I know this is a comment on an old video of yours, but this showed up in my recommended today so I thought I'd give it a watch--I'm so glad I did. I usually never comment on videos, but I just had to say something about this one. Firstly, please don't listen to the people who complain about the constant pausing and rewinding; they are probably used to less lengthy and detailed reaction videos. I, for one, greatly appreciate how much time you took to fully take in each music video--it proves that you truly care about understanding each artists' work. What a shame it would be if all the effort the staff and artist put into the production only led to a one-and-done viewing! My second comment ties into the first. I am a huge Taemin (and SHINee) fan, so I'm always excited to see others' first impressions of them. Your reaction videos really stood out to me, not only because of the amount of care you put into your commentary, but also how perceptive you are. You caught onto many of the themes, and I was surprised at how quickly you realized that Criminal and Idea were connected, even though you watched them out of order! Several of the more casual reaction channels I've watched didn't catch onto many of the important details. You were curious about the sculpture in the background of Criminal. While I don't believe it has a name, it is very reminiscent of ”Ex Nihilo” by Frederick Hart, a piece symbolizing emergence from chaos and eternal metamorphosis. Also, I have no idea if you noticed, but in part 1 of your first look into Taemin, he is dancing in front of an elaborate sculpture/set of doors during the last chorus of Want. This is a real piece called ”The Gates of Hell” by Auguste Rodin. Just from the name alone, I think you can see how this ties into that biblical theme of temptation and the snake. I adore how classical elements have been incorporated into many of his music videos, it just adds an extra level of spice to the whole thing. I would like to thank you again for taking so much time looking into not only Taemin, but other artists as well, and showing your appreciation for them so thoroughly and thoughtfully! I'm very sorry for this essay of a comment, but I wanted to write down everything that is going on in my head right now. I hope you'll continue this series (and maybe react to some more of Taemin's and SHINee's stuff), because I very much enjoyed your video!
Wow lindy….thank you so much. You have no idea how exhausted I am of explaining why I pause and the frustration that I have when I have to remove a comment that says “you pause too much” when I’m sitting there explaining why I love what I’m seeing. Your comment made me realize I’m doing something right. Thank you for adding the details that I missed! Totally didn’t know that about the sculpture in the criminal MV! 🤯🤯 - I’m planning on going through all of his music when I have a chance to fully dive deep like he deserves! Hope you stick around to witness it with me! 💕
Thank you for articulating my thoughts as well, Lindy! I'm very much enjoying Caitlin's channel, especially her reactions to Taemin and SHINee, but definitely her passion and enthusiasm 💜 that I find inspiring as a new semester begins....
@@caitlinbensonn I love your reactions to Taemin. I am 61 and pretty much (in my head) react in the same way. I also love the humor of your spontaneous response, personifying what I think is all of our core response to him. He is 1 of my 3 current favorite artists. The others being Hua Chen-yu, and Dimash Qudaibergen who I - and many others - consider to be the best vocalist alive today. It would be great if you did reactions to them too. For Dimash start with S.O.S at Slavic Bazaar
Caitlin: "I've never seen him hip thrust that hard before in my entire life." Shawols: -coughs- Sexuality -coughs- Press your number -coughs- Chocolate and Feel Good with SHINee. If u ever gets the time to watch these videos (mv/ live stages) by your own, I wish you good luck. And if u manage to survive, watch his Heaven and Holy Water live for cleansing. 🤭
@@treasure7262 ah ok I thought he was 1 year younger or summit but it's hard to know all lol. But SM do know how to find them young treasures man, I can respect that😂
Move was a cultural reset but honestly all of taemin’s music deserves equally huge recognition. He is such a legendary artist with a flawless discography. Thank you for your reaction and looking forward to your shinee reaction.
As of right now I cannot add anymore groups to my channel that aren’t the 6 groups that I already react to. I’m still editing everything on my own for the time being and I don’t want to overwhelm myself. I will be looking at the following groups for the end of season 1 for the First Look series (Shinee , Treasure, Red velvet, & seventeen) and then I’ll be focusing on the groups I always react to for awhile. Other than that I won’t have time to look at any other groups. Eventually I’ll get to them but not for a while. Hope you can understand! Taemin is incredible and I’m definitely a fan! 💕
@@iambored3031 I don’t think Born To Shine is necessary to react to as she has very limited slot to react besides it’s only a solo act by Key, we should recommend songs from SHINee as a group. If later part she wants to dive into Key as solo artist then she can react to Born To Shine with Key’s other songs. I hope you’d agree too.
