    Unironically 6v6 is the solution, 5v5 forces so much attention on one tank that antinade actually became such an enormous balancing issue that it justified kiriko's existence, something that's never happened before. And even besides the embarrassing amount of balance catchup that blizzard has had to do to make such an asinine change we lost more than we gained from losing tank synergies. Tanks were built with synergies in mind and embracing that would do us more good than trying to reimagine every tank as having a distinct solitary identity and role.

    Hot take: most players don’t know who or how to play into their team.
    Everyone knows who counters who but the reason we are in such a counter swap meta rn is because people are very bad at figuring out what plays well into their team so they supplement it with countering the enemy team instead.

      There is a reason main dps, flex dps, main support, flex support, main healer and off healer exist as terms rn, as well as how if your tank is a dive tank you are better off going smt like genji or pharah.

      ​@zander2758 that's not exactly what's they are getting at. It really means if I play doom with genji. Sometimes people don't play with doom when it would benefit them because kill potential is higher which means they can just keep dash resetting. It's not bad to have a solo genji but they need to be doing their job of killing to make an impact.

      That’s because the game is designed to counter swap. It’s the easiest way to play the game so it’s easiest play style for players to pick up. You are instantly rewarded for a counter swap. Playing into what your team is playing means you need to be coordinated with your team and it’s extremely difficult to get 5 random players to coordinate in 1 game and then go and play with another set of 5 random players in the next game. So players don’t play this way because it’s much more difficult to achieve.

      This is a problem with game design and not player intellect. In OW1 everyone knew what comps and strats were good the only problem you had then was having the skill needed to pull them off and having teammates that just want to play their favorite heroes and don’t care about playing into what their team is playing.

      6v6 defenders are aggressive but i dont blame them, 5v5 defenders are literally delusional. all they do is list off a bunch of balance issues that had nothing to do with 6v6 and blame 6v6. example, if they just got rid of sigs shield double shield wouldn't exist, but according to 5v5 ppl sig wasn't the issue, it was 6v6

      They are... The devs never balanced the game in OW1. If removing a Tank fixed it, than why does open que still do well with two Tanks and only one DPS? And if you genuinely believe it can't be balanced to add another Tank to 5v5 then you really NEED to acknowledge Open Queue. I'm literally Gold on every role in RQ and in Open Queue. My ability to be whatever role and be Gold in ALL of them suggests even 5v5 with TWO Tanks is just as balanced as 5v5 with ONE Tank. So what is the true argument against 6v6 again? 🤔

    Here's one, bring back the old 6v6 in tandem with 5v5. Let players have the OPTION to decide on what they want to play, and then after 6 months or so, we'll get a community consensus of what game mode is actually better. Be a nice bonus if OW devs updated and consistently balanced both sides too as new heroes come out. Would like to see how Mauga would work in 6v6 than just being a 3rd DPS; how many heroes would have to be reworked entirely?

      Do you mean like how we still have an Open Queue? I 100℅ agree with you, but I guarantee that'll just prove 6v6 is easier to balance. Case and point, 5v5 Open Queue with 2 Tanks and 1 DPS feels way better but still off.

      Actually, what if they kept it 5v5 but removed a DPS instead of a Tank? They could also convert some DPS into Tanks. Like Echo becoming a Tank could work with just choosing who you want her to be, then her ult is changing to anyone in the current game. Ash could too, although Bob would just have to shoot single shots where she aims until she Ults and he aims like crazy as always. 😂 But Gaston as a Tank would essentially be a male Orisa. I bet a lot of DPS players who pick these specific characters would be just as okay with it as Doom players.

    It's Imposible but, 9/10 times the reason player aren't having any fun is because of counter swapping. I think the game will feel 100% better if somehow blizzard make some kinda contract with GOD to drastically reduce the need to counter swap, so players won't always have to play a character they don't enjoy. ESPECAILLY THE TANKS.
    Also Hitscan DPS being so meta is mad lame holy fuck.

