Thanks for this as always great work. I saw the Kickstarter but it looked very fiddley with so many pieces but after seeing it in action the design is really straight forward and very elegant. I really don't want to miss this one. I backed it yesterday. Thanks again. I know I will be waiting awhile to play it but it looks amazing. Definitely unlike anything else in my collection.

A lot of what I had heard about this game had turned me off from it, despite my enjoyment of the genre. But this playthrough seems to really do it justice. Very interested in this.
This looks cool, but I don't like the creatures. I like the fact that they have random abilities and the "you never know what you're gonna get" quality, but also they seem faceless and abstract. I don't know who I'm fighting. There isn't any art or picture to go with it, so you just get a name and a set of stats. Seems pretty meh.
basically we imagined them all as different named battalions of tolkien-esque orcs or uruk-hai, with different tools of war available to them. and when you're playing, what you really care about is what they can do to you, rather than who they are :)
Hey ilk3000, it is two green dots, unfortunately the 2 player stat bars Rahdo is using had to be home printed so it's a bit harder to see. In the final print they will be much more obvious, and they are also different shapes: Green = circle Pink = triangle White = square Just to help identify them quickly.
I don't mind simple designs, as long as there is a design. An 80% black box is not a design; it is just boring and looks cheap There isn't a lot of art in the game, the least they can do is wrap the game in something that looks interesting.

this seems like a light/quicker version of gloomhaven in some ways, without legacy elements.
yeah it does, it caters to that market .. and it looks like a winner to me so get thee to Kickstarter because I will be doing right about now.
That's why I love it. I love Gloomhaven but I am excited about games that are sorta Gloomhaven light

My only design complaint is the "cover the one ability you CAN use with a disc and leave the three you CAN'T use uncovered"
fair complaint. i never saw the final retail edition... maybe they ended up using rings or clear discs?

At 19:30, doesn't that enemy card have two gray dots, meaning that the abilities would be from the gray bag?
Or maybe it's green, it's hard to make out.

The game looks great, with quality components, but I hope they change the cover art. That black box you showed at the start is so bland and boring.
I think it's elegant in it's simplicity. I guess you're not much for simple designs. Which covers do you prefer?
