I'll watch this one lights on I'm thinking. Maybe it will ruin the experience some but way better than being afraid of dark corners for a week. I’ve never seen anything like Skinamarink. Saw it with a friend of mine tonight, and it terrified the bejeezus out of us. Real, primal, childlike terror. Kyle Edward Ball has a very bright future ahead of him in horror and I can’t wait to see what he does next
I read a book one time that made me feel the way this movie made me feel. It was tense, scary, and made me absolutely certain that I wasn't alone, even though I was. It was difficult to get through, because I had a constant feeling of dread.
Most people would find it boring. But to those who thrive on suspense, this may be a good choice.
It made me nervous to leave the room.
While many people are trashing the movie for being “too long and boring” I also found it suspenseful and disturbing. I really wanna know what book you read to make you feel this same way.

At first watchin’ this film, it really is pretty slow-going, quiet, and it feels hypnotic to anyone who pays close attention to the entire film from start to finish. Ya’ Mos Definitely have to be alone in order to get the True Fright & Scares from this Well-Made movie, and make sure it’s at night, and ya’ probably would Not want to watch this movie majorly stoned!
I love how people have devolved to “it’s garbage” or “it’s the best thing ever”. No one asked anyone to see this movie, and the writer and director killed it with the atmosphere and genuine sense of childhood fear of being alone. It doesn’t have to be your cup of tea, but it’s definitely not garbage.
Guarantee It would get a solid F in any legitimate film school grading. It was meant to be a short film not one hour and 40 minutes of muffled darkness! Easily one of the worst horror movies of all time. Makes Cabin Fever seem Oscar worthy lol

This trailer reminded me of something that happened to me when I was like 4. I usually slept with my two cousins (3 and 4) in one room. The room has large windows but when I woke up at night one day it was pitch black. I could see absolutely nothing and I don't remember if I wanted to pee but I got out of the bed to look for the door. The door was in front of my bed but I remember I walked in the dark and found nothing. Then I bumped into something like a tunnel so I walked on my hands and knees and got inside that hole (there was no hole in my room btw) the I came out but it was still pitch black. I gave up looking for the door so I started looking for my bed again, I was still walking on my hands and knees until I touched a bed and there was someone on the bed so I touched their feet and I thought it was my cousin but I kept touching since I could see nothing. From her feet I went up to her knees, then the waits and finally the shoulders. Here's the creepy part: there was no head. I was so confused and I could see nothing so I started again from her feet to her shoulders and I passed my hand from one shoulder to the other. No head. I immediately started crying. Another weird thing, as soon as I started crying I was immediately grabbed by someone from the bed, it wasn't a child because they hugged me and it felt like the arms of an adult and they started petting my head. I felt a sense of peace and fell asleep in the arms of that person. The next when I woke up I asked my cousins (3 and 4 yrs old) who was it who hugged me at night and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said they never heard me cry, that they didn't wake up at night. I'm 36 now and I never forgot that night. There was someone in that room that pat my head lovingly, there was a little girl with no head on that bed and I don't know what hole I went into in a pitch black room looking for a door I never found. It wasn't a dream.
God dammmmn that's fucking creepy

So no head?
@@drownedfire6368 it wasn't, I used to have many dreams as a child I still remember. This one wasn't a dream.
@@thegucc593 and no neck. My hand passed from shoulder to shoulder twice. 🥶
Saw it twice opening weekend. It's important to be silent and immerse yourself. Watch it twice as well. First for the horror, second time to finish putting all of the pieces together.
And you'll still be afraid.
I've felt for a long time that comedy and horror are more connected than most people give them credit for. They're both built on subverting expectations and surprising you somehow, which is how I think scary, uncanny things can also be a bit goofy and vice versa. The voice saying "in this house" over and over and never finishing the sentence, just repeating and changing in pitch, on the one hand is like something from a UA-cam Poop, but something about it makes my skin crawl. I can see why this movie is so divisive and it's definitely not for everyone, but it's absolutely stuck with me since I saw it. It prioritizes atmosphere over narrative, so if you're going into it looking for a gripping story you're bound to find it frustrating and dull. But I find that once you give in to the atmosphere and just let it do its thing, it's one of the most chilling things I've ever seen.
Really captures the feeling of being a kid and having a nightmare where something is following you, you can't see or hear it but you just know it's there. Also the repetitive trailer actually does a good job capturing what the film is like: this weird, monotonous, cyclical thing that aims to draw you in by testing your patience and frustrating you. It's a bold move and I think that explains why it's not for everyone - btw make no mistake, I don't hold it against anyone for not being into it. I loved it but I agree it's a fucking endurance test to get through. Horror is also like comedy in that it's extremely subjective. Sometimes something just makes you laugh, sometimes something just freaks you out, sometimes it does both.
"Come upstairs" gave me goosebumps
If I had to hear the kid say "dad" one more time lmao. Fr tho, some parts were actually very effective (that last minute was insanely terrifying), but I kept rolling my eyes whenever the cartoons would replay the same clip or there would be repetitive shots of the legos or stuffed animals. I really wanted to love this, especially since the trailer was so good, but an hour and forty minutes just felt way too much. The bedroom scene was particularly memorable... I actually was kinda panicking when the kid slowly checked under the bed lol. I think this movie would be a much better experience at home, alone in the dark, than it is in a theater with a crowd, which is how I watched it. There was just a weird collective sense of confusion and boredom amongst everyone that only took about 5 minutes to form, and that weird feeling unfortunately never went away. I'm going to give this a rewatch on Shudder when it comes out, as I'm almost certain I'll actually be very afraid of it then.
This is the best trailer I have seen in the last decade...and I'm not joking. The perfect trailer, showing less and then, give you a real reason to discover the rest.
I know that some people didn't like this movie because it wasn't a conventional horror film, but I do love this movie for how _unsettling the atmosphere is._ When you really, really get down to it, this movie is the horror a child feels when in the dark, in a house.
It wasn't a film at all. Film's have a story and characters. This was just a pretentious nearly two hour session of non sequitur shots of ceilings and floors. Since the film maker doesn't respect our time or intelligence, I don't feel compelled to respect his work or say nice things about it.
@@Emma-nuell Apparently, this experimental movie is about finding a way to get gullible people to pony up $15k and, in return, give them some lazy camera shots of a roof for 2 hours. And then instead of those people saying "Err, guys... i think we were ripped off", they're calling it words like "experimental" and "artistic". It reminds me of a trailer for an old grindhouse or drive-in movie. Low budget, you don't really know what's going on in the trailer, there's an old man voice actor saying the tagline, you're basically left wondering what the movie is about, thus driving you to the nearest grindhouse or drive-in to see it.