@@elea45hinee57 born to shine and internet war are some videos I'd love to see a reaction to, but they're ehm very special. I think there're other performances Caitlin could watch first to get to know shinee more. But yes Caitlin if you do watch them please film your reaction. That would be probably the funniest video in the series 😁
The fact that your reacting to six groups in itself is a lot so thank you so much for also looking into Taemin and other groups in your first look series ❤️.
"Move" is the song that broke Kpop and their gender cultural norms. It was that BIG! Taemin stated in an interview that he did this to demonstrate that dancing is gender neutral and should not be segregated into male and female roles. EVERY idol, variety show host, and others covered "Move". They were obsessed with it. In fact, groups and individuals are still covering the song today. The ironic thing about it was that in 2017 when it was released the song never won any awards - to the eternal shame of the award shows. However, the group SF9 just won first place on "Kingdom" for their rendition of it. Prior to their performance, Chani of SF9 called Taemin and asked him if they could do a cover of it and if Taemin had any advice about how to do it. Taemin was surprised they wanted to do "Move" rather than a more fast-paced song. However, his advice was for SF9 to make the song their own with their own color. Then Taemin, always being the sweet sunbae who supports his juniors, stated that he would be watching them and supporting them. Fun Fact: The "Move" MV director stated that Taemin danced in the rain for 18 hours! The director said afterwards he felt sorry that he stipulated in the proposal that he wanted at least 18 hours, but Taemin never complained or balked at doing it. He just DID IT. The director said that he would never ask such a thing from any other artist again, as he didn't think any other could pull it off and complete it like Taemin. You can see them talking about this in the mini-doc on YT, "The Artist: Taemin". Yes, "Criminal" is tied to "IDEA". In fact, it's an entire storyline: "2 Kids" = prologue; "Criminal" = Act 1; "IDEA" = Act 2; "Advice" = epliogue. "2 Kids", "Criminal" & "IDEA" are part of his 2020, 2-pt. album, "Never Gonna Dance Again", which is a MASTERPIECE. "Advice" is his latest mini-album of the same name. In "2 Kids", we see the schism of the egos. A split happens and one whole becomes two that break apart. The Taemin from his debut at 14 YO till now and the Taemin he wants to become. It's a breakup song stating his new ego wants to grow beyond the Taemin he has been for the past 13 years. It's time to go beyond what he has been. "Criminal's" concept is Stockholm syndrome where Taemin is both the criminal and the victim. This is why you see him dressed and appear as a "criminal" but is also tied up like a victim. Two egos in his mind that love each other as they are a part of one person, but struggling for dominance. "IDEA" was the climactic battle between the two where the victim finally rises to prominence and "kills" the criminal ego. "Advice" is the aftermath. The criminal ego is depicted through scenes of a hellish atmosphere, while the victim rises in a heaven-like setting. If you thought "Move" & "Thirsty" were sexy, you'll never survive "Slave" and "Sexuality"!
Oh my goodness thank you for the wonderful explaination. When i was watching teamin's mv's I can't literally understand what is the song about or the mv about because some songs have no english sub and i find it hard to understand. Even though i was watching it everyday i just can't understand what the mv's or the song all about. Hope you'll continue to explain other songs too or your can make your own yt account and makes some reviews or make article about taemin songs cause most of the the people find it hard to catch up with Taemin's distinct mv and song it's just so new. It's so different from other kpop artists.
Some fun facts about Move/Taemin: - As shocking as it is now, it was even more shocking when it was first released. He revived this slow type of sexy dance during a time when sexy = aggressive hip movements - Move’s debut stage was at a fashion show, where there’s a famous fan cam of idols literally being shookethed - When Taemin debuted, he was known for having his beautiful features. However, the compliments were always conveyed like “you’re so pretty like a girl”. It became a huge insecurity for him to the point that he felt he had to behave extra macho. Move was him taking this huge insecurity of his and making it into one of his greatest defining strengths. Not to mention, he challenged the very notion of “masculinity”, particularly in the form of dance - Move because a cultural phenomenon, not just because of the MV, but because the dance was so widely covered by virtually every K-POP artist, it became termed as the “move disease” - Although Move is his most recognizable song and it would be easy for Taemin to create another song with similar elements (sexy song with an easy but catchy dance), his choreo has only gotten more complicated because Taemin highly values following the unique concept he selects for each comeback. Although Taemin has an incredibly talented team (most often personally hand picked by him), he is credited for being very involved with all the elements - from the choreo, fashion styling, MV direction, singing style, etc. It’s very evident whenever there interviews with his staff or in the bts clips. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. I’ll be here all week.
