My apologies for not properly capturing how I released the cover, I think you just may need a stronger plastic pry tool. I believe the one I use regularly came from Harbor Freight.

Bro decided to film this in a black hole hard to see anything...to remove the assembly it's super easy pop of the rear plastic cover of the console and it'll reveal five Philips screws and two ten mil bolts remove them then you can peel off the top in glorious light!!! I didn't do that I just replaced the assembly for a better one for $60 in and out in 10 minutes easy peasy

This seems to be a common problem. I know the whole box is a ridiculous $500 but can't you just order the whole lid?
I don't think so. So reskinning the lid was the cheapest and most cost effective solution!
Where did you order the replacement cover from? Is that Honda/Acura OEM or is there a third party provider? Thanks!
