Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy todays video sharing our take on the Chalet design style. The views of some of these homes are just so stunning it makes me want to book a trip to a Chalet for a future holiday! Which tip was your favourite? Let us know in the comments below what other styles you would like to see next xx If you are passionate about styling and creating a home you love, I invite you to take our complimentary style quiz to discover your style personality: www.suzieandersonhome.com/pages/interior-styling-quiz-2020
A perfect video for these grey cold days. Even though we don’t get snow the ideas apply to warm up our homes. There is always one more item we could add for that cosy comfort.
I’ve always wanted to live in an A-frame chalet type house. But I live in mid Missouri USA and really hardly ever see snow anymore. I’m building an 800 square-foot small home with a loft and 14 foot ceilings so I could incorporate some of these ideas but on a much smaller scale. This video was quite inspiring. Thanks
That sounds divine! What a shame you don’t get to see the snow. We very rarely get it where we live and if it ever snows it doesn’t last long on the ground. I would love to see images of your house when it is complete! Thanks for watching. Suzie x
Though many design styles seem to have many things in common, your detailed videos enlightened me on the uniqueness of each style. These homes are heavenly for earthly beings! I love this style more than anything else! Thanks for sharing this video.
Hello Sethu, I am so glad to hear you are able to find appreciation of each style whilst noticing the differences as well :) Yes definitely for earthly beings, with the stunning landscape and natural surroundings xx
Hi Suzie, thanks for the wonderful library of videos. Watching one is part of my relaxation time each day and I’ve adopted many of the suggestions in my home. It would be wonderful if you would produce a small home office video as so many of us adopt a new approach to working following the COVID years.
Hello Helen! You are so welcome and we enjoy sharing these design styles. I can imagine your home must look so lovely and I am so glad you are able to incorporate some of these design tips in your own space. We did do a home office video awhile ago however it is in definitely need of an update so we will add that suggestion to our video ideas xx
This style is by far one of the COZIEST I love how you have distinguished each interior style. It really helped me to understand. Interior design overall I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. THEY ARE VERY AESTHETICALLY PLEASING AND INFORMATIVE. Thanks. Greetings from Canada🇨🇦
Hello Linda, you are so right, it is definitely one of the cosiest styles with the warm woods and plush textures. I am happy to hear these videos support your passion for interior design! Hope to visit Canada again sometime soon xx
Hello Susie. Good morning to you. I kept going back over and over to different parts and soaking in every detail as this is really my kind of style so I thoroughly enjoyed it and I wanted you to know that I appreciate all that you share in each video. It’s also very calming. Do keep up the good work. I applaud you for all of your knowledge that you share.
Hello Fiona, what a lovely compliment to receive. I appreciate your kind words and so glad you are learning whilst feeling inspired. We look forward to sharing more xx
Very popular in the US for mountain and lakeside homes. Certainly a well loved style on the Great Lakes where we can enjoy both the snow and the summer lake. It's going to be 100°F here this week in the Midwest so this was a perfect cool down.
I am glad the video was able to offer some refreshment from the very warm weather you are experiencing! Definitely, I feel like this style is more reflective of the US + Canadian mountain chalets than the Swiss but still very inviting xx
I’m in Canada and I agree that this style is very popular here especially north of the Great Lakes in cottage country. One obvious giveaway of a photo of a Canadian cottage is a Hudson’s Bay blanket/throw set over a sofa or bed. I enjoy your calm videos and atmospheric music and photos.
Hello Arthur, I am happy to hear you enjoyed this video! Have you taken our complimentary style quiz yet? While it doesn't include all the styles we have covered, it may provide a further insight into your style :) www.suzieandersonhome.com/pages/interior-styling-quiz-2020
Hi Suzie watching from NY where we still have a house. What a dream to live or spend time in a place like the one you show in this video. (0:54 or 3:53). Just beautiful 👋
