The RR is Trashed!

- We had a big storm blow through with wind gusts up to 76 mph, we lost power for near a day, and it left a big mess. The neighbors fence even took a big hit. The RR is now buried in wet leaves, twigs and branches. In this video the crew flies a drone to give an aerial view of the damage so we can start planning the cleanup.

Wow! you've got some serious restoration and clean up in your future! Good luck!
Wow That is quite a bit of repair work to do. I certainly hope you and the railroad will be back in operation soon. Best of luck to your clean up crew.
Quite a mess but you do have a great clean up crew. Looking forward to seeing the first runs on it when it's back in working order.
Mine looks the same... leaves are a given...I did get a couple big branches on the pike.. 6 trees came down else were on the property so the pike will have to wait... It's fun running saws..almost as fun as trains... :)
Luckily we didn't have any trees come down. It could have been a lot worse. It is fun cutting and splitting wood. A good healthy workout.
That is a lot of damage. Just tell the smurfs that a beer train can't get through until the tracks are cleared, they will do the job fast!! hehehehehehe
Such a shame but maybe it looks worse than it is. Clearing the trash from the lines should help a lot. Hope you are running again soon
The mess of twigs etc. has been cleared and with 2 more sessions with the leaf blower trains are once again running. Fall is a tough time for an outdoor RR.
problebly should get the MOW crews out there soon
dang that is some damage
The real damage was being without power for 2 days. At least you're big trees are still standing. We started cleanup yesterday. Looks like some fence repair is on the list. How is your acorn collection? We must have tens of thousands this year. Crazy.
We do have plenty of acorns but not enough to run an acorn train like we did a few years back.
@@CapeCodTrainTodd I can bring you some of mine if you would like? I can probably fill 2 fifty five gallon drums just from the front yard.
@@peteengard9966 No thanks I have plenty! HA!
That crazy
That is one thing we do not deal with in Phoenix. Just heat that eats up RR Ties!
Time to get out the leaf blower?
Put a camera on a flatcar and film a time lapse of you clearing the lines
I got a big chunk of the yard and half the RR cleaned out today and then ran out of energy and sunlight. I wanted to run something but it didn't work out.
What happened?
We had a powerful storm come through with wind gusts like a hurricane. There was a lot of leaves and small branches down all over the RR but no real damage. There were some large trees in my town and surrounding area that were toppled with some damaging houses and cars. It happens but at least no one was seriously injured.
@@CapeCodTrainTodd dang that sucks but at least it’s nothing too bad
@@clevelandrailfan9776 This time of year is tough to run an outdoor RR with all the junk falling out of the trees. The storm actually helped blow it down in one go Vs several weeks of raking leaves and picking up sticks.
@@CapeCodTrainTodd ok, I love you vids so thx for doing this
Awful. Beyond awful.
