    I have one in hi viz. I ride a lot at night and would rather be seen. Only thing is here in Florida where hardly anyone even wears a helmet, it feels kinda like "overkill" at times. I have yet to see anyone on the road with one. But at the end of the day it may save your life or at least some broken bones. Thats good enough for me. Very expensive though.

      I live in south Florida and I wear one and contrary to what Muzclark says , the vest substantially increases my visibility. My only complaint about the hi-viz vest is that it gets dirty quick and is difficult to keep clean.

    Nice video!
    There is the Helite e-turtle. The same air vest, but with an electronic trigger system.
    There is no subscription fee and it is totally self-maintainable.
    Regarding a battery: it is just a matter of habit to charge it, same as with your phone. And it takes a few hours to charge it to 100% and you are good to ride for next 24h :D

    Mine just came in. I got the hiviz. My riding jacket is hiviz too but think people still can’t see.

    Nice review, I do wonder how much benefit it would be in the event of a direct collision where u remain on the bike and an object hits you at high speeds (or vice versa)

      Absolutely no benefit. I’ve also since found out due to multiple accidental deployment that my vest was faulty. Customer service was HORRIBLE and I can safely say I would no longer recommend this vest.

    why is the hi vis not as useful as people think? and which video is that of ryanF9 saying that? thanks

    • @muzclark
      @muzclark  2 роки тому +5

      I'm trying to find the video now, I thought I had it linked but must have forgot.
      Fortnine's invisibility training video makes a few good points on the subject though: ua-cam.com/video/x94PGgYKHQ0/v-deo.html
      I remember an Australian study was mentioned, I could find this on Google: motorbikewriter.com/professor-debunks-hi-vis-clothing/
      I have seen a car pull straight out in-front of a post man on a motorcycle who was on the road at the time wearing hi-vis including the post bags. People look for cars, they don't "see" motorcycle, no matter how bright they may be. That's why I teach kids to look and ask themselves if "anything" is coming, not just if "any cars are coming".

      @@muzclark I hear that, I know it's an eye sore and the black looks cooler but at night, I have to believe it makes a difference. I just ordered it earlier this evening. Not taking any chances. New rider here

      @@AnotherBangaTV Yeah, I'm sure it would make a huge difference at night. I very nearly ordered the hi-vis version my self.

      Got hit the other night at a stoplight with bright ass LED blinker going and modulating break light on a bright yellow bike. High-Viz doesnt matter if theyre not paying attention or on the phone

      I have the hi-viz and it definitely increases my visibility. How could bright yellow not make you more visible?????

    Does it flap around when going fast? Say 80+ mph?
    Considering getting one to ride on my crotch rocket. I wear a leather suite so this would go over. I hate the drag from baggy clothing though

    • @muzclark
      @muzclark  2 роки тому +8

      All the adjustment straps are stored under a Velcro flap so it doesn’t flap around HOWEVER it doesn’t fit tightly, it’s meant to have a bit of room to allow it to expand in an accident.

    @muzclark Nice video! What is the size of your vest?
    I am 180 cm tall and my weight 77 kilograms. What fits me on the chart they are showing on their website is the XL but I never worn anything in whole my life bigger than M and rarely L but never XL… what is your feed back on the size please? I appreciate it your help

    • @muzclark
      @muzclark  2 роки тому

      My vest is a size small but I do remember getting confused by their sizings so I included all my measurements in the notes section when I sent the order. As I think I said in the video, it fits very loose but that allows me to ware layers underneath in winter and allows for the bag to inflate.
      My size (at the time I ordered):
      A: 165
      B: 92
      C:90
      D:90
      E:52

      I added my sizes to the order form and asked them to contact me if they thought I ordered the wrong size (small).

    How do u find it on hot days with all your riding gear on?

    • @muzclark
      @muzclark  2 роки тому +8

      It's surprisingly hot. I bought a jacket with mesh arms to compensate because the vest blocks a lot of airflow over your chest and shoulders where most jackets have vents. It does help a little bit if I unzip the front of the jacket under the vest.
