OMG! This makes me somewhat miss Charlotte, in which it's the city I was born and raised in. I didn't know it had grown exponentially in such a little time. I left Charlotte in 2004 and moved to Atlanta, GA. IT LOOKS VERY MUCH LIVELY like you said. I'm going to have to visit my hometown once again.
Thank you for posting this. It sure brought back memroies. I've been in Charlotte a lot since my grandparents lived there. We will usually visit for Thanksgiving or Passover. I've been going to Charlotte for a long period of time, since 1970 when my grandparents moved there. I've seen the city grow too. It's been amazing. I remember looking at the Charlotte skyline before the Nations Bank Building was around. The old one that is!
@Hutch4ever1 haha well, I admitted my flaws in this video. I'm an alert and experienced driver, but I just so happened to pass through the lights as they were turning red. Should I have stopped at Trade and Tryon? Yes, that was my mistake. I thank you for watching though. :-)
@mjdubord Thanks! The song I used is "I Will Be Here (Wolfgang Gartner Remix)" by Tiesto. For future reference, the song info. is listed at the end of the video. :-)
Great Video of driving downtown at nights and the illumination of all the city street lights and buildings looks lively. I do miss this living in Charlotte. It has a great progressive feel and modern style.
@cmc1echris If you don't like the video, I don't have a problem with that. However, I make these videos as a hobby and share them with people who want to learn more about an area. To call it "gay" is kind of insulting since I put a lot of time, effort, and money into this.
I have to say, this is an excellent video. There's a ton of color to Uptown Charlotte, from what I could see. After watching this video, I can say, without hesitation, that it's a much more pleasant downtown area vs. Los Angeles! Are you going to be filming any street tours of Charlotte's liveliest districts, away from Uptown? I'd love to see such a video in the future.
@autopreneur Another night video of other districts in Charlotte and Downtown Raleigh at night on the horizon soon depending when I get back to those two cities. Richmond and DC (not southern, I know haha) will be in December. I want to do some more videos of Atlanta but I'm not sure when I'll be down there again.
You did an awesome job on this video.......it reminds me of Freewayjims videos. I like his stuff. I live in uptown charlotte in the 4th ward.... it was really cool to see my area in this video. I think you should also tour Ballantyne area of charlotte. Its a pretty cool place to video, maybe during the day. It was a great video and cant wait to see more of your work on my great city. I also loved the soundtrack on this video. I downloaded the song after I heard it on here... LOL
@sunshineunc Thank you! While I've learned a lot from Freewayjim, he's definitely the ultimate master when it comes to these kinds of videos. I actually live in Winston-Salem and travel to Charlotte at least once a month. I have an upcoming tour of Myers Park, SouthEnd, and Elizabeth that I plan on releasing this weekend. When I go back I plan on filming the upscale areas such as South Park and Ballantyne. Thank you again for watching! :-)
my family have lived in matthews for 39years they have always been very happy ...... i can remember years since charlotte was a lonley desolate place , i never saw any people . it was rather scarey ...... all these years on its become the most beautiful city, the place is very vibrant to say the least ....its adorable .... i live in south yorkshire england , and visit my family on a regular basis ....... long live charlotte and its people xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It's boring only if you don't know what to do. The first year after I moved here I thought this is the most boring city in the world. But now after three years of living here, I discovered that there are so many things to do in and around Charlotte.
@dhcave haha don't worry about it! :-) Not many people in the US have heard of Charlotte and often confuse it with Charlottesville, VA or Charleston, SC. I've actually talked to some people before who thought it was IN South Carolina... I plan to make a few more videos on Charlotte's inner-ring neighborhoods so stay tuned!
