Rules changed, now is not necesary to have the test, authorities are making aleatory selection of people to make test, are using test developed in Israel wich is cheaper and almost 100% accurate results blowing air into a device 3 times then go to a machine and in 3 minutes you get the results.
Back then you needed a test to enter Dominican Republic, within 5 days of traveling there. I specified that in the video. What you’re referring to is the current regulation before entering the U.S., which started January 26th of this year. That’s where you’re getting the 3 days from.
So you are telling me that if you go to Punta Cana airport, all you are asked for is a breath test and general questions, no covid test done? I am Canadian, and right now, we don’t have to present with any test results whatsoever. Great video bow, thanks 🙏
@@TheSoloTraveler , we want to go to Punta Cana next month, and specifically the Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar Resort. We have been going back and forth over whether or not to take the chance. The only real downfall to going is that when we get back to Canada, we have to self-quarantine at home for two weeks 😒
@@CBH-cu1dt I wasn’t aware of that when going into Canada. If you think it’s worth it, then by all means. If you’re going to have to quarantine for two weeks, then go for an extended period to PC if you can. Best wishes! Oh, and don’t forget to subscribe 😄
Thank you very much for this information. I am going to Santo Domingo Este on October 2nd, but I'll be there until January 3rd. And, no one mentioned that information to me. Hopefully, I can set up an appointment before my flight on October 2nd. Since the lag time in the United States is so long, do you think that it's better to just get the test when you arrive to the DR?
Charles, thanks for watching and for your support. To answer your question whether to get tested there or not, it has to be up to you if you’re willing to take a chance, like I did. Since you got almost 3 weeks before your trip, I would suggest making an appointment to get tested 1-5 days before your trip just to be on the safe side. If you feel 100 % healthy, you haven’t had any symptoms, or haven’t been exposed to no one with the virus, then I would take a chance and wait to get tested there. At the end of the day, it’s up to you. Thanks again for the question. Best wishes, safe trip and I hope you have a blast.
i planning to do my first trip after pandemic on the end of august (kinda worry but people tell me it will be safe). Plus I already took my vaccin too.
Hello and thank you for watching and for your support. First, I cannot guarantee safety for anybody. This video was made last August (2020) in accordance with the standards at that time, so it was just to share my journey and experience. As far as recommendations, it all depends on what you want to do.
I seriously doubt the validity of PCR tests, I really think that blood sample is just that, a blood sample. One guy on my flight was coughing and was coughing blood throughout the flight, he looked 70yo, completely scared the shit out of the flight attendants and the passengers. This whole virus has more political undertones than medical undertones, both here and in the USA
here in the u.s they have the same test in 5 minutes you don't have to wait 2 weeks for it but the catch is that they charge 150 dollars, in some locations they even charge a bit more so yea they do it here too but we just need to pay to have them results quick :-)
Hi there,I will appreciate if you make video of beach activities in day time ,if day time beach is active or slow .Thanks ,waiting for your new video of beach exploring
The COVID19 test is no longer required to go to DR. The government is also providing free health care to all visitors in case anyone is infected. To Find out more info visit the “Ministerio de Turismo” webpage.
Hi Dave and thanks for your support. Prices vary based on season. They range from $22 a day for economy to $50 or more for an SUV. For other info, refer to this video I made: ua-cam.com/video/ibKVJaQUF40/v-deo.html
Juan Escobar I am pretty sure as long as you remain in a Punta Cana resort and things inside are open you are good to go. But outside the resorts everything is shuttered
What I was told is that either at your hotel or make arrangements there, which I know would be a tough situation, especially if you were planning to stay less than that. The best thing to do is to get checked before going, which I highly recommend. Good question though.
Hi,I like your video, subscribed for future videos,my two Qs ,1,if Covid test comes +ve @airport ,they keep up 14 days quarantine in their medical facility or you can go to hotel for quarantine. 2,How is nightlife in Sosua just for girls purpose.,reply please thanks.
Thanks for your support and I hope this and all future info helps you. From what I heard, if you test positive, you have to stay at one of their facilities or a hotel, and quarantine for two weeks. As far as nightlife...nothing for now due to the curfew that starts at 7 PM on weekdays, and 5 PM on the weekends. However, at the beach is the best spot to meet some girls under the current circumstances
Thanks for watching and for your support. As far as I’m concerned, they are still testing those that do not have a test done within 5 days of traveling to DR. Only arriving passengers though. As far as restrictions for Dominicana to leave the country, I understand that there’s no such restriction. It is recommended (since March) to only travel unless necessary.
Looked into going to the DR for a trip this winter. Still a little Leary about it though as I saw videos of recent trips there and noticed a lot of intimate socializing and no masks. So i just don’t know what to think right now. Cheers! 👍🍻🥂🇨🇦🇺🇸
@@TheSoloTraveler Ikr, its gonna be christmas when i go and its gonna be so fun sharing with my family! I love my country, I wish i could stay there but I can only go in vacation! But still im happy and thx, btw are u from there?
The rules have changed as of September 15- you no longer have to test prior to arriving, they administer tests to a certain percentage of travelers upon arrival. This information is on the Punta Cana homepage as well as the US Embassy website. I’ll be in Punta Cana next and I’ve thoroughly researched this specific topic prior to leaving
Thank you great info. I have my own apartment in DR if I text positive at the airport will they send me to my apartment to quarantine or somewhere else.
Hi Serge and thanks for watching and for your support. From what I heard, they have their own medical facility. In your case, I specifically don’t know. Their email is: D.Placencia@aerodom.com this is the same agent that answers my questions.
The test they do at the airport is called a rapid test is not 100% and can give false positives, that is the reason it takes 5 minutes. The PCR test is the one in your nose which is sent to the lab and can take up to 10 days. I just did mine 2 days ago and got the results today, my doctor said it was fast because it was paid by my insurance.
Even the PCR that goes almos to your brain is not accurate Think about it. How bad a disease is it that you have to take a test to find out you have it or have had it?
Whats airport security like when you get back to the states? I heard they strip you down completely. That's a complete violation of our civil and constitutional rights. Thanks!
Thank you for watching! To answer your concern, I haven’t had such an experience unless I guess anybody gives agents any reason to search you but personally, I’ve never even been inspected nor questioned.
