Nice little collection you've got there. When i was a kid I used to watch my uncle crank start an old three cylinder Lister irrigation pump, there was a decompression lever at the top of each head, he'd wind it over as fast as he could then flick the levers Ono by one and she'd fire up one cylinder at a time. It sounded awsome.
That’s awesome I’ll check it out and see if I can get it to go I’ll make a video of starting it, sounds very unique! Old school stuff there wouldn’t be too many left these days
Probably a few years I’d say I try to sell the stuff that I won’t get to or isn’t a priority so that I don’t end up with too much stuff rusting away, thanks for watching!
Gday mate , i have a big tip for you upon sand blasting the s2 kenny cab ,, do the frame 1st then recycle the worn garnet to do the cab , just screen it on a windy day to get the dirt n dust out of it , tip from one container to the other , until dust is gone and garnet starts to go red again , lower air pressure in the gun on the alloy panels , wave it constantly never keep it still on one spot,, it will heat and warp the alloy or just eat hole straight to it , replace bad rivets in body work before you bother starting any paint prep work , dont mix stainless metals with alluminium , this cause eletrolis , use alloy rivets in alloy panels only , prior to paint or primer treat the alloy to a very intensive clean to fully remove any chalky oxy , electrolis , rinse it like its you drinking cup, real good and blow every nook n cranny till its 1000% dry n dust free , wipe it with acetone , blow it throughly again and prime it
Great advice mate thanks for the info I’ve blasted heaps of steel but never alloy, I use crushed glass as it’s half the price of garnet and it becomes much less abrasive so I’ll do what you say and recycle it for the cab and take it easy, I’m going to buy a huck gun as most of the rivets have been sanded flat for previous paint jobs and they don’t look right along with a lot of loose and missing rivets, great advice can’t wait to make a start on it! Cheers mate
@@dieseldownunder. no worries mate , i,m phil anyways ,, i had 82 k124 med long , non aerodyne , had 450 hp maybe,, 15 direct box , reversed pattern , loved it once you got the pattern sunk in ya head , me and my brother restored everything but finishing the cab, our house sold and i had to get truck off property , anyway we removed what every we could from chassi , and i sand blasted it , put it thru treatment process , painted it an stored it away until chassi was blasted , treated etc painted then , bring all those stored bits from early on ,, call em new bits now , like a model kit you put it back together with ALL NEW BOLTS , never reuse the old streatched bolts , most will snap in the pulling apart process ,, we laughed at every bolt snapping off , undoing them , but its the bestest way to get shit real smart looking , and no rust scale ,, or rust jacking , before you sand blast chassi ,, get all grease off it ,, use a chisel if needed ,, reason is it will spoil chances of reuseing garnet
Awesome thanks Phil what part of Aus are you from? I agree I’m going to do it right new bolts screws huck rivets everything I don’t want anything to bleed rust or any paint to flake off so it will be done properly! Yep I always spend a day or two hot washing underneath I spent 2 whole days underneath my scania washing that thing before blasting but it’s worth it for the end result
Have recently found your channel and am really liking it. You said that you replaced the 1hz out of your cruiser with a 12 valve. I’m guessing that’s a Cummins 12 valve? Do you have any videos on the conversion? Keep it up mate
Hey mate yes Cummins 12 valve or 6bt if you have a look at my tik tok “6bt079” there is a few videos of it on there, I will do a UA-cam video on it one day as I have a heap more jobs to do to it. Cheers
Hey mate thankyou for the offer I actually got another engine for the roller and have fixed it already! Do you have any other trucks or earthmoving gear laying around? Cheers
Really enjoyed that one. Mick T London
Thanks

I have heard that I’ll have to ask the place where I get my blast sand from and see if they have any