      It isn't just counter-swapping. If you're in a game as Tank and you realize the other Tank isn't as good, it isn't fun. It's just sad and happens far too often.

    I made a whole table to do the math for health regen details - Doomfist and Queen are in the same position, tied for least tank health. In role queue, their passive health regen is going up by 16.25 per second, for a new total of 36.25 hp regen per second. It's certainly less than any other tank on paper, but it's still an 81.25% increase! If we're not accounting for shield health regen, the next lowest is going to be bastion at 27.5 hp per second. That's only an increase of 7.5 per second (+37.5%), less than half of the boost that Doom and Queen are getting. Tanks are still sharply separated from the rest of the roster in benefitting from the health regen changes!

      Also, Wrecking Ball's health regen is going to be outright intimidating when you include shield regen. Currently, of course, any hero with shields will have periods where they regen both shields and normal health for an effective 50hp/s. After this patch, during those times Wrecking Ball will regen a whopping 78.75hp/s. It's only a 57.5% increase from before, but it still dwarfs every other hero. Even without shield regen, he'll be at 48.75hp/s(+143.75%), 2nd only to Roadhog at 50hp/s(+150%)

      Everyone with shields will still rank above everyone without shields during combined regen periods! In order after Wrecking Ball we have Sigma (71.25hp/s), Zarya (67.5hp/s), Lifeweaver (53.75hp/s), and lastly Sym and Zen for a tied 52.5hp/s. Without throwing more numbers in here, Open Queue still keeps those three tanks in 1st-3rd place!

      This whole thing is an overall net nerf for Doomfist.
      Doom has no armor, so he doesn't take any less damage from the armor changes.
      Getting emp punch is harder now due to the increased headshot resistance, which doesn't matter outside of using Block for Doom to charge emp punch.
      The knockback resistance will screw up his potential to punch tanks in and out of your team as well as hitting people behind the tank with emp punch.
      I hope they give him something else with this patch, this is genuinely meaningless to harmful for Doomfist.

      @@GabeThaGoober With this patch he most certainly will need a minor buff. Tank Doomfist's whole shtick is emp punch and this patch makes it harder to get and harder to utilize. If they fix that issue he's fine again.

    life weaver is actively pushed to not use thorn volley due to the slow weapon swap and charge up of his heal blossoms. Dealing damage with thorn volley should provide charge for your next healing blossom such that, with enough damage, you can have partially or even a fully charged blossom when you swap to healing.
    Wild Idea: All allies and enemies should drop a blossom on death that grants a flat bonus heal to the next healing blossom cast.

      literally any change to the nature of his two weapons would be amazing cuz he has like no direct identity or purpose outside of healbot and lifegrip, but this one especially is pretty nice because it encourages being more active in the fight. reducing weapon swap time in tandem with this would actually make him feel a little fluid!

    my hot take is that with the dps passive as it is (20%) dps players truly need to step up in their role instead of keeping the mentality that their role is not that impactful unless every single teammate works to enable them. can´t speak for high ranks as im an average plat player, but dps constantly play as if they are incapable of doing anything unless the tank takes the attention of the entire enemy team, or they have at least one support staying close to them or following them at all times. they have 18 heroes with useful kits to apply to almost any situation in game, but instead choose to stay the same hero the whole match while not getting value or not changing their playstile while their team is.

      realistically you could go sojourn and be completely fine because he is so flexible to most comps. He has high damage output with high burst damage, he has movement that allows him to dive, he benefits from brawl too because of his zoning orb thingy, plus close range +high firerate is mostly always good as it allows him to hit more shots = more rail charge.

    Hot take: I want 6 v 6 to return. I enjoyed dual tank synergy when it was a thing, with the exception of double shield meta. (I'm a bronze tank, and support, never attained a rank for dps, safe to say bronze as well).
    Hot take 2: Open queue feels like Paladins.

