@1ShotTravel when I moved to nyc in 84 from la i did the ball drop,, way to crowded next year got a room at Marriott marquis and watch ball drop from room which was cool . That was first year they opened and year after that they realized there mistake of not charging outrageous prices for new years and couldn't go again , try marquis also
@@daisycharles440 I would say 98% of the hotels here charge resort fees. The only place that I stayed at that didn’t charge was the Doubletree Times Square West :)
I heard the Riu shower door has a frosted glass making it not private? I’m staying in the room with my teens so I wondered how much privacy the bathroom gives
Do you think the Belvedere hotel or Park Central hotel is better? Are they decent hotels? I found good deals on both of them that fit my budget, and I love the location. Should I book one or look elsewhere? It’s hard to find hotels in the times square location that fit my budget. I worry about bedbugs. I’ve read mixed reviews on both.
I cant speak for the Belvedere hotel for I have not stayed there. However, Park Central Hotel is a decent property. If you have a good deal there, go ahead and book it.
I stated stayed at the Riu for a week. Unable to get near the free breakfast. So many people. It's on a high flour so impossible to even get on the elevator.
@@mcurrie2886 this is in the RIU Manhattan right (5th floor)? The RIU Times Square has the breakfast in the lobby that’s why I chose it as my top pick 🎉
@ good to know. I liked the location. Close to my daughter's school. Lots of protests outside of hotel which was scary. The room was nice it was over $600 us a night. Not even a tea kettle of coffee maker. Two bottles of water for the entire visit.

Thank you, really helpful, subscribed I’m planning on a visit to New York City this month, do all hotels in the city charge a resort fee?

I saw my name, Bianca. What is that in reference to in the New Yorker? Im looking at options for December with my 8 year old.
@@mammab4437 that’s trattoria bianca (Italian Resto) inside the hotel 😊

@@JF-yx2tb it’s not bad really. It is frosted glass but it does the job. You can’t see through it even the shadow

Stayed at the New Yorker, lovely hotel, great location but the room maids are thief's but I'd definitely stay again 🇺🇲🗽
I agree, this is a good hotel 🎉 sad you had that experience w the maids. I hope management reprimands the person as well
@1ShotTravel we didn't report it mate, we were only there for five days and we didn't know which maid but I highly recommend this hotel