Hello Martha, I hope you have been well. Definitely a dream (hopeful future reality) to live or visit a home with views and interiors like these! So stunning and close to nature xx
Thank you Bubbles, I am so glad you are enjoying the videos and find something new when you watch them :) We did do a video on Alfresco style decorating here but will hopefully do an updated one soon: ua-cam.com/video/YZcTOa60_cI/v-deo.html xx
As someone from Australia I always find the snowy outlook shown in these pictures so stunning and can definitely dream of being surrounded by this! However I can imagine the day-to-day of snow storms and cold could be gruelling too! Is Spring/Summer your favourite seasons? xx
@@suzieandersonhome Yes, the long winters can be quite miserable at times! But that icy stillness can be beautiful too. Spring/Summer is definitely more appealing to me. Autumn, as well, can be quite spectacular in Atlantic Canada where I'm from. I guess we're lucky to experience the full spectrum of seasons - I just wish it skewed a little longer on the Spring/Summer and a little shorter on the Autumn/Winter. Lovely to hear from you! xo
@@27Spiritgirl I can imagine the warmer months allows for more options to explore the natural surroundings where Ski sports may not appeal to everyone. I would love to visit Canada again to hike! Have a lovely week ahead xx
Hello Sharon! Thank you for your comment. That is a bag we sell in our store, called the Canvas travel bag and the brand is Citta design xx I am happy you like the colour palette too :)
I love your videos. You’re doing an awesome job with them. They are some of the best I know on yt. As a Swiss I have a different perception of a Chalet though. What I see in your video seem to be American mountain homes. Still beautiful nonetheless.
Hello Subriha, thank you for your support and encouragement. You make a great point - on reflection I also agree the photos in the video leant more towards the American and Canadian chalet / mountain homes. I am still happy to hear you found beauty :) Do you have any styles you would love to see covered? xx
I love this style. My husband is from Northern Idaho, USA, and it’s in the mountains with the very gorgeous, and very deep, Lake Coeur d’Alene. We thought about trying to retire there, but prices have gone up astronomically in the past few years. We have mountains around us here in Northern Arizona, but house styles lean toward desert, or Southwestern style. Have you covered desert styles? I’m not sure what would be the proper name.
I also love this style, mainly the use of natural materials and how it blends in with the surrounding landscape. What a stunning environment it sounds like your husband is from - having both the mountains and lake. We haven't yet covered desert styles but it has been suggested a few times so we hope to cover it in the future xx
Not my cup of tea.......logs and horns don't work for me........but i did like some of the vignettes......Thanks for another great videos design class.......
All beautiful but as I scroll through the multiple design styles there’s a common theme amongst all of them regarding color palette, mixing old and new, layering textures & lighting, natural fibers, etc. etc. Basically everything that’s trending now…
Hi Mimi! Interesting, thank you for sharing. That is actually encouraging to me as that has always been my approach to styling! It helps create a more lives in feel and often a more sustainable way to purchase rather than everything brand new xx
I'd like to request how to deal with hobby spaces that are in entertaining areas. Piano and guitars, turntable and records, big screen for movies, game tables... activities that guests join in with. Not the man or girl cave stuff that tends to be more individual and kept behind doors.
Hi Julie, thank you for your video recommendation! I will add to our video wishlist as this is something we had to work on at home as well - with pianos, guitars, games e.t.c. xx
Thanks for your feedback Susan. It is actually a mix of both. The Style of Chalet Style was the focus not specific to a Country. I appreciate you watching and hope you found it enjoyable nevertheless. Suzie

It definitely is a cosy style, especially with all the texture and beautiful layering. So true Colin! xx

Another beautiful video. I live in British Columbia, so all of this is very familiar.

Thank you for your support as always! It means a lot xx
Another Masterclass. I really love watching this channel. BlessYou, Mrs Anderson.
Thank you Carlos! Xx
I love the natural yet rough earthy textures..simply rich and exquisite!
The layered look is so visually and physically appealing isn't it! It makes you want to spend long afternoons by the fire xx
