When you do a compare and contrast do you like this, the star constellations of the Four Seasons. 1) Leo- Star Constellation for Spring 2) Draco- Star Constellation for Summer 3) Pegasus- Star Constellation for Fall 4) Orion- Star Constellation for Winter
BRAVO!!! I just started trying to locate Draco this past weekend. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly faint he is. I was able to see some of the stars in the tail. I will take you up on the recommendation to look for the head. Im happy to see I wasnt off in my telescope positioning, just a victim of terrible night skies. Hopefully when I go to Arizona over Labor Day weekend I can find him better then, given the much darker skies. Very well done!! You have a new fan!!!
Draco is one that took me time to get comfortable finding. It is pretty faint constellation. But knowing where it is in relation to the Dippers is what helps me find it. Good luck stargazing and keep looking up!
👍👍👍 Thanks! Draco coils around the Ecliptic Pole; and Thuban is the most perfect of the pole stars with respect to proximity to the processional path of the North Celestial Pole -- at its closest circa 2830 BC.
I would love to hear your thoughts on how these names play in our movies...so many are in harry potter..wondering if it gives new meaning when you watch movies to us that had no clue to the history of these stars. Bellatrix, sirius (who is a dog), draco, crux. Also a question, would the horsehead nebula be considered dark horse? Also it seems adam and eve story with satan on the tree would fit right in with these.
Hello! 👋 I have lots of thoughts about how names in astronomy appear in movies and other forms of pop culture. I especially love the Harry Potter books, and I love how J.K. Rowling uses names in astronomy for some characters. It makes sense that Sirius is a dog animagus. Sirius is the brightest star in the constellation in Canis Major, which is the Great Dog constellation. The constellation Draco is represented as a dragon, but has also been described as a serpent as well. This highlights Draco’s connection to Slytherin House. The star pattern of Draco certainly snakes it way through the sky. The name Bellatrix is Latin means ‘female warrior’, which totally matches that character’s personality.
The Horsehead Nebula nebula is classified as a dark nebula, also known as an absorption nebula. It is a thick cloud of gas and dust, and it absorbs light, giving it a dark appearance. See this video for more explanation on types of nebula: ua-cam.com/video/_cI20mvIV0Q/v-deo.html
And to answer your final question, I haven’t thought about the connection of Adam and Eve to Draco before, but it does make sense. In one of the Greek myths of Draco, the dragon protects the golden apples of Hesperides. The story is different, but presence of apples would be the common thread. The more I research the mythologies of the stars, the more I learn that there is so much variation between them all, but there are similarities between them as well. It truly is fascinating! Great questions! I love this kind of dialogue.
Yeah, I noticed that there were 3 pairs of stars that stood out for me, looking up from Calgary, a big city with lots of light pollution. I could follow the 2 stars at the outer edge of the Big Dipper to find Polaris and I noticed the edge of the Dipper nearest its handle seemed to point to a pair of stars at about 10 to 4 o'clock re the Big Dipper below and these were the outer edge of the Little Dipper, which themselves pointed to 2 stars further away from the Big Dipper, and it turns out part of the body of Draco. There were 2 other stars in a line from the Little Dipper 2 and the 2 body Draco stars and I wondered if they might be part of a triangle, and they turned out to be 3 of the 4 stars of Draco's head. Not bad for Calgary, but the light of knowledge shows the way. Thank you, Learn the Sky Jeanine.
You are an amazing person and i am a big fan of yours.Trust me i wont say it to Tom cruise.....I am really fond of your videos...A big hug from India and so much love♥️
Its all connected to the main Star(thuban) which has a small planetary system that still continues to orbit it,as earth still - FIELD-SCANS the heavens above each year with the verybest earth an satelite telescopes as usual..but also looks like its been a long active StarSystem in deepspace for many many thousands of years in space history....
.....easier route(?)...Lyra, find the brightest firstly, then Etamin, brightest in Draco yes, I have Dragons based DNA links here, use your intuition to resonate within 🐉
That one is on my list....however I am really struggling to find pictures of it. Probably because it is the largest constellation. Finding pictures is my daily struggle! 😝
The key to finding Draco is being able to find the Dippers. Draco’s tail goes between the Dippers. It is a faint constellation to begin with and challenging to find.
I heard this wierd tale about how the constellation draco is supposed to eat my constellations little star, ofcourse metaphorically but from rotation of the earth. Just curious if anyone new anything??
I haven't heard of that tale myself, but there are so many stories and mythologies of the stars. In terms of position in the sky, Draco and Virgo are not next to each other in the sky. Draco is large and does kind of 'snake' through the sky. Thank you for watching...keep looking up!

Have you notice the position of the sun and moon (the rising and setting) has changed?
The advantage of living in equatorial regions is that we see the constellations all year round, you just have to know which direction to look.

“What now, Draco? Without you... ... ...what do we do? Where do we turn?”
“To stars, Bowen. To the stars.”
I read that in Sean Connery’s voice.

Vega points to Draco' s brightest star Etamin, that is how I found Draco the first time
That's another great strategy to use. Thank you for sharing!

Nice presentation
If you were born on July 26th/August 7th/December 17th-23rd your a dragon🐉
May 21 to 23 is the 🐉 that's why in Mexico they were called the Mayan because it represents may.

Becuse vega is near the head of the dragon.

No surprise that Draco lacks light.

Can we learn the pegasus constellation