    My biggest issue is the general buffs that aim to solve problems for the whole role.
    I feel as though we should fine tune heroes themselves to help make their match-ups feel less bad.
    Tank passive being upped to 50% is great for a hero like Reinhardt who really needs to get close to be more effective,
    But then Roadhog, Mauga, Orisa, JQ, and literally every other tank benefit even more from this because now they cannot be moved,
    and they already have more lethality at range than Rein would ever have. DVA has her boosters, Hog has a shotgun, and much more.
    Rein's primary source of damage is his hammer, and that thing is extremely limited, while all the other tanks have way farther reach.
    As a ball main, this overall sucks. I couldn't really boop tanks off most spots, but now it seems like I won't be able to get any boops anywhere.
    But Hog is unaffected since his hook isn't a boop and is just a pull.
    Armor changes are also something I would say are not needed, I didn't pose much of a threat to other tanks in the first place, now I'm lucky if I can tickle them.
    The ball buffs are nice, but I'd rather ball stay the same, than literally all other tanks getting huge buffs out of this,
    Ball doesn't even care about headshot protection, my head is rarely exposed anyways so that buff doesn't do anything for me anyways.
    Overall I'd say Season 9 was peak 5v5 balance.
    From that point on best they could do moving forward is bringing back 6v6.

      Ball buffs should just be that hack doesn't pull you out ball form, i don't think it pulls out stuff like ram from his nemesis form so it doesn't make sense there, also make it like mauga where when he's in fireball he has cc immunity.
      Also the buff the tank knockback buff is also a double buff for hog since its going to make it easier to bully tanks with whole hog, its also a slight buff to orisa spin spear.

    hot take: OW doesn't need to be balanced if the meta changes every season/patches it still will be fun imo
    you don't need a perfectly balanced game, especially in OW it's unnecessary because every hero is strong in different things/on different maps
    so stop hating OW because it's not perfectly balanced because it doesn't has to be

      nah I don't want the game constantly changing, but I also don't need it to be perfectly balanced, I just want it to be fun..
      I just want it to be a fun sandbox (ow1 felt like that for me) cause even though ow1 took forever to get updates, it was just more fun because it was more fully fleshed out. (Better engine (better sound design, end game cards, LFG, lootboxes ik won't come back, ranked system which did kinda come back sorta thankfully, more players per game yes 6v6 lmao)

    Mild take: Sojourn shouldn't hold 25 charge on her rail gun indefinitely. Her primary fire should have a better projectile velocity at the cost of her primary fire adds 4 railgun charge per shot so she can't get 2 full charged rail guns per magazine.
    Easier and more consistent to play in the lower and mid ranks, but makes her weaker overall

    Blizzard are absolutely not cooking with these mid season changes. Yes Tank needs a big load of help to even feel probably balanced, almost as if we need a miracle patch to save the tank role. I believe that continuously buffing tanks will over buff them into even more dangerous and unkillable super tanks. However, if these tanks continue to grow unchecked; then the endless unbalanced gameplay loop cycle will continue to always over balance the next role that needs the most help next. These changes will not solve anything, when are we going to open our eyes covered with rose tinted glasses and realise that balancing OW2 isn’t a gameplay issue but a format issue. These OW Devs now will never understand what made OW1 so great and how to better carry the overall franchise of Overwatch.

    Is it just me or have we not seen another hero mastery get unlocked yet? I would have thought more would come out like one for Pharah or any other heros. I love the idea of it, but it doesn't seem like we've gotten anymore

    So your answer to the 100% true fact (for far too long) "Anti-Nade is still gonna be the Hit E in the general direction of a tank to delete ability" is 10:48 "but Kiriko is picked a lot (in top 500)". fml... how about JUST BLOODY FIX (or remove) ANTI-NADE. You shouldn't NEED a Kiriko just to not lose every team fight. Anti-nade has been unbalancing OW for so long... it's time. It's just bloody time. Either nerf it to high heaven (ie- remove the anti-healing effect, it already does enough other things), or give it (or suzu) to ALL supports. One toon shouldn't have such overwhelming power to win every team fight so easily, to the point one other toon is seen as a must-pick just because she has the one ability in the game that counters it. It's been 8 years.. come on now... get your heads out of your derrieres and realize anti-nade was/is/will continue to be the main problem. It has been/is still ruining what could be a great game. I can't believe it's been so broken for so long.

