You are still my fav knitting podcaster! Why? 1. You get right to the point (not too much off topic chatter) 2. You have excellent notes and links below (some podcasters have nothing and I can’t make out what the name of the project is nor the designer) 3. You are smart and explain well 4. Your knits are beautiful and just the right amount challenging 5. I think you said that you can’t wear too itchy of things…same with me! Rock on!
Just found your podcast and really enjoyed it. You knit a lot of garments that I am either making or want to make. Very inspiring and informative. Thanks so much. :)
Thanks for the video. I feel your pain for knitting silk! I knitted Cumulus tee in Knitting for Olive pure silk earlier this summer and thought I'd never knit pure silk ever again. But looking at the end result I'm almost tempted to knit the same tee in the same yarn in another colour😅
I am new to your channel and have been really enjoying your content :) I'm from Ontario Canada and we get similar weather. Here's hoping we get a little more summer out of our September and you will get lots of use out of those tank tops!
Always love your honesty about patterns ! Your knitted things always look so good, with good info about the pattern. Agree with a comment below about getting to the point ; never have to fast forward your podcasts. Attention span short circuits with too much info from other podcasts I watch. Thank you !
Your podcast just came up in my feed… I‘m loving it! I appreciate the way you approach your makes, share a very similar aesthetic and am making or have made several of the pieces you’ve shown. I‘ll be catching up on back episodes for sure!!
I did the cumulus tee in tynn line by sandnes garn and it works very well. I had issues with the slip on metal needles, and changes to wooden needles. After a progress of like 10 cm i could change too metal again (my metal needles are more pointy what was easier for the increases). Worked well with the yarn
The cumulus tee looks so nice and professional! And you have made a lot of progress! I hope wisdom teeth recovery wasn't too bad! I have to do that soon 😫 And thank you so much for sharing my yarn! I hope you have so much fun knitting with it!
I'm really enjoying your podcasts. For that light blue yarn with Isager mohair, I immediately thought of the cozy classic raglan by Jessie maed designs.
New to your podcast, but so far I am in love the patterns and yarns you presented. Thanks for all the tips. I'll be checking out the patterns that you shared, but I don't dare buy any more yarn since I have quite a stash.
I, too, found the Vegas Top on Pinterest and have knitted it twice. First time I used 100% merino wool and the second time was using a blend of cotton/linen/viscose. I have worn both several times and really love this pattern!!!
Hellooooo from Chicagoland!!!! Wool & Co is a wonderful yarn store!!! The staff is super knowledgeable and so helpful! I really enjoy your videos, so thorough and thoughtful, you provide great insight on your knits.
I’m sure you already thought of this, but I no longer knit flat on straight needles. I knit flat on circular needles! I don’t think I will ever go back to straight needles again if I can help it.
Great episode😁. I know I've said it before, you give me so much inspiration and I thank you so much for your honesty about every aspect of the project. Your knitting is so nice, your tension is beautiful. Thank you
I love your podcasts Amy!! All of your input and thoughts about each project and yarn is so very helpful! I decided to knit the Mobi sweater after I saw yours and your review of the pattern helped me a lot! Thank you!!
I also really enjoy double knitting! Working on the double knitting edging on the Square Neck Camisole while watching this (in KFO cotton merino) - love your videos and your knits!!
Really appreciate your reflections around the Cumulus Tee (which is looking amazing on you!) - I now picked up some Pure Silk in Petroleum Blue and will knit one for myself. :) Looking forward to the next podcast!
There are these silicon band tubes to put on needle tip and transfer easy. I never did a provisional cast on yet, bu it looks like this type of povksional cast on would have ninda worked with that? So that the transfer to the needle would be much easier?
I love your podcasts! Straight to the point, all business. :) Oh MY Goodness - I'm so impressed with your number of WIPs and FOs - you get so much accomplished! Must be a really fast knitter. Also, though, your knitting is absolutely beautiful! Every piece looks so good on you! 💖from TX
Oh man! I thought we were getting a discount code for Nite Bright yarn! Oh well! ☺️I love your videos. We have the same taste in patterns & yarn. I’m trying to decide on 1 more summer top to cast on b4 fall. Have a great rest of the week. Christina
I love my Chiagoos and use them for most yarns. However, I have found that slick yarns (your pure silk would be in that category) are better worked on wood or bamboo as my hands don't have to work so hard to stop the slipping/sliding -- especially in finer gauge yarns. You used wood for the Lanikai, why not the Cumulus?
aaaah that isager colour is fabulous !!! You've really found the perfect blues that suit you. I've also just casted on the Kuutar top (btw sari nordlund is having a kal in her ravelry group if you want to enter yours when it's done!) and i get what you mean with the second sock syndrom for the second panel ! Good luck with all your camis !
I share your opinion on the pure silk! I really didn't enjoy knitting with it at times, but the blocked fabric is just sooo lovely. I'm still not sure if I would buy it again, as I want to enjoy the process of knitting as well as the finished garment, especialy when it is on 3mm and takes forever...
I loooove the drape of the Cumulus Tee. The fabric turned out beautifully, the colour looks lovely on you! A thought: The fit of the raglan looks off to my eye, I wonder if a narrow shoulder alteration (eg reducing stitches at the back neck) would make for a better fit? Or maybe it’s just the yoke depth? Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us!!
The raglan seems to sit at the back instead of the front of the shoulders, which might be intentional since the pattern photos show it laying like that as well. It's different but I kind of like the look, I think it looks more polished from the front. Wearing it, it feels like it fits great!
Love your channel! I just finished the vegas top a few weeks ago and it was a super fun knit - however the arm holes ended up being quite tight on me even after blocking. I went with my suggested size from the pattern (M) but could have definitely benefitted from adding a few additional stitches when joining in the round for more breathable arm holes. :)
I love the look of your Lanikai tee so far and am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the pattern. Are the increases easy. I’ve not got a lot of experience with circular yokes.
I find circular yokes to be quite straightforward! In this pattern, the increases are only on stockinette rounds and are evenly spaced. The pattern so far has been easy for me to follow!
The arm edges on the cami no.5 took years off my life 😂 Think I spent 2-3 weeks doing them and I'm so glad I chose to do them in the middle of my project (especially since I'm doing it as a dress) because if that had to be my last step, I'm pretty sure I'd end up semi-abandoning it 😅
I’m currently working on the cumulus tee and I’m doing it in the second recommended yarn, Tynn Line by Sandnes Garn. And I absolutely HATE the flat part I’m currently at, every purl side is a pain in my soul, but the knit side is always so so smooth and nice, and the finished fabric feels so nice to the touch) so overall, partially I want to scream and partially I’m so excited by the project and enjoy it, but yeah, be ready that the flat part is kinda…interesting in terms of emotions😂
I’m curious about the shoulder fit of your cumulus tee. The raglan lines are all to the back, vs centered over your shoulders. Do you find the top wants to slide back? Or does it sit comfortably and with stability? Thanks, Amy!
I feel that I’ve seen the back slip down a but on a few people, do you experience that? Do you think it would be better with short rows in the back? Or is it something that you think about? I’m going to start this project soon and Im curious to see what you think about it?
I just watched another podcast right before this one (Hester and Lark). She also mentioned the neckband on the camisole #5- she thought she picked up too many stitches too, but blocked it and it flattened out. She also just knit a Cumulus Tee, lol.
Thanks for the i-cord tip for the Cumulus Tee! I will definitely use it when I knit another Cumulus Tee. And did you reduce the stitches for the sleeves? My experience is that the sleeves were a bit wide on the Cumulus Tee thatI knitted before.
I am fairly new to your channel. I’ve knit for years, but am still sort of an advanced beginner. I am so impressed with your clothing; you’re truly an inspiration. Question: may I ask the brand of the bamboo needles you’re using for the Lainikai tee? Thanks!
I have found a few local yarn stores that carry it, including one near me, but there aren't many. knittingforolive.com/pages/retailers has a list of their US retailers! I have also ordered directly from the knitting for olive website.

