For anyone interested... it's the acrylic polishes (mop n glo type stuff) you don't want to put on your wood floors. Most pro's use a product called Dissolver by Basic Coatings to remove the buildup. But pro's also use floor machines with a red pad to remove the buildup. Last suggestion... when you flat mop your wood floors, use ph neutral floor cleaner from OdoBan. Works well and doesn't leave streaks, as long as you use a clean pad. Yes, I clean homes for side work. 🙂
Just like too say thank you for your awesome tips I have two floors that I have wax build up on and the cleaning lady left the dirt on the floor and now its mixed in with the wax and 3 inches around the base of the floor is dirt mixed wax you have the best way so far too clean it thank you god bless
Thank you I am in the same position!! My husband likes shiny floors and has used mop n glo on the prefinishef hardwoods. Had one floor guy come out and he thought they might be ruined but I’m going to try this today!!

Thank you so much for this tip! My hardwood floors have that same white thick build-up, and scrubbing it by hand with only oil soap was wayyyyy to tedious!
Decided to spot test a little rubbing alcohol after seeing this video. Works great. We only have a few small areas with buildup so i will use rubbing alcohol.
I have laminated flooring, I made the mistake of applying a wax sealer to my floor. That was a huge mistake. Every time we moved a chair or table it left marks. I have use alcohol but I also found a cleaner that worked well. Lundmark high powered wax removal. Much safer. I am NOT a sponsor of the product. It is about 80 to 90% effective. Yes, it does take some elbow grease. I use an electric floor buffer with a scrub pad. I mix the wax remover ratio's 1/4th cup to 32 oz. of water and in a spray bottle, let it sit for 3 to 4 minutes then scrub. I would NOT recommend using alcohol with an electric scrubber because of fire, alcohol is very flammable. I do buff the floors to bring back the shine. VERY IMPORTANT to do a test spot, some laminated flooring will buckle if it gets wet. MY FLOORING IS SLICK AND NOT EMBOSSED.
Laminated flooring you use a wax wash are sealer to get it to not buckle if it gets wet. Had woods don’t use wax if you want that shine go with a high gloss
I'm going to try this, I just spent two hours scrubbing with a dobie pad and concentrated Murphy's Oil Soap with hot water on just the 1/2 bath floor!! My husband liked the easy way out with the spray stuff and a mop - little did I know the build-up of work it was actually causing me!
I’m doing this job now with vinegar, water, few drop of oil of oregano and a few drops of Dawn in a spray bottle. Works like a charm using a scrub brush with bristles.
OK I'm going to give it a go but I have a brand new" Koblenz rotary shampooer/polisher". I'll opt to pool denatured Alcohol before applying the brushes to it and wet vacking it up PS how flammable is that stuff?
You need a buff and a coat you don’t need to refinish them. Dollar a square have someone buff and coat it shine like new. Use bona hardwood flooring cleaner. Your floors only going to shine like new when the alcohol is on it lol. Coat that floor with some gloss you see the top layer of Polly
Thank you so much, this video was very helpful! You have a nice natural way of speaking.
Thanks for the info.
I used gel 7o% hand sanitizer and fine steel wool. Worked great no vapors to deal with, non toxic
Wonderful! I was racking my brain about my
Mop and glo problem. You saved my day!

Can it be used on floors with polyurethane finish?
What about the white haze, what do you use?

I noticed that you didn't rinse. Do you have to rinse after using denatured alcohol? Can you you use a scrubbed machine?
Actually the alcohol aids the drying.

Don’t use the oil soap use the wood cleaner
@@Coffmanandco Any specific brand? I think Murphy's only makes the oil soap
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Will this work for Original Hard Wood Floors without damaging them???
thank you.
Ammonia breaks down these waxes and polishes easily but im unsure how that will affect the wood. But ammonia works very well with minimal effort.

Is it dangerous to use fuel on wood floors? This product is very flammable.
I also tried to purchasing this product but hard to get. Found online Denatured Alcohol Clean Burning Fuel not Clean Glass any difference?
You can buy wax stripper at any hardware store. Zep brand works pretty good.
Praises to you! Thanks!
Can you use this V C T flooring?

I use a generic glass cleaner ( Vinegar/ammonia) and a stiff brush. Works for me. Similar technique.

Walmart have it, I just checked

You need an 8" Orek ... no kidding! With a brillow-pad, a brush-pad and a sheepskin polishing pad
Wonderful to
The bigger problem is how to remove embedded dirt from the seams of old hardwood floors - wood filler is not the answer ... anybody have any ideas?
You have got to be kidding if you think I'm going to use a HAND BRUSH to strip a 1,000 sq ft hardwood floor. Lol
Bissell sells a brush type broom for carpets. I'm going to try that and see if it helps.

The residue is harder to get off than the wax
Woodglut has a lot of designs to choose from.
Mop & GLO is the worst.
