I love this song. I think some of the reason I love it, is because he wasn't going to release it. He said he wrote it for himself to help him with his grieving process. He said he wanted to do an acoustic song and decided to sing it and by the chorus everybody was singing along and he knew it would help others.

Riley Green has a song called Numbers On The Cars abocut his grandpa having Alzheimer's but he still remembers the numbers on the race cars , its a great song to fellow up to this song .
This is one of my favorites. I always thought it was his gramps as well. He said it's about his uncle/grandfather's brother (can't remember which) with how descriptive, etc I totally thought his gramps until listening to that (It was on the commentary)
