I love how honest Wombat is about everything, his candor is great, and uncommon! This is one of the greatest insights into how it all really is in my opinion. Also, the E2 was already sexy. Anybody trapping that beast deserves respect.
Mike these interviews are extremely interesting and well edited and put together I especially love the variety of aircraft type and the story the pilots tell ! Wombat what a down to earth guy !
Good talk on the guy who just had a strange attitude,I've had that in normal jobs, thanks for voicing it,totally agree with his view of people like that
Part 1 was great 👍🏼 Part 2 puts one on top 🛫 I couldn't get the grin off my face while watching the interview 😃 I like the quote "I'm really just a votingmember in this plane" Its epic 🙏🏼😅🇺🇲🎗 Keep up the great work 🇬🇧 All the best from Germany 🇩🇪🎗
When you are first transferred to Hornet from Hawkeye- At first : Heck yeah, coolest plane in Navy After some days: Come on, the Hawkeye was sooo more relaxing and comfy
At least that dude was honest with you and let you know where you stood when he said he did not like transition guys. There is much more to that story than you or we will know probably never know.
Honesty is a virtue, but so is not being a jerk. You'd think it would matter more what Wombat could do than where he was from. In any case, I enjoyed the second half of the interview. Nicely done Wombat and Mike!
Not really the same, but when I was finished with my enlistment in the Navy, I transferred to the Army, and we were required to go through a slightly shorter basic training. Despite ranging in ranks from E-4 to E-6, we were basically treated like privates by the Drill Sergeants, who never ceased to say that they disliked us for leaving our original branches (Air Force, Navy, Coasties, etc), to come to the Army. So, instead of actually instructing us on useful stuff that NCO's in the Army would need to know, they just spent the entire time acting as if they were training up privates, and demeaning us as often as possible. Fortunately, when I went on to AIT, the instructors there took the time to train me not only in my MOS, but also provided leadership and NCO conditioning, and used me to herd the trainee privates around. Basically, having a dislike of someone is fine, but when it affects the way you interact with them as a fellow sevice-member, it becomes a problem that is harming the service. It sounds like the officer Wombat knew was behaving more like my disgruntled Drill Sergeants.
@@zyoungson215 Apparently they do, but the number who've done the program is very small from what I hear. Simply not that many F-22 airframes, so not a lot of opportunity to fit an exchange pilot into the mix.

Just bought your book, Wombat. Thank you for your service. (Army vet)
Is the book any good?
@@briandenison2325 Yep!
Wombat is just such an awesome dude
Yep. Top chap.
Yeah, “Flight of the Intruder” rocks way more than Top Gun 👍🏻
My favorite Aviation interview was “Wombat” on his buddies channel, interviewing, Admiral … oh Dang it. New Book Lead to Win!
Great interview, Pt 1 & 2 ! WOMBAT is such a great guy! Awesome! Love it!😁

Such a great story teller.
He is indeed. Very humble which is always a good trait in my book.
Ha what a fun interview! Great questions!

He also, has some great swag available on his website!
He does indeed.
Great interview!
Cheers!
The S-3 WAS a fantastic tanker aircraft. Especially recovery tanking. Mission tanking . . . it depends.
I'm not biased or anything . . .
Need a Gonky interview that be cool .
Good talk. What did he do to get a call sign like ‘Wombat’🤔😉🤫

Really? The guy sounds like a complete bellend to me, probably insecure about Wombats previous experience.
Brilliant 👌👌👌🇬🇧
Boom Boom!!! Wombat!!! #1
So, ok, as an Aussie I need to know how he became Wombat. Fun fact, wombats sh*t cube-shaped dung. Look it up.
He speaks about it on CW Lemoine’s channel
@@louissanderson719 LOL it's a cryptic non-answer. Probably related to the eats, roots, shoots and leaves joke.
This was great, but come on! I really wanted to know what WOMBAT stands for!
😆
I found this on a call sign site: who knows maybe it’s this Wombat?
Wombat
Can't remember anything, except "Wonderful Momma's B*tts And T*ts"
So at 7:00 who was Maverick and who was Iceman in this scenario?
So what do wombats do? They eat roots and leaves.
Cheers
Plz get RAF or RAAF F-22 exchange pilots.
Do they even have exchange pilots on f22?

A pilot that thinks they are cool...........oh I can write a book on that one.