Girl I feel like your spirit is being worn down by your comments. I can see it in your intros, I can feel it in your lives. I hope everything is going okay in your life otherwise. But you just seem so down about it. Please stay healthy and happy. You are such a light in people's lives, remember that!
It’s something that I’m working on. I can’t promise that I won’t be effected by what someone says but I’m definitely working on it. Sometimes I need to address something so that i can have people understand but I’m putting in measures to protect my mind mentally I promise! I’m honestly a lot better than before. Thank you for the encouragement and love Audrey! I appreciate it! 😭🥺💕
A few things you should know about this: - Criminal is about the Stockholm Syndrome - 2 Kids' dance was completely made up/improvised on the spot by him, there is no choreography - 2 Kids is more like a pre-release promo song to Not Gonna Dance Again (his album) and it was shot in 1 day in between his Paris and London concerts with SuperM - Yes he wrote 2 Kids and has a lot of creative input in his works in general (he is also responsible for making Criminal MV with the director he chose himself) - You've been reacting to the videos backwards, so it's 2 Kids -> Criminal -> IDEA -> Advice in terms of order of release
@@inantarctica ...um what? No, Taemin himself said it's about Stockholm Syndrome, this isn't some fan theory but a fact lol even SM promoted articles about it ... IDEA is also confirmed to be about Plato's Cave Theory
Edit: If you want a part three, I highly suggest: Famous, Drip Drop, Sexuality (Live) and a reaction to his full 2nd and full 3rd albums. For real, after SHINee, I hope to God you get into Jonghyun. Truly a musical genius and probably the best and most unique voice in Korea. 🌹❤️
Thanks for the reactions! Pleasant surprise getting it so soon after the last Taemin video. Please don't let the comments making requests or demands stress you out. This is your channel and you should watch whatever you want to watch at whatever pace suits you. There will always be people who don't watch or don't pay attention if you say not to make requests or you won't be reacting to something. There will also be those who decide they still want to recommend stuff in the hopes that you'll change your mind or that you'll keep track of the requests and get to it eventually. Even if your subscribers are supporting you in a way, they are still getting content for free - so you don't owe them anything. Just have fun, then we'll have fun watching you :)
"take a small bite" girl he wore pants that said "open here" at some point, this is nothing lmao Also yes, the Michael Jackson vibe is a huge part of Taemin's dance style, you can see it through his whole career and is a big inspiration for him. There are so many reasons this man is my ultimate bias. Taemint forever. ♥
Welcome to world of Taemin. He is the artist of artists, you already realized. There is no one like him and he inspires too much is incredible. Also I hope and need you to do a third, fourth part and all that are necessary of this Because there is a lot to see from Taemin, apart from the sexy, creative side there are his ballads that are supreme because he is so emotional when singing that he transmits too much. Also I look forward to your reaction to SHINee and you will see Taemin's growth and also appreciate all the members. Thank you for taking the time to make this video and appreciate Taemin's art.
Btw if you're going to react to SHINee, could you react to some of their LIVE stages? "Excuse Me Miss" is definitely a popular one! SHINee are known as one of the best *live performers in Kpop, they can keep their vocals real stable no matter how crazy their choreographies get and shawols (SHINee's fandom) are proud of their performing skills! So, please, don't be afraid of checking out their concert stages! ^_^ love your reactions btw!
You are such an incredibly thoughtful person and your analysis of these mvs is almost always spot on! I love your reactions thanks for continuing to check out Taemin. I think you can tell that he doesn't have a single miss in his title tracks. I definitley recommend you listen to his albums in your free time because the title tracks are nothing compared to the absolute genius in his b-sides. I hope you have a lovely day!
When you paused and had your eyes closed I said out loud "She is gonna die when she opens her eyes and sees that screen shot!". Then you opened your eyes and freaked. I laughed so hard. Awesome reaction!! Taemin is truly an artist....period. ❤
Omg I usually don’t like a lot of reactors because it seems like they’re just reacting well to a group or soloist bc they know that’s what the fans want but I really like that you actually explain why you like it. It makes it so much more genuine and it means a whole lot more to someone who loves Taemin and SHINee lmao. Plus you crack me tf up when he’s bein sexy keep it up legend behavior
Criminal is the lead single from his album "Never gonna dance again Act 1" and Idea is the lead single from "Never gonna dance again Act 2" That's why Criminal gives you Idea-vibes or more correct "Idea" gives "Criminal"- vibes. Criminal symbolizes the "HELL" Everything is red and the lava on the floor etc. Idea symbolizes "HEAVEN" Everything is white, Taemin´s outfit in Idea is white, etc.
