Back in the day when this was on I was a kid so it looked perfectly natural to see them running to a pay phone but now all I can think (and with all my 60's and70's shows) how much more convenient it is to have smart phones. The parents would each have one and at least Greg and Marsha would have one so it would be easy to check in with the kids to make sure everything was ok. I can imagine the kids getting rather impatient and texting back "Yeah mom, we're still ok just like we were when you texted 5 minutes ago!" LOL
Too bad no cell phones or surveillance cameras were around yet.Nowadays you can have surveillance cameras in your home in each room and monitor the footages on your phone to keep an eye on your kids.
Is that such a bad thing? “Back in the day” it was rare that you had home invasions/B&E. You could leave your doors unlocked, cars included. Nowadays people just don’t know how to respect others and leave people alone. How the world is now we’re basically FORCED to beef everything up with cameras and security. Plus, “Back in the day” when someone actually DID break in someone’s home or stole someone’s car nobody had proof to show for. All everyone had “Back in the day” was the word of mouth and even that wouldn’t be enough to solve crimes. Why do you think there’s ALOT of unsolved crimes cases ever since the 20’s?
Mike and Carol were very uncomfortable on their first dinner date because the kids were alone and Cindy had the sniffles! They should have cancelled their dinner date!
Yeah we old fogey baby boomers know all about pay phones where you have to dial like that instead of just push the buttons for the numbers. But we are very happy with our smart phones TYVM!
Carol looks great in that little black dress. 😊
Mike looks good in that suit too.
@@RJS1974I'll say they are both absolutely fabulous.
Mr. Brady looks fantastic.
❤I love the Brady Bunch so much ❤️
That pay phone is everything.
❤❤😂😅😊 hi I loved how they kept calling the kids to see if they were ok👨👩👧👧👍

The tax is on the cover charge. 😂
I know...crazy, right? 😂😂🤦♂️😏
Classic. 🤣
Life before Call Waiting.
Back then, you would’ve had the operator break in through the phone line. 📞
OMG I forgot all about that. So 70s!
Did Phone Companies charge by the minute back then? Jan was running up the Bill.
Carol was smokin!

Gloria? Sure, Jan. Her last name "Glass" too?
Pay phones rules
It use to be ten cents to call someone on a pay phone.
was this in the 60s?
@@purefoldnz3070 No. early 70’s. The Brady Bunch premiered from 1969-1974 and this would not have been the first season.
@@Michael-uv6cn everyone is dressed like its the 60s
@@purefoldnz3070 it was probably 1970. I was six years old and watched it back in the day. Close enough
Payphones where better than cellphones and people communicated better than today
Not really but ok
Strongly disagree
how
Kids didn't cheat on their tests
Not even close lol.
The kids like Abalone?
No call waiting?
haha, no.
My family didn’t have call waiting at our house until around 1990.
1970
Call waiting wasn’t even thought of then

Every single person in America would look at that phone and say .... df is that?? Cept boomers ha.
or those with somewhat of a 5th grade education.
Not just boomers.
Um, Gen X and millennials lived in a world of cell phones

Cover charge in a restaurant?
Yep, especially fancy restaurants back then. There may still be some that do that now.💁🏻♀️
They lied to each other
Why not send a text message ? duh?
Lol.
Very uneventful night out, kept excusing themselves.
Too bad there no after date sex.
ideat
Oh there was, but not with each other
Sure there was. Mike’s boyfriend met him in the garage after Carol went to bed.
Well it's obvious which UA-cam commenters were SA'd as children and never healed.
If so, that is strictly private.
