      Ty'Jalayah Robertson how long does it last for?

    • @TyJalayahRobertson
      @TyJalayahRobertson  5 років тому +1

      With a short length hair like this, I would say 2-3 days depending on your Frizz tolerance (if you don’t mind how it looks once the definition is gone you can go the full week). Another good alternative is to wear the twists as is for a few days and them take them out to wear the Twistout style for another few days.

      I am new to the natural hair style and curls for men. I have been wearing the bald fade cuts and brush wave style for about 8 years. Due to Covid-19 it has grown and now I want to do the natural hair style and curls for men. I would like to learn how to get it started, does it need to be trained? My hair is thick and half the length of the man in this video, I see minor curls and it is softer, but not like your models. It's not styled because I have not been to a shop due to Covid-19. If I did go to a shop, do I return to a barber or a shop that specialize in natural hair curls and twist. Or can I do it with my wife help and how? Thank you.

      Hi! That’s so exciting you’ve started to grow your hair out and want to know which steps to take 😄 so for your questions, you can return to a natural harbor or continue to have you and your wife care for your hair (it’s super easy once you get the hang of it and will save you loads of money lol). Our hair is always growing so no particular training it is necessary and it will continue to grow longer and longer if you are properly caring for it as far as washing, moisture, & styling. For that you’ll need a shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, and leave in conditioner. Then you just decide and stick to a consistent wash and moisturize routing/schedule. Usually we wash our hair about once a week (though this is different for each person) it’s based on how your hair responds to your wash intervals and what your daily lifestyle is able to accommodate. Here is a link to how to care for your hair on wash days: ua-cam.com/video/PlGbPj_7BO8/v-deo.html if you have your wash day routine and products down, then you are pretty much set for the healthy hair/growth you’re wanting to see.

    • @TyJalayahRobertson

      It’ll always shrink up some (which is a good sign of healthy hair also) but a Twistout or braidout are styles that will give the hair a taller, longer, or more stretched look until it shrinks back up or is wet again.

      That should be fine, you can try it out and tweak it based on how your hair seems to hold up with it. Instead of taking your twist out the same or next day, try leaving them in for a week and then wearing it untwisted for a few days to a week, then repeat.

    • @TyJalayahRobertson

      No, its his completely natural hair texture. By “textured fro”, I’m referring to the krinkled pattern that the two strand twists leaves in his hair after you take them out.

    • @TyJalayahRobertson
      @TyJalayahRobertson  6 років тому +1

      Lol it’s possible, I’ll need to find a male representative around me though. I have so many around me that have a super kinky texture like mine but I do want to find different men representative of the different hair textures. If I do find one, he’ll be in here ☺️ but two strand twists work perfectly for wavy hair also. Follow the same method, it’ll just have a more loose overall appearance compared to the curl size of the male in this video

    How long does this last for a women? how do you preserve this longer than day?

    • @TyJalayahRobertson
      @TyJalayahRobertson  6 років тому +1

      Women, with longer hair can usually go a little longer because in my opinion with longer hair you can get away with more frizz because the hair still looks nice with the bigness and volume. How long it lasts depends on how well you preserve it and your frizz tolerance so it could be between 3 days-a week or longer if you have a really high frizz tolerance. For preservation methods, check my morning/night routine videos ❤️ it’s in my natural hair routines playlist

    If I was to use any conditioner like Suave, do the results come out the same??

    • @TyJalayahRobertson
      @TyJalayahRobertson  7 років тому

      +Sulema Osorio Yes, and Conditioner will work for this mice even if its a rinse kite. Suave by itself though, since it is just a rinse out Conditioner, won't have the same effect if used as a deep conditioner. But for the mix, the honey and Olive Oil are the deep conditioning components and just a tbs of Conditioner is used to help with the consistency of the mix so that it's creamy and applicable. So that's why the conditioner used doesn't really matter but I'd actually recommend a cheaper one like Suave or v05 so that you don't waste your expensive conditioners on the mix.

    • @TyJalayahRobertson
      @TyJalayahRobertson  7 років тому

      +Barasa Legend I believe he used the Shea Moisture Curl and Style Shampoo (pink wrap). I'm not sure any particular shampoos I would recommend but whichever that you choose, try to make sure that it is one without sulfate. It'll be less drying on the hair, also make sure to Condition your hair after washing it with the conditioner so that your hair is soft and moisturized again after shampooing it. Check the description box of my most recent male video, I've listed a few common natural hair brands and they may be a good start to finding a sulfate free shampoo as most of them are usually sulfate free.

      @TyJalayahRobertson  7 років тому

      +Curtiss Junior the hair cut or hair style?

    • @TyJalayahRobertson
      @TyJalayahRobertson  7 років тому

      +Dinero Dan Oh ok, thank you! The style will last a few days to a week, depending on how well you preserve your hair and how much frizz you're okay with (there will be less definition/more frizz as the days continue). To best preserve it though, have your hair wrapped at night as you said, but something that will loosely cover it and not over flatten it (women usually wear bonnets at night). A satin or silk scarf that you can put over your head will work. In the morning, take off the wrap and fluff your hair with your hands/fingers (w/oil on your hands to limit frizz). Daily application of a moisturizer such as the Shea will lessen the days of preservation only because it will make the hair revert and the twists will become frizzy more quickly. I personally don't reapply any product for this reason until I'm ready to restyle completely (usually 4-6 days later). However, I make sure the products I choose to use are able to keep my hair fairly soft/moisturized for this time period. Otherwise, if you have to moisturize your hair daily, do so still and just find the styling and moisturizing schedule/methods that will work best for your hair and daily schedule. I hope this helps! ❤️

    How lot does this style last ?

      Dawan Washington i rock this style a lot and tbh not that long, like if you want just the curls without frizz a few days maybe a little longer if you really take care of it but it’s definitely something you have to do on the regular but it does make your hair grow fast so that’s a plus