10:12 hahahaha OMG 🤣🤣🤣 I DIED... I was screaming at the screen for you to look where you paused! That was gold. ❤ I already made a long comment on Part 1 of your reaction to Taemin so I'll just say I am SO EXCITED for next week SHINee!!!! 💎 and reminder to at least look into the significance of 12/18/17 of SHINee history even if you don't want to look up anything else about the group beforehand. I think it's just something important to know before you react to them. Thanks for this reaction!
Taemin is not only the sexy and creative guy, you have not yet entered the world of his ballads, emotional songs with excellent stage performances, with his comforting music where you can appreciate his incredible vocal skills. So I hope you do a third part. And there's still a lot you haven't seen of him. Taemin is unique in the music industry, presenting something new and innovative at the level that he does and with the passion involved is impressive. Nobody tells him GOD, Ace of Ace, The King of kpop without reason, although at this rate he is already more than that..
43:41 you never saw him thrust his hips so hard?? You need to watch Taemin 'Sexuality' live perform, i sugested from his 1st solo concert @Nippon budokan
i always found fascinating the way criminal was written. Like it’s truly really captivating knowing that it’s about the stockholm syndrome. Really enjoyed your reaction !!
Criminal always felt like a Michael Jackson tribute to me. You're spot on with the Thriller comparisons. If you watch the full choreo (live stage or dance practice) you'll spot more movements that are clearly inspired by MJ--and Thriller more specifically. I believe Taemin once mentioned in an interview that MJ was the reason he wanted to enter the industry too, so it all ties together.
He is the epitome of androgyny! You should check out his Billboard interview about Gender Stereotypes and he is truly a trailblazer when it comes to modern masculinity and redefining it. “My aim was to find a middle ground, mixing both masculine and feminine movements into the choreography together.” He also elaborated on androgyny in an Allure Magazine interview: "If makeup highlights and empowers my unique appeal, why not use it? For me, I think there is no absolute standard on masculinity."
When I forced my mother in law and sister in law to watch taemin for the first time they asked me who he was and I said "this is taemin. He is important." Taemin is important. Love that you love him so much cuz same.
I fell in love with Taemin's artistry the first time I saw Move, then it was like the rabbit hole. He has so many wonderful songs and also his live performances are amazing and insane.
Honestly, I wasn't into celebrities, artists etc... I loved music but mostly, just the songs Then one day I came across Taemin and was mesmerised... words can't describe him or his art. He's really, just, Taemin. ;-;
What a joy that you have discovered the King of Kpop and the best soloist of all time. Basically Taemin is a musical revolutionary who dared to challenge the music, art and dance industry like no one else is doing and of course that is an inspiration for anyone. You definitely have to do the third part and many more so that you know and see everything that you lack from him and I am excited for SHINee. I suggest: press your number, sayonara hitori, Back to you (VCR), Black Rose (The stage), under my skin. And there is still more. Thank you for appreciating Taemin's art and I look forward to another reaction to him.
You're always like "This is my favorite Taemin song" in almost all his songs and that is understandable 🤣. I really hope you can react to his group too SHINee. Personal favorites are View, Sherlock, Everybody and their latest Don't Call Me. And their LIVE performances are PERFECTION.
i'm sorry people were being obnoxious/demanding about doing these reactions😞 you definitely don't deserve that at all. but i do really appreciate you doing this part 2! ever since he went into the military i've been drowning in my taemin feels and these reactions have helped me stay afloat lol. it's always great to see something that makes you happy, make someone else happy too. especially when they're as hilarious and entertaining as you💜 take care of yourself!!💜
Lol, I remember in Anitra"s live the other day telling you, that you have to watch this lol. Also, it is amazing seeing one of my favorite reactors, "freak out", over one of my favorite artists.
if someone were to film me reacting to Taemin's MVs, I swear it would take forever for me to finish one mv. you'd see me screaming, crying, pausing, rewinding, messaging friends to watch it, recording a small clip to make it as a gif, taking a screenshot, pausing again to take everything in and admiring him, repeating it again because I realize I watched it without lyrics or in low quality. I'm not even kidding.
