Everyone can afford to buy these cars but not everyone can afford annual maintenance expenses

I have an average salary and i really want a polo gti but i'm worried about the expenses, for now i'll just stick to my trusty 2006 fiat haha
I am driving a 2015 polo gti and I can say that it s not that expensive to own.
I pay: 700€ Insurance/ year for 20.000km full protection
120€ tax a year
Fuel economy: 7-8 liters per 100 km @ 1,27€/l in Luxembourg
In terms of maintenance i ve had no problems till now.
Never realised just how much faster the Polo was. Leaves the Cooper in the dust.
It leaves the cooper S not the JCW....The JCW will leave the POLO GTI in the dust without any doubt
@@hoonehhr Also, with stage 1 remap jcw can get up to 300hp and Cooper s up to 290 on stock internals.

Even as a driving experience it does. It comes out on top in everything except the 0-100 km/h straight line races that the majority of commenters seem to think describe what a car is like, lol.
Ah, I was forgetting this: the Polo has a larger boot, and more space for 2 people in the back seats: that's where it scores its only real wins.
10/10 would Go for the Mini Cooper S

You can not turn the Polo so high when he has only 73 km down.
MINI sounds great. 150mph WOW. Just imagine the JCW same pice as the 2L Polo GTI. Or roughly.
You should compare Polo GTI and Fiesta ST. Same numer of HP.

Why you put 2.0 lt turbo under 250hp to these little monster
if they put more hp onto the Polo it's gonna be a better Golf GTI so why would people buy the Golf if they can get a Polo for way less...
Polo is faster because Mini is heavy 5 doors .You should test Mini Cooper S 3 doors or Mini JCW ,Polo would not stand a chance !!!
At wich moment did you though it was fair to compare a 3 door vs a 5 door mini hatchback?

Is not only max speed to test, but behavior of the DSG/DCT cornering on downhill roads. Can safely decrease gear, reducing use of the brakes as with a manual gearbox?
2.0 tsi engines are so much better than 2.0 from BMW or Mercedes.
Are the comparing a 1.5lt turbo to a 2.0lt turbo?
Majedie Howell Nope! The Mini Cooper S has a 2.0 as well. Only the non S cooper has a 1.5!
@@srens2584 My apologies. Thanks for correcting me. I thought the Mini had a 1.5lt turbo engine. Would like a 1.5lt turbo engine like new Ford Fiesta in this ever increasing petrol price world.
I drive the 1.5 Mini Cooper and even though it is not an S it is pretty punchy having in mind it is only a 3 pot engine making 136 hp. It also have better weight distribution because of the smaller engine.. The 3-cylinder eco-boost engine from Ford is also one of the best in its category!

polo gti looks like woman car compared to the mini cooper s no offense he is fast but if the price range is same i would pick mini
Women have nothing to do with this I guess, the point is the Mini is engineered to give you driving fun and style, and speed in readl-life driving conditions (not a straight line road) the Polo is a metal box that in a straight line will run a bit faster.

Comparing it to a 500 abarth, does the mini give you more comfort when driving fast? Does it feel more ‘safe’?
Obviously yes to both. Overall quality/comfort is better. On the other hand, a track race guy (who wouldn't be asking your questions) could have more fun with an Abarth.
