The product I love for the chemical soak only requires a 1 hour soak if you use hot water. That's great as it gets you back in action quickly and doesn't require a backup set of filters as you would want if you did an overnight soak. **** Get that Filter Soak product now on Amazon! amzn.to/34ziTkg Another great money saver is to use a product to remove the biofilm that can gunk up your pipes and cause your chlorine or bromine and shock to work less efficiently. Less efficiency = adding them more often, increasing the expense. **** Get that Biofilm Cleaning product now on Amazon! amzn.to/2XGz4dY
Brilliant video as always, as somebody else said below, you’re so easy to understand and extremely knowledgeable in all things hot tub related. I’m getting my first hot tub in a couple of months, getting the wiring done and modifying the garden slightly for the perfect position for the tub and all your videos are going to be so helpful in getting everything set up. Being here in the U.K. I have to convert everything from dollars to pounds and Fahrenheit to centigrade also the electricity is measured in amps so plug and play tubs are 13 amp but the hardwired tubs like the one I’m getting is 32 amp so need an electrician but can’t wait and all your videos are going to be a great resource so I get everything right. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Just an FYI, I enjoy hearing your voice and cadence, and you are also extremely articulate. I can understand EVERY WORD. We just got our hot tub this week from Bullfrog. Thank you so much for all of this information!
using my hot tub for its first winter..Mind you im in WI and so far its being $100 a month on average during the winter! This is with it set at 101F.I love having a tub and will deal with it but my wife is not so forgiving.Mine is covered and out of the wind for the most part and this is reality.$30 a month is what it was about during summer.Everyones is going to be different but this is what it is in a cold climate
I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel! Subscribed and will be reading your blog as well. Thank you! I’m sure I speak for many when I say We really appreciate you taking the time to share all these tips and tricks we otherwise wouldn’t know right away 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Maria. Shock would be about every 7-10 days (about 1/8 cup). Depending on how many people use it and how many days a week, you might want to add sanitizer every 2-3 days (maybe 1/4 cup). But I like bromine tablets in a floater for my sanitizer (I put in about 3/week). That makes it very easy.
How about a tutorial for AirBnB owners who have very busy spas. Our hot tub gets heavy usage by multiple visitors, probably 300 or more days a year. Guests often don’t shower or clean their feet, and I end up shocking the tub after every guest, using anti-foam and clarifiers, changing the filter monthly, and changing the water at least three times a year. This may all seem like overkill, but it is the fewest hours of labor for me, which is a big deal - and a negative review (“the hot tub was dirty!”) could cost me hundreds of dollars in bookings. Still, I’d love your thoughts - my method has been developed over the past three years, but I’d love to spend less and do less for the same results!
Thank Jeff, great information. I thank you very much for your time teaching this. Maybe show us how to stuff, rather than just talking. Also, the mid video "Hi, I'm Jeff ..." Is very repetitive. I've watched 4 videos back to back and man, opening, middle and end hearing the same slogan is wearing. Other than that, your excellent in the information and really appreciate it.
Thanks, Destynn. I have wondered about getting rid of the promotional part in the middle. I have shortened it of late since I'm still getting a lot of new people to the channel, but I don't want to bore anyone either! A lot of my videos do show things, so maybe just not the 4 you've watched so far. But I do appreciate the feedback - keeps me on my toes! Thanks, Jeff
You should really consider dropping them because people might think it’s the end of the video and click out. I thought that the first couple of times myself.
Thanks for the comment. Because of all the comments I get, and my inability to answer them all in a timely manner, I answered yours in a video scheduled for 2/22/21. Please check it out and thanks for being here! - Jeff
We decided if we are rewiring for this, we’re just updating our box at the same time. Went from $1000 to estimate of 4-5000. All because we wanted a hot tub.
Hi Jim. Overall, $20-30 is an average. But the temp you set it to, the weather where you live, and the frequency with which you use it, all effect the total cost. For example, I like my hot tub to be at 98 so my toddler and I can soak without issue. But if I kept mine at 104, the heater obviously will be working harder and more often to keep it to that temp. And somewhere colder will cost more too since again, the heater will have to work harder. But I'd be surprised if it was significantly above $30 for yours as that's a pretty nice hot tub, and as long as you keep the lid closed in between uses, it should be fairly energy efficient.

Can you switch to bromine on the same water you used chlorine?

I’ll be looking out for it, great content for new hot tub owners, I have learned so much thanks to you!! Thank you!
How much will the electrian charge to hook up the 230 volt
Make sure you have it wired correctly. Just got our new one last month and can’t use it yet. Electrian wired 30 amp when we need 50 amp. 🤦🏻♀️

@@ambertynan6893 Haha no that's because you asked for a new panel. Lots of ways to make room in a panel...
It will cost around $1000-$1200 for them to run new wiring.
Thks had it done.
Really informative for novice into Hot tub.
Thanks!
What kind of chemicals do you soak in ? new to the hot tub world
Chlorine
Whoah there Richard Simmons! Anything hooked to high power high amperage and running 24/7 is gonna cost quite a bit of cash….js
I use my hot springs envoy hot tube about 5 days a week I think the is much higher than 20-30 dollars?

Hi Jim, is your hot tub connected to a 220 or 240 volts?