Thank you for the kind words!
Also…you do give us both the positive and the negative things about a project. Helps me learn!

I love your videos. So much good info! 🧶
Love the color of your Cami No.5!
Thank you!!

Good point! I just don't own a pair of wooden needles in the size for the cumulus tee. But I would consider getting some!

I have not experienced any sliding back while wearing this tee! I was also expecting it but have been pleasantly surprised.

It does slip down a little bit. I think it could benefit from some short rows!

And did you reduce the stitches for the sleeves? My experience is that the sleeves were a bit wide on the Cumulus Tee thatI knitted before.
I followed the pattern for the sleeve stitches as written and I think they fit well! Not sure if they will stretch wider with wear though.
I am fairly new to your channel. I’ve knit for years, but am still sort of an advanced beginner. I am so impressed with your clothing; you’re truly an inspiration. Question: may I ask the brand of the bamboo needles you’re using for the Lainikai tee? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! The needles I'm using for the Lanikai tee are Knitter's Pride Dreamz. I believe they are birchwood!
@@neknits Thanks for the reply! I appreciate the info
love your podcasT! which camera are you using? I am obsessed with the quality!
I just got the Sony ZV-1!

Where do you purchase your Knitting for Olive yarn in the US?
I have found a few local yarn stores that carry it, including one near me, but there aren't many. knittingforolive.com/pages/retailers has a list of their US retailers! I have also ordered directly from the knitting for olive website.
