This is undoubtedly the best snareline I’ve heard in the past few years, and genuinely my favorite battery overall. They’re just so consistent in playing with ridiculous space and meter changes. Love these guys
By far their personal best brass and drum line possibly ever. And the guard is doing insanely hard moves and their drops will get clean over time. I think they could medal this season!
They wrote a book meant for WGI and blended it with DCI standards beautifully done tbh. Very demanding very well played Pit and Battery. Hoping they win drums this year at least.
I think they have a shot at the one of top three spots in the finals this year. The execution is great and the percussion ensemble is is super. Good luck BAC!
Amazing show. Great GE. The percussion line is outstanding. I marched with a vorps from Massachusetts for years. Thus is the best show this corps has put on in ages.
What a show! It has no voice over, but the story is still reasonably clear, especially once the variations on "What a Wonderful World" kick in. The percussion work is more than just filler scales and rolls; it makes apt mood music that moves the plot forward (and it's well played). The cones are used as well, not just there and in the way. And the drill picks up the legacy from past drills and plays new and creative and apt variations on common elements. I would still like to see some tweaks. Even more could be done with the cones. And the final run into the road at the end should be the synchronized double time that only Blue Devils ever seem to master, to show that someone else can compete. But what a wonderful show!
The cones worry me. They need to be very, very careful and accurate using them and they will have to rehearse using them at *every* opportunity. If past shows across all of DCI history are any guide, items that roll, spin, bounce, or have a unique shape are difficult to impossible for *any* corps to control with the accuracy needed to make them look not awkward. And it definitely does hurt the visual show if they're even *slightly* (a 16th note is all it takes) out of sync. Every time I see a corps field an item like that my heart sinks. Yet, corps keep trying to use them. I don't think ANY corps can use that kind of prop without at least a little desyncing of the prop. It's not an ability thing, either- they're just copper-plated bastards to control in performance and even a very slight, otherwise insignificant error ends up being super obvious during the show. I suppose we will see.
Watched them in BA (7/19/22), they were the only group to get a standing ovation mid-show but still got 4th place (one of the judges ranked them 2nd for GE, one gave 5th). Easily a crowd favorite, looking forward to watching this group rock the rest of the season.
Not a chance in the world. Even if they were piss clean and full of GE (the highest scoring caption in the judging system), there's no way that the politics of DCI would let BAC win. They'll find a way for a west coast corps or two to make the list. Top 5 by August, I can better see that.
Sadly, no. Not because of stupid politics or DCI having a bias (on the most part). While this is a very memorable show and is very entertaining, I’m afraid they won’t have everything that they need for the title this year. I think they won’t beat Crown tomorrow or ever this year. Crown, Bloo and BD are just so far ahead of them. They need focus on fixing their visual issues (besides Guard). I am a pretty big Boston supporter but I’m also a huge sceptic.
Brooo when I heard the closer it blew my mind because I had played that same exact piece in high school. The piece is Symphony 7 by David Maslanka and its movement 3. It goes hard af
@@josephsimons4184 I wouldn't say "way" inflated, but they were missing a judge at this show so one of the scores was duplicated. If these guys don't at least medal this year, I'm going to be seriously upset.

Got some good screaming high trumpet players in there. There is just something different and amazing when some trumpets are playing an octave above the rest of the section. Solid performers on all instruments really. Seems like many corps have gotten away from the high notes. It's been replaced with, "let's see how many notes we can play in 12 minutes..." May wow the judges... but the crowds want big sound, familiar melodies, cool sounding chords, and please don't end every song with a cymbal crash. A lot of narration during the show is extremely annoying as well. High register trumpet notes that linger at the cutoff are always crowd pleasers. I would rather WIN with the crowd.