just remember the sequence.....red light means stop, yellow light means prepare to stop and blue light means go. Which brings me to my next question....why are all the green lights blue?
@thinkdeepr I wish you the best on your move and future endeavors. Charlotte is an awesome place to live! I'm glad you enjoyed and thank you for watching!
Thanks for posting. The "City Center" of Philadelphia (where I live in a suburb) looks very much like this, except Charlotte has many more trees, much to the town's credit. I'm tied by family to this area, and I do love it, BUT if I ever have the option, moving to Charlotte seems like the perfect way to give up nothing about urban living, while leaving behind the harsh northeast winters.
Dude if you have the chance to move here do it. I'm from Philadelphia and was stationed at Fort Bragg. I said that i'd never go back to Philly except to visit family. I visited Charlotte and when I got out of the Army I moved back here.
@TheFatCigar Thank you! If you haven't been to Charlotte before, it's definitely worth a visit. I'm not sure if it's listed anywhere else on here, but the song I used for the intro is "The Anthem" by Filo & Peri. :-)
@CosmoPhotography Thanks, you used that technique well, good on you! yeah that Duke Energy center looks awesome, I also like the NASCAR HOF with the colored neon streaks.
Queen City 704 My City Charlotte Babe all day fuck the haters if you dont like it well dont bring yo ass around its fun here we got mall parties clubs tours Carowinds if u never been to Charlotte and you wanna have fun riding on roller coasters and shit go to Carowinds its fun some people say Charlotte its boring they the one in a house all day and not doing shit you have to go out and experience Charlotte you will love it here and its the number 1 growing city in USA
@Astoria1287 Thanks! I think Downtown started being referred to as Uptown in the late 80s or early 90s when city leaders were trying to bring people back downtown and rebrand it.
@0DR0 Yeah, I agree with you. I wish the VUE was more lit up and I had wanted to showcase Catalyst and the Ally building in this but decided to focus mainly on Trade, Tryon, and College. I shot this on Friday, September 3, 2010 between around 11:30 PM - 12:00 AM. Me, too! I was kind of wary of the tower at first since I thought it may not blend in with its surroundings but I love it now! It's actually one of my favorite skyscrapers now. Thanks for watching!
@Freewayjim I got a lot of my inspiration for this video from you. I borrowed your idea of speeding up the traffic at the traffic lights. I really like how you've done that in past videos! I am absolutely in love with the new Duke Energy Center shown in the beginning of the video. It's really cool that the LED's at the top and along the building light up and flash in Panther blue when they score. No more night games in Charlotte for the Panthers though this season to show that in a video :-/
@cam100595 While Atlanta has a smaller city population, it's metro population is 3x Charlotte's. Atlanta's city population cannot match Charlotte's growth rate, because the city cannot legally annex like it once was able to. On the other hand, Charlotte gobbles up land very quickly. It is one of the largest cities in the country in terms of land area.
I'm from Atlantic city nj i've lived in Charlotte since 95 i love this City this is a networking city you got to get out there and politic its not what you know its who you know
@AKim1217 Yes! I've already planned to do SouthPark next time I'm in the Charlotte area (likely on Black Friday so that video should be *very* interesting). I'm also looking at filming NoDa, Elizabeth, and Dilworth as well.
Why do people from Atlanta ALWAYS try to compare Charlotte to them? ITS TWO DIFFERENT CITIES THAT SO HAPPEN TO BE IN THE SOUTH!!! its not a competition. seriously.
@TheArthur899 In terms of banking and alternative energy, it already is! It's already the 18th largest city in the country and, the city is on track to have over a million people by itself by 2030 or so.
When i moved to charlotte, you didnt even have to dial 704, just the number! haha and bellsouth was the major provider besides TWC. Also one of my favorite tiesto mixes. side note... i can see the whole city skyline from my window, live right off 74
