I’m going on 39 and I’ve been thinking of doing a spring triathlon. I’ve put a lot of weight on in my 30’s and need to find a way to get back into shape. Those bikes are hard to find for cheap
I really loved doing it. I had a race cancelled this year and so haven't done one, and I have missed the training. I like to have something to focus on. I'll be giving it another go next season though. Luckily the erea I live has lots of keen cyclists and luckily I was able to borrow a bike. They are certainly not cheap. keep and eye out on facebook marketplace or even ebay. Or places like decathlon do ok starter bikes. Hope you feel inspired to get going, and you could always start by attending a spinning class until you find a bike to use.
Oh it’s an amazing place to do it. Though probably not the easiest one to start on. Was a very steep ride. Looking forward to planning more races next year.
Thanks a ton, I really appreciate your comment. I loved training for it and creating this video. Hoping to be back on the triathlon next season after my race this year got cancelled.
Ah im happy to hear that. I hope you enjoy your training and event. Iv not done any this year as one got cancelled and then I couldn’t make the other near me. But hoping to get back to training and complete a couple next year.
I'm so happy to hear this was motivating for you. You have totally got this and 40 is a good a time as any to start something new. Wishing you all the best with your training and triathlon journey. Actually a good reminder that I should kickstart my training again as I have my second race coming up in June.

Starting at 40 as well (and fat/out of shape to boot) this was great motivation!