Love your reactions cause they are so me, I think I died a couple of times while watching this KING!!!! This man is unique, nobody else can pull Taemin but Taemin!!!!!! This man is walking ART, he is my cult!!!! So glad you got to enjoy his craft, he is one of a kind!!!! Can’t wait for you to react to Shinee and Super M 😍😍😍
Thank you for this great reaction. I've been waiting! Fun fact. In Criminal, which is inspired by Stockholm Syndrome, he said 'Destroy me more'. This can also be heard as 'Run away from me.' The two sentences sound similar in Korean. Taemin confirmed this. So, pick whichever applies lol. And yes 2kids' dance is improv.
His album 'Move' is just a gem, from beggining to end. As a side note, I always enjoy your reactions, keep on the amazing work (at your own pace, of course).
Girl, I hope that you have seen Press Your Number, Drip Drop, Sayonara Hitori and Flame of Love by now. Not that you have to react but just as a fan. Those are amazing too. 👍🏾
I always find it funny that no matter how many times I’ve seen idols cover Move, it’s never quite as good as when Taemin does it. I feel like they generally all miss the point and just focus on being sexy when move is a lot more than just that.
"get him a towel" lmfao yea your reaction was me first try on this MV but i changed my mind asap after finished it. now i watch it every month since it came out ;w; hes just so talented and sexy. he got moves
I second this! Sexuality blew my mind because it was so straight forward! His live performances are even more nuts than his MVs. Also his Japanese tracks/performances are even spicier than his Korean ones, if you can believe it...
TAEMIN IS THE BEST AND THE KING SOLOIST IN KPOP AND ONE OF THE BEST TRUE ARTIST IN THE WORLD. THERE IS STILL SO MUCH YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HIM. HE IS A WORLD CLASS PERFORMER AND ONE OF THE BEST DANCER AND IS MORE THAN DEMONSTRATED. NOBODY IS AT THE ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE LEVEL THAT ONLY HE CAN TO INNOVATE IN MUSIC AND THEREFORE IT IS AN INSPIRATION FOR THE WORLD AND NOT JUST KPOP. SEE HOW HE TAKES RISKS TO REVOLUTIONIZE MUSIC AND ART IS UNBELIEVABLE. PLEASE MAKE A THIRD PART OF THE ART OF TAEMIN, I SUGGEST MVs: "PRESS YOUR NUMBER" "DRIP DROP" "SAYONARA HITORI" "GOODBYE" AND I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT REACTION TO THE KINGS OF SHINee. THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT TAEMIN MARATHON.
If you ever feel like you need a breather from the super sexy and instead wanna feel like you're on a nice date with Taemin in Paris then Think of You is a wonderful MV, although you'll probably squeal because of the cuteness instead! Side note, there's plenty of hip thrusting to go around :3 Also don't let people rush you. Some are nice suggestions but a lot of people can be downright pushy. Take care of yourself!
Thank you so much for your reactions so good to watch. Taemin is everything and more, vocals, visuals, dance and performance he gives it his all. He is a credit to the music industry. Just a note for yourself when you have spare time watch his live performance of his song Sexuality in Budokan (wearing stripey suit) you'll need a bucket of ice afterwards 🥵🤣. Take care.
Fun fact, the news announcers in the background of Criminal are actual bits of news instead of just being random, that bit was Taemin’s idea. :) I’m really waiting for you to see something like his “Think Of You” MV (also filmed while he was in France) to see his duality. He can be so intense but also so soft. 💙 His live performance of Into The Rhythm from 2019 really highlights how much fun he & his dancers have together. Thanks for the reaction! I hope you can watch more in the future but no rush.
When you get a chance on your own time, I highly recommend checking out Move #3. it's the performance version where he's dancing with the choreographer, Koharu, and it is MESMERIZING. Out of the 3 versions, while I love the MV, #3 is my favorite because there is so much synergy between him and Koharu. Move is such a masterpiece that I'm still crying about it 3 years later. Thanks for the reaction!
Hands down the BEST reaction ever on UA-cam (especially Thristy). He makes you feel soooo many emotions and have a physical reaction. Like, seriously....girl you're the best. Love you!
Hey Caitlin, I don't think you gonna read this comment cause it's been so long, but in the case you do (and everybody else reading it) I strongly recommend you watch Taemin in Jaejae yt show. He talks about the details in his performances and the level of control and thinking he has done is shocking. Truly amazing.