@PirataDeBoriquen Charlotte is *definitely* a great place to start a family. It is consistently rated as one of the best places to do so by magazines and research institutes. Also, Raleigh is an exceptional family city as well.
@FreewayBrent Thank you, bro! Funny you should say that as Uptown in the last few years was highly criticized for being too sterile and homogeneous. All of the LED's and neon you saw in the video has literally been put up in the last two years. I liked downtown LA from an architectural standpoint, but it was dead. I'll be down there again in about three weeks and may just do a night tour of the funky, eclectic neighborhoods like Elizabeth/Dilworth and NoDA.
Did you ever go to SouthEnd? While not as big or as 'artsy' as NoDa (N. Davidson St., there is an arts presence there. Sure, NoDa isn't that large for an arts neighborhoods compared to similar-sized cities, but it is growing/gentrifying rapidly every year. Compared to what it looked like a decade ago, you wouldn't recognize the area now. Give it another 5-10 years after the LYNX Blue Line Extension has been completed, and I think your opinion of Charlotte's art scene might change.
@MsAquarian81 I've been to LA before, and I liked the feel of the area. However, I love Charlotte a lot more for many reasons that I won't bore you with haha. It's definitely one of America's great cities!
You're right, I made the mistake of leaving my secure city gig in Atlanta and moving to Baltimore 3mths ago. As of now, still can't find a job but get a ton of interviews every week. I decided to go back to school and after I graduate I plan to move to Charlotte...sorry to get off topic, but like @Justice Allah stated don't move ANYWHERE until you have a job waiting you and you've got some money saved up in advance. The savings I had in Atl is what I'm living off of now, big mistake.
stay where u at i was just down there... like brother man said its a nice place, the ppl are very nice and friendly, it super quiet very inconvient and slow.
@erydiam I live in NYC but I've never been to Charlotte. Guessing from NYC which has 8 million people and Charlotte has about 2 million. I had a friend who drove thru Charlotte on his way to Atlanta, GA and he was telling me how much I would like Charlotte. I was surprised he boasted about Charlotte as he is from NYC too. But I guess it's worth checking out. I'd luv to go hang out and relax in Charlotte.
@sweetbabysophie Wait, UC has nightlife beyond UNCC parties? haha But, I do have a tour of SouthEnd, Elizabeth, Dilworth, and part of Myers Park coming up. I plan to go back soon and film NoDa.
@Newyorkcityfit haha yes, it is much, much cheaper than NY! I believe I read a statistic somewhere that said 1 out of every 4 people in Charlotte is from somewhere else. May be relocating to Charlotte soon. Love this City.
drummerchef851 I live near it’s absolutely beautiful
I'm relocating here at the end of the month. Thanks for the preview.
Nice Driving Video of Uptown Charlotte ! It is even more beautiful now !😀
Awesome!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Reminds me of being back home!! I miss Charlotte so much. Thank you so much for the great video!
I was just in Charlotte this past Thurs and Fri. I loved it. The neon pink building is beautiful at night.
@mjdubord Thanks! The song I used is "I Will Be Here (Wolfgang Gartner Remix)" by Tiesto. For future reference, the song info. is listed at the end of the video. :-)
Thank you Cosmophotography, you let me take a glimpse bake at my birth place and home town! :)
Nice video and I enjoyed the upbeat music. Felt like I was going out for some night life!
I have to say, this is an excellent video. There's a ton of color to Uptown Charlotte, from what I could see. Are you going to be filming any street tours of Charlotte's liveliest districts, away from Uptown? I'd love to see such a video in the future.
Excellent video, Downtown/Uptown Charlotte is coming along nicely from an architectural standpoint. Nice touch with the "Queen City" signs.
What a beautiful town. I like this video. Congratulations for the quality.
Take care,
Marcos
@supanovaMECCA It is *definitely* worth a visit! Make sure to check it out on a Friday or Saturday night. Thank you for watching!
Cool video! I really like the way you have the street signs incorporated into the video too!

