So this was my attempt to turn a care bear into a backpack . If you were to turn a plushie into a backpack. What kind of plushie would you choose?✨

i thrifted the blue care bear with the same vintage look as yours and ordered a rainbow strap!!! its so cute i cant wait for it to arrive

8:40 Awwww, things were going so well. I wish I could have been there to tell it wouldn’t fit on the machine to sew it. I’ve been sewing for a long time so I’ve encountered that problem a few times.
You could sew the zipper in by hand using very small stitches.
I should have known that it wouldn't fit, so I guess it was just wishful thinking haha
I've been thinking if I am too old for a plushie backpack? They're sooo cute, but I'm 21 and worried people will look at me weirdly
I'm 26 years old and still wear plushie backpacks and whatever else I want. If it makes you happy then you are not too old for it. You don't hit a certain age where you are not allowed to like the things you like anymore. If wearing a plushie backpack brings you joy then you should do that. If other people react negatively to that it's just showing their own insecurities. They can't put you down just because they are too scared of being fun or showing style. Focus on you and what makes you happy, and if other people don't like it then they can go swim face down in a pool

Thank you for this tutorial! I thrifted a Winnie the Pooh plush with the specific intent to make him into a backpack, but I had no idea how to do it nicely.
I hope my messy attempt is a little help then because that is such a cute idea! I just tried and failed until I thought it looked okay, so hopefully you will make something you like too.

Yeah, it was either the tail or more of the head, and if he lost more head cotton he would have looked really weird😂 That is such a smart way of using them! I never thought of that before✨

I feel like the straps are maybe to thick for the size of the teddybear and I would personally like it more if they where a bit more delicate looking. The project turned out cute tho.
I did this with a green care bear! It was kinda spur of the moment bc I didn’t have a care bear but I happened to be at a thrift store and they had just put him out so I jumped at the opportunity. I wanted to keep the tail but I realized that, yea, it gets in the way, though I ended up sewing it back on just a bit lower, it helped act as an extra stop for the zipper. Ty for inspiring me
I've been wanting to turn my harry potter Aragon plushie into something that isn't a plushie because it's honestly SO ADORABLE and also spooky and i want to show it off??? It's wasting away in my bedroom because nobody ever goes in except for me.

I saw someone on tiktok make a carebear bag, but by cutting their head off and putting a jar inside their body, and would screw the head back on when needed. Cutting the tail off does not seem like a pig deal after that 😳

You wouldn’t believe how much people price these “custom-made” bag packs at. More that $150 or even $275 for a 7 inch bag that has a few pins and spikes on the bear and they claim it’s original. It’s ridiculous so much cheaper to make one yourself .
That is crazy! I get it if you are a professional, and made the bear and everything yourself. But If they just costomized a few things that price is not worth it. Much better, and cheaper to do it yourself then.

I have this gremlin stuffed animal and I’m gonna use that and I have a red crayon stuffed animal and a duck they are all the size of the bear u used except the bunny one will just be for my bed tho not a backpack so I can hide snacks and money
What year was that care bear released? I want to buy a grumpy one that’s big enough like yours to be a backpack.
When I bought it he said that it was about ten year old. So It was probably released around 2005-2010. I cut of the tag too so I can't go back and see. So sorry about that Hope that was at least a little bit helpful
Can you just take out all the fluff and flip it inside out to out the pouch in and refluff?
You can do that if you don't sew the pouch completly on when you have it inside out. You need to have a hole that is big enough so that you can flip it, and refluff it. I just made one so far, but that is what seems the most logical to me.

I bought mine on eBay. They were originally suitcase straps, but they also worked as backpack steps.

I don’t have a sewing machine what can I do to solve this? Can I just use a thread and needle, super glue even?
You can hand sew it if you want to. If you use glue it can get messy, and make the fabric stiff though, so I would be carful with that. But I think you could make it just by using thread and needle. It's just going to take a little more time. Hope that was at least a little helpful haha
What if you have a plush bookbag all ready but the pocket to small for your phone O_o
The pocket size of my fist and I can carry my stuff but like I want a bigger pocket but I don't want to ruin my Pikachu
you can just cut the pocket out, and make a new one :) thats what i did

I have no idea how to remove the skeleton either. Maybe someone has made a video where they show you how to remove it? If not then it sucks that you can't repurpose the bear😢

Haha, yeah it is easier to sew it with a sewing machine, but you could hand sew too. It will just take a lot more time