    I think too many people expect tanks to carry and constantly getting kills cuz they had that at the start of ow2 when tanks were gigabuffed. Now tanks are more about surviving and holding/making space and i see tank players get mad they cant just run in and get kills

      Doesn't help that a lot of the time a tank might make a good push and literally no one follows up on it, he dies and gets blamed while the DPS eats popcorn in the back, or shooting at orisa/hog with Cassidy thinking they're popping off

    The game doesn't really need to be balanced it just needs to be fun. That is where the real problem lies. The tank role as it is today (the day before the midseason patch) may very well be "balanced" in terms of power, but the actual gameplay is not fun. I hate to be one of the people that has to turn every conversation about the game into a 6v6 debate, but the issue the game is facing right now specifically for the tank role, is that the fun element that tank synergy added to the game has not been properly replaced and it's starting to feel like it won't be. We tried having supertanks at the beginning, both other roles hated it. We shifted some of that power to the supports and both other roles hated it. We shifted the power to DPS in season 9 and now the other roles feel like they don't do anything. Now they are shifting power back into the tank via these buffs, it doesn't feel like it'll go well given the precedent. It's a bit maddening to see them run around in circles. The issues with the game feel a little deeper than something that can be fixed by turning the knobs and tweaking the numbers, and some of issues really are caused by 5v5. That doesn't mean that 5v5 is a lost cause but it's hard to visualize what the game will have to morph into to fix the issue. I think that is why many are calling for 6v6 despite some of the known issues with that format. We've seen the peaks and valleys of 6v6, it feels a little less like blindly trying things like we are in 5v5 and feels a little more like something we can get a handle on, and the path forward feels easier to envision. If it felt like they had a vision and they were cooking it would be easier to let go and let them cook. As it stands now it just feels like they are throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks and it's getting to be exhausting. We're closing in on 2 years and it feels like we are still in early access, like we're still figuring out the basics of how to make 5v5 really work. It doesn't feel worth it to continue on this path.

      Yeah, it's frustrating to see them fumble the bag constantly, I've been playing since season 7 and I'm already tired of this cycle, one role gets giga buffed, it gets nerfed, another one gets buffet, repeat, as you've said it feels like they have no direction whatsoever and are just desperately trying new things and using the players as guinea pigs, and I'm sitting here thinking "can I just play my characters and have fun in qp please?" All this talk about "oh but the balance/oh it's never going to be balanced 6v6 won't fix that" 6v6 might not make the game a balancing paradise but it at least seemed like a fuck ton of fun to people 4 years ago

      my exact thoughts. this wont change anything at all outside of making tank diffs more prevalent, which would actually put MORE pressure on the tank to play perfectly. nothing at all will change because the gameplay loop itself is the problem and the dev team or the suits at the top aren't willing to admit that the marketing gimmick that is 5v5 does not work, and that 6v6 has always been the clear and obvious answer.
      and don't give me any shit about the end of overwatch 1's meta, because the devs left that version of the game to die with months of ZERO balance changes during a horrible meta THEY caused. 6v6 would be perfect with just a couple changes to tanks, which they've already done several times over in service of 5v5

That's okay, it just needs to be balanced ENOUGH that it is fun to play competitively. I shouldn't even engage with what you said but let's do it anyway. CoD is maybe the most successful video game franchise of all time, and has a still-functioning esports pro league. Don't get me wrong, I myself have no interest in playing CoD competitively. But this isn't the dunk you think it is. You are simply wrong about what makes a compelling esports/competitive title. As long as people are having fun they will make it competitive.