I JUST found your reaction channel last week (wish I had found you sooner), and I am slowly working my way through your videos. I adore Taemin, and your reactions to him are amazing. I am not asking for a reaction video on a song, however if you have free time on the side at some point (and haven't already seen it) might i suggest checking out his 'Think of you' M/V. It is more of a light hearted, cute fluff video of him wandering around. Like I said, I won't ask for a video, just a suggestion for a personal happy fluff break if needed at some point. I look forward to the rest of your videos ❤
If you think Thirsty is sexy, you should check out his song Sexuality. The live is great *^* even if you don't wanna react to it for whatever reasons, 10/10 would recommend
MOVE is one of my top fav songs/MV's ever!! I fell in love with him after watching this incredibly amazing MV. He is so talented, sexy, handsome and beautiful.
I almost thought I paused the video at the @9:00 minute mark but no, the girl was simply that shooketh. She forgot to 'move' for a solid 10 seconds straight.
You're definitely right with the connection between Criminal and IDEA. Never Gonna Dance Again is a three part- trilogy starting with:- 1. Prologue with 2Kids. Its the beginning of his inner conflict struggles (yes, he freestyled the entire dance) 2. Act 1 with Criminal - Based on the Stockholm syndrome where he is held captive with his own inner devil. He is struggling because e knows that its destroying him but he's too content to break free. 3. Act 2 with IDEA - Based on Plato's theory of form. The first scene with the phone and another him behind the glass reflects is inner devil vs himself in the prison (derived from Criminal). His continuous battle between good and evil, heaven vs hell. After all the struggles and self-discovery, he finally broke free to be his true self, his IDEA.
These commenters need to stop. They don’t really care for your content if they’re not willing to take the time to watch you. It goes both ways. I’m so happy seeing you love both Taemin and Shinee. They’re both so unique. They’ve been in the industry for the past 14 years. No matter what they do, it always has that signature. Your reactions are exactly like myself when I found Shinee. Especially when Taemin went solo. Breathing was never an option when it came to him. He’s such an incredible artist, he mentions wanting to be known for more than just being an idol. Because it’s true, Taemin is a story. The world is his audience, who get to witness him bare his soul. Also, he was known for being a “pretty boy.” The way the industry is can really take a toll. That’s why he started wearing masks, blindfolds, veils. He wanted his art to speak for itself.
Watching you fall in love with Taemin's artistry is so much fun. And no, you're not reading too much into things. Many of Taemin's singles have many layers of meaning and you've been honing in on all of them, it seems. Great job analyzing the vids so well with a first viewing when people write paragraphs and make videos analyzing his music and MVs. Thanks so much for your fun energy!
I know this is an older reaction, but I just wanted to note that the connecting songs from 2 Kids to Criminal, the whole album is about an obsessive and unhealthy relationship between two people, but with the climax being the acceptance of moving on. He mentioned that in an interview before, so in Criminal he describe the toxicity of the relationship and accepting the destruction that comes with it.
Oh Caitlin… I love your comment going into criminal 🤣 yesss Taemin is a problem that we won’t ever get over! I freakin can’t with Taemin! He may be my super bias! He’s so take talented and he’s such an artist!
Taemin is the epitome and cultural reset of kpop personified. I mean there is no one like him or that does it like him in the industry: dance, performance, singing, concepts, visuals, artistry and creativity and everything of the highest level, therefore he is the best artist of all time and for me one of the best in the world. he's the king of kpop indeed.
Criminal was about the Stockholm Syndrome and a toxic relationship, but at the same time it has a sexual vibe as well hehe I recommend you to watch his performance of Criminal (he's impossible there with his expressions lol) and his live stage of Advice.
Criminal is, IMO, Taemin’s best song. That simple key change in the last chorus elevated the song to another level, I’ll never get over that. It is a masterpiece
Okay, so, Taemin has a...very sexy discography. He has this one song called Sexuality. Yeah. It was on his first full length album. Basically he's just a stinker who loves riling us up. He knows he's sexy and he works it to the fullest extent. When you get around to wanting to check out his lives, his performance of Sexuality at Budokan is..yeah....it's that performance.
Taemin will forever remain as one of the most boundary breaking artists (IMO) in the Kpop world. I can't find words other than to appreciate what he brings to the screen in terms of visuals, creativeness, musicality, vocals and moves! Also,, 14:44 - is anyone else worried for Caitlin's eyes when she sees the members of SuperM...??! hahahaha brace yourself!
ALL OF THIS! Couldn't have said it better!
You absolutely completely embodied everything I feel about her reaction videos. They are arguably the best kpop reaction videos on UA-cam.
Caitlin: "I've never seen him hip thrust that hard before in my entire life."
Shawols: -coughs- Sexuality -coughs- Press your number -coughs- Chocolate and Feel Good with SHINee.