Awesome video! Very nicely done! I'm moving to Charlotte soon and I've heard nothing but good things about it.
I loved your video,Charlotte is beautiful, would by cool if you could rise the 4 largest cities in Texas with the seame concept in this video :)
@sunshineunc Thank you! While I've learned a lot from Freewayjim, he's definitely the ultimate master when it comes to these kinds of videos. Are the streetlights blue? or is that just the lighting of the video
It's the lighting. Street lights in Charlotte are green.
im glad someone took the time to show charlottes night life i love it out here. next time maybe u can show charlotte's nightlife in university?
My goodness this the down town must be huge...I can get fro our down toen to the next in 10 min..geesh!...I enjoyed the video.
Amazing city, thanks for the tour ;)
,,,really like night time vids of US cities - lots of lights, people out and about, things happening, great stuff...
@dhcave haha don't worry about it! :-) Not many people in the US have heard of Charlotte and often confuse it with Charlottesville, VA or Charleston, SC. @thinkdeepr I wish you the best on your move and future endeavors. Charlotte is an awesome place to live! I'm glad you enjoyed and thank you for watching!
How come you don't do videos anymore?

But always common ret only ok
Green means go, not blue.

From ATL... Ready for a change... Hello Charlotte!!
Wow, first view! Awesome job!
I chose to leave this city for love. I now live in the UK. I have been in love and in the UK for 7 years. I still miss this city!!!!!
nice video. never been to Charlotte, Im from NYC. But I may check it out plus I've heard a few nice things about Charlotte.
just I can say that Charlotte is as big city as New York ..a pleasure to know it...
@Astoria1287 Thanks! I think Downtown started being referred to as Uptown in the late 80s or early 90s when city leaders were trying to bring people back downtown and rebrand it.
Good video, excellent captioning!
Please also try to re do this video during some festival days!
@LolaCrazy222 Anytime! I'm glad you enjoyed!
any other southern cities u plan on filming?
Awesome video. What tune is this?

@laovercash81 No problem! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
can't believe how much that place has changed in 13 years
@CosmoPhotography Thank you very much!! This information helps me a lot!!! :)
@Trionixxx I really appreciate that! Thank you!

@MrEarnie8 I haven't met one person yet that hasn't loved Charlotte. Welcome to the city and good luck on your move!
Wow!!! Looks like a pretty nice place to live and raise a family!! Am i wrong?? Thanks for the video!!! :)
Thinking of moving here originally from NY reminds me of home
I'm from Atlantic city nj i've lived in Charlotte since 95 i love this City this is a networking city you got to get out there and politic its not what you know its who you know

WOW! Charlotte is looking like a mini Atlanta! its so hard to belive Atlanta has a smaller city population than Charlotte.
@Trionixxx I appreciate that. Thank you!
@Ahhapictures Charlotte's street level activity has certainly increased in the last couple of decades. It's an exciting place to be for sure!
@TheArthur899 In terms of banking and alternative energy, it already is! It's already the 18th largest city in the country and, the city is on track to have over a million people by itself by 2030 or so.
im tryin mov to nc im from jersey city u think it better over there?
@nuocmat Thanks! The song is "I Will Be Here (Wolfgang Gartner Remix)" by Tiesto.

GREAT VID AND THE MUSIC WAS HOTT

How is the parking here?
The perfect music
Nice work ! Perhaps a video of Southpark area. If Southpark, it's better to film it during daylight. Streetscapes there is great...
@FreewayTitan Charlotte is definitely on the rise and is considered by many on the East Coast to be the next Portland.
@theratfarmer I've certainly never had an issue with the CMPD. They are a respectable agency. I'll be interested to see how they handle the 2012 DNC.
stay where u at i was just down there... like brother man said its a nice place, the ppl are very nice and friendly, it super quiet very inconvient and slow.
@Starnc31 hah umm...not quite. To me, Charlotte is most like a mini Atlanta if you had to compare it to a larger city.
Yeah, where can i find clubs there that play this type of house and trance music?
@erydiam
I live in NYC but I've never been to Charlotte. Guessing from NYC which has 8 million people and Charlotte has about 2 million. @Newyorkcityfit haha yes, it is much, much cheaper than NY! I believe I read a statistic somewhere that said 1 out of every 4 people in Charlotte is from somewhere else. Most of them are coming from NY and other points north anyway, so I know you'd feel right at some (I'm a partial transplant myself).
This reminds me of downtown Newark NJ
queen city my home i love it
