As someone who spent years behind a band, hauling their equipment and being a witness to the chaos, this man has always made me feel like someone out there just knew how to write my life. We are strangers bound by a thing bigger than ourselves that few will ever really comprehend.
For whom did you work? I have yet to see this movie in it's entirety-'Almost Famous'-(let alone the Broadway show), but: My earliest childhood friend worked as a 'roadie' for Peter Frampton (who plays a 'roadie' in the movie). My brother was a guitarist in a band who received a bad review in Rolling Stone; so the leader of the band showed up at their offices and put a beatdown on Jann Wenner. I once drove the members of Foghat to the airport to catch a plane. I've got other stories about 'roadies' and rockers; all true, which do indeed tell of something bigger than ourselves; supernatural in origin, defying comprehension.
@@romanticandperkyreally? Your brother’s buddy just showed up at a huge office building with security and a receptionist-and a secretary-to see a man who’s booked solid daily…and proceeded to give him a ‘beat down’? Riiiiight 🙄 Dede’s comprehension, alright. Smells like total bullshit.
@@glengamble526 No, it's a true story. This was back in 1971, and Rolling Stone magazine wasn't in a huge office building in those days with lots of security. Here's another story that's true, but you probably won't believe: In 1966, my dad (who just died the other day) took my brother and I to see The Stones perform live (Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, NYC). About 30 odd years later, my late brother Charlie took our mom to a birthday party at Keith Richards' house. Which reminds me: Glengamble, here's a trivia question for you: Which Stones' tune begins with the line-"Ma said 'yes', Pa said 'no'; make up your mind 'cause I've got to go--." My stories are true, glen: Buddy Miles, former drummer for Wilson Pickett and Jimi Hendrix, once showed up at the offices of Rolling Stones, and RIPPED THAT JOINT!
Yes, my late brother was Buddy's guitarist at the time of that incident. 21 years later, my now late brother Charlie (and his guitar) were invited over to Keith Richards' house. You don't have to believe me; I'm the only one I know to make this comparison, but I always though Buddy Miles and Charlie Watts had very similiar drumming styles.
@@glengamble526 That was curious that said-"Your brother's buddy"- for it was Buddy Miles! Really!
Almost famous is a real masterpiece, I didn't expect a director to be on a show like this. It's so funny so good❤😂
If there ever was an underrated movie.....this is it ! Brings me back to a simpler time......the bus scene.....tugs at my heart strings every time.
So excited for this musical! Almost Famous is in my top five list of movies ever and to have it as a musical with Jimmy himself in it is something that can't be explained!
Cameron having a great time, it’s about time. ✌️
why? what happened to him?
Almost Famous is a classic. Hope the musical does well. Another movie on National Film Registry list.
I really hope he makes another movie soon. He’s one of my favorite directors
I saw it in previews, and it’s a fantastic adaptation of a terrific movie…go see it!!
I have always loved his writing as well as his directing of many films. “Singles” remains a favorite of mine and s one of those films that always gives me a really special feeling. Somehow his films always seem to give me similar emotional responses to them and I really appreciate that.
I love Singles!
The ending was so great. “What took you so long?“. “I was stuck in traffic.” Just perfect!
Omg I’ve literally been carrying a torch for this man for 25 years...love you Cameron ❤️❤️❤️
Ohmygosh!!!!!! Jimmy, you gotta take it! Oh I’m so excited for you!!! Maybe I’ll come and see it. I live in Europe, but it’d be worth the trip.
i love this for Jimmy.
I saw it last week at the Jacob Theater and IT WAS AMAZING!!!
Jimmy’s character was great fun.
the movie aged well. that joke with mick jagger playing at 50 still kills
To be fair, no one thought he'd still be alive at this age.
Cameron now looks like an American Jonathan Ross.
Doesn’t he resemble Oscar Wilde ?
Yes!
Nice!
🙏 To the person reading this, even though I don't know you. I wish you the best of what life has to offer 🤗❤️
You as well👏🏽

Cameron has finally turned into the little old English woman he always wanted to be.
From the thumbnail I thought it was miles teller in makeup lol.
Amazing total genius
As good as Almost Famous was, it was also aptly titled because after starring _in_ Almost Famous, Patrick Fugit went on to appear in, um…
We Bought a Zoo. And ummmm…? Lol
Gone Girl :p
My aunt in Kentucky thinks this guy proves Kentucky is a breeding facility for geniuses. Hello? He's not from Kentucky. He was born in Ohio. He has no accent. His dad saw Powell County for what it was and got out.

what happened to the tonight show? wasnt it great at one point?
Like, 35+ years ago maybe, but Johnny Carson was the king and pretty much invented the format that everyone else has tried to imitate- and never managed to duplicate- ever since. He had no real competition, except for a while from Arsenio Hall toward the end.
@@cc1k435 Yeah i think you nailed it cc 1k. I may be living in the past a bit. I feel like it's gotten worse in the past few years. Love your insight.