If u ever gets the time to watch these videos (mv/ live stages) by your own, I wish you good luck. And if u manage to survive, watch his Heaven and Holy Water live for cleansing. 🤭

Dynamite SWC4 too! Idk how she would survive that one. I think everyone died because we got slayed by all 5 of them. 😏
Taemin at his age is an actual legend and he’s not even much older than a lot of male idols.
You are correct in fact he is younger than 33 idols from 3rd generation and only a few months older than a dozen of them (3rd generation).
@@louis24138Exactly and it is a shame that he is not more known worldwide.
@@louis24138 damn can you imagine Jisung later in his career 😂 I think he even joined SM at a younger age than Taemin.

I’m glad ur reacting to SHINee because they are the best Kpop group✨
I hope u will react to SHINee’s Live Performances, coz their live performance is more incredible than the mvs.

Thank you for the explanation!!!
This is super helpful. Thank you
Thank you for this amazing explanation.
Some fun facts about Move/Taemin:
- As shocking as it is now, it was even more shocking when it was first released. He revived this slow type of sexy dance during a time when sexy = aggressive hip movements
- Move’s debut stage was at a fashion show, where there’s a famous fan cam of idols literally being shookethed
- When Taemin debuted, he was known for having his beautiful features. However, the compliments were always conveyed like “you’re so pretty like a girl”. It became a huge insecurity for him to the point that he felt he had to behave extra macho. Move was him taking this huge insecurity of his and making it into one of his greatest defining strengths. Not to mention, he challenged the very notion of “masculinity”, particularly in the form of dance
- Move because a cultural phenomenon, not just because of the MV, but because the dance was so widely covered by virtually every K-POP artist, it became termed as the “move disease”
- Although Move is his most recognizable song and it would be easy for Taemin to create another song with similar elements (sexy song with an easy but catchy dance), his choreo has only gotten more complicated because Taemin highly values following the unique concept he selects for each comeback. Although Taemin has an incredibly talented team (most often personally hand picked by him), he is credited for being very involved with all the elements - from the choreo, fashion styling, MV direction, singing style, etc. It’s very evident whenever there interviews with his staff or in the bts clips.

A few things you should know about this:
- Criminal is about the Stockholm Syndrome
- 2 Kids' dance was completely made up/improvised on the spot by him, there is no choreography
- 2 Kids is more like a pre-release promo song to Not Gonna Dance Again (his album) and it was shot in 1 day in between his Paris and London concerts with SuperM
- Yes he wrote 2 Kids and has a lot of creative input in his works in general (he is also responsible for making Criminal MV with the director he chose himself)
- You've been reacting to the videos backwards, so it's 2 Kids -> Criminal -> IDEA -> Advice in terms of order of release
@@inantarctica no taemin literally said it's about stockholm syndrome
@@inantarctica ...um what? No, Taemin himself said it's about Stockholm Syndrome, this isn't some fan theory but a fact lol even SM promoted articles about it ... IDEA is also confirmed to be about Plato's Cave Theory

I yelled "Yes" when I saw the notification and the thumbnail... That's how much I was waiting for this. 😻😁
Honestly everyone should stan taemin he’s insane
The fact that she got that first thing, her mind🤯
you have to watch shinee and taemin crack videos because he may seem like an actual demon in his mv’s, but he is actually so soft
10:12 hahahaha OMG 🤣🤣🤣 I DIED... I was screaming at the screen for you to look where you paused! That was gold. ❤
I already made a long comment on Part 1 of your reaction to Taemin so I'll just say I am SO EXCITED for next week SHINee!!!! 💎 and reminder to at least look into the significance of 12/18/17 of SHINee history even if you don't want to look up anything else about the group beforehand. I think it's just something important to know before you react to them. Thanks for this reaction!
"Think of you" shows THE every day Taemin
You don’t have to make video reactions to these, but do check out his VCR’s whenever you have the time! Stone Heart and Identity VCR’s are stunning
omg! Identity, that song touch the soul. And Stone heart its awesome as always.
“My aim was to find a middle ground, mixing both masculine and feminine movements into the choreography together.”
He also elaborated on androgyny in an Allure Magazine interview:
"If makeup highlights and empowers my unique appeal, why not use it? For me, I think there is no absolute standard on masculinity."
When I forced my mother in law and sister in law to watch taemin for the first time they asked me who he was and I said "this is taemin. He is important." Taemin is important. Love that you love him so much cuz same.
Criminal was the first song of his that I saw and I was so shook 😳😅
10:15 You really are the queen of pauses LMAO
I fell in love with Taemin's artistry the first time I saw Move, then it was like the rabbit hole. He has so many wonderful songs and also his live performances are amazing and insane.

You really do deserve an award for, "Queen of Screenshots".🏆
Taemin: The king of kpop.
Honestly, I wasn't into celebrities, artists etc... I loved music but mostly, just the songs
Then one day I came across Taemin and was mesmerised... words can't describe him or his art. He's really, just, Taemin. ;-;
This is why my daughter and I call him our spicy dumpling.
You reaction was very similar to mine when I discovered Taemin last year. Life was never the same!!
B sides are really some of the most amazing stuff too. He's the best soloist truly.
Omg i love anitra haha which live was that?
if someone were to film me reacting to Taemin's MVs, I swear it would take forever for me to finish one mv. you'd see me screaming, crying, pausing, rewinding, messaging friends to watch it, recording a small clip to make it as a gif, taking a screenshot, pausing again to take everything in and admiring him, repeating it again because I realize I watched it without lyrics or in low quality. I'm not even kidding.
the lyrics for thirsty omfg... at one point I think the lyric was "oh god please forgive me" WHAT KIND OF FREAK SHIT YOU GONNA DO TAEMINNNNNN
He wrote lyrics for 2 kids :)
One of my favourite kpop soloist he got everything. He's really great dancers and one of the best in my opinion and his voice is beatiful too
His album 'Move' is just a gem, from beggining to end.
"get him a towel" lmfao
yea your reaction was me first try on this MV but i changed my mind asap after finished it.
now i watch it every month since it came out ;w;
hes just so talented and sexy. he got moves
In “Criminal,” he really told us his kinks 😂
Guyss, she needs to check out Taemin SEXUALITY!!! I'm just saying, the live performance is...I have no words
Take care.
Taemin is the Best artist ever. I hope you react more of him.
Fun fact, the news announcers in the background of Criminal are actual bits of news instead of just being random, that bit was Taemin’s idea. :)
I’m really waiting for you to see something like his “Think Of You” MV (also filmed while he was in France) to see his duality.
Have a look at "Door" & "sexuality" live performance too. You will love it hahhahaa.
Also "Goodbye" "famous " & "Think of you"
Hands down the BEST reaction ever on UA-cam (especially Thristy).

I almost thought I paused the video at the @9:00 minute mark but no, the girl was simply that shooketh. She forgot to 'move' for a solid 10 seconds straight.
Omg now YOU HAVE TO SEE THE PERFORMANCE OF TAEMIN AND JIMIN TOGETHER!!!
You're definitely right with the connection between Criminal and IDEA. Never Gonna Dance Again is a three part- trilogy starting with:-
1. Prologue with 2Kids. Its the beginning of his inner conflict struggles (yes, he freestyled the entire dance)
Seeing caitlin makes me wander wath will be her reaction to sexuality and dynamite 😂😂😂😂, hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Caitlin, you really need to watch Taemin's live performance. Try SEXUALITY AND DANGER AT TOKYO DOME. 😘😘😘😘😘
Also not me wishing I can watch Taemin for the first time… you’re reaction is giving me fomo for real 🥹❤️❤️
Criminal was about the Stockholm Syndrome and a toxic relationship, but at the same time it has a sexual vibe as well hehe
I recommend you to watch his performance of Criminal (he's impossible there with his expressions lol) and his live stage of Advice.
Anyone who is a fan of Taemin is a fan of mine...I happily subscribed 😊
Criminal is, IMO, Taemin’s best song. That simple key change in the last chorus elevated the song to another level, I’ll never get over that. It is a masterpiece
Okay, so, Taemin has a...very sexy discography. He has this one song called Sexuality. Yeah. It was on his first full length album. Basically he's just a stinker who loves riling us up. He knows he's sexy and he works it to the fullest extent. When you get around to wanting to check out his lives, his performance of Sexuality at Budokan is..yeah....it's that performance.
Not sure if someone already answered you but you are right! 2kids’ dance is 100% freestyle
sorry taemin is NOT sexy , it's the opposite sexy IS taemin lol
Taemin will forever remain as one of the most boundary breaking artists (IMO) in the Kpop world. I can't find words other than to appreciate what he brings to the screen in terms of visuals, creativeness, musicality, vocals and moves!
Also,, 14:44 - is anyone else worried for Caitlin's eyes when she sees the members of SuperM...??! hahahaha brace yourself!