      Sure, the new devs are better, but buffing Tanks doesn't fix the problem with 5v5. If you change Tanks to take on two roles like Ball or JQ giving shields, then why not have a separate character to do that same amount of damage?

    Hot take: While the argument "6v6 queue times were too long" is very true, I believe 5v5 hurts OW in long-term. The issue is the tank role.(Who would've thought)
    A shortage of tanks in 6v6 where the reason for long queue times. (I never played tank; i had no reason to, didn't understand tank and didn't want the tank responsibility. Plot twist: I fell in love with that role after lerning it the last month of OW1)
    Instead of addressing this, (teach player the fundamentals of tank or smth like that; I had to search for videos on yt), they made tank the worst experience in OW and making them OP or underwhelming is not the solution, (arguably counter swap is the main problem, which is unavoidable in 5v5 imo) potentially leading to even less tanks, which was the core problem to begin with and why they removed one tank.

    I havent played overwatch 1 at all, so i have 0 biases towards 6v6
    Im fine with the tank passive buffs, but im a bit iffy on the changes to armor
    Not sure how thats going to feel, especially with ball who doesnt even do that much damage per bullet, so wrecking ball will definitely struggle more against tanks, i don't really see the increase of 50 to 60 fireball damage being that impactful, the most you will be able to do now is 160 damage with fireball plus piledrive unless you perform a double boop which would be 220
    I do hope that hog and mauga gets nerfed, mauga is strong now given orisa was nerfed
    Hanzo buffs seems alright, they might bring back hanzo one shot headshot, and idk what they are gonna buff junkrat with, it would be funny if they bring back junkrat's one shot combo lmao
    If they do, im gonna have a field day tomorrow on junkrat
    I dudnt think echo needed a buff, she always felt great to play and ive played her quite a decent amount

    imo, venture was prob made with cd cycles of genji in mind not doom and what they need are some qol changes such as no camera lock out on dash but also another escape tool to relieve the downtime like genji’s wall climb or dash reset just to cover that little bit missing in their kit or maybe 1 sec less on each cd. halving drill dash after burrow is just not enough.

    I have a weird hot take. People dont like playing tanks in general, it doesnt matter what game it is. People dont like that pressure. Its either they can stun people into oblivion or they one/two shot, or else people wont play them.
    Not really an answer to anything, just something ive noticed. DPS-inclined players are usually veterans of other shooters while support is just people trying to learn the game through a helpful role.

    7:10 I had one idea for mercy that She either completely ignores dps passive healing reduction, or it acts in a way such that the longer you heal someone the less impact the dps passive healing reduction has, until it has none at all. Solidifies the idea of pocketing as mercy and improves her healing output without increasing her healing output.
    For the second idea there would have to be some sort of decay where after X amount of time or when healing someone else for X amount of time the dps passive starts taking more effect again, otherwise accidentally stopping healing them because they moved out of LoS for 2 seconds would be annoying.
    This is a wild idea that I don't think is a good one but could be fun to test, is dps who are damage boosted impact a heavier dps passive, so like rn its base 20%, but damage boosted dps do 25% dps passive. Wild idea and could be fun but I don't think buffing mercy damage boost is the way to make her better.

    My hot take is that counterswapoing for the majority of the player base really shouldn’t be a problem. Players create this problem because they see high rank players doing it. High rank players counterswap because they are maximizing their characters performance and at that level there really isn’t a way to get a win over an enemy tank that is playing without making mistakes. Players under grandmaster definitely can play whatever character they want and just outplay the enemy. Any grandmaster can choose any tank and beat their supposed “counter” if it was played by someone of a lower rank. It’s all a mindset. Yall need to be ok with losing to learn how to beat other characters not just defaulting to “oh mauga beats rein cuz shield melt” or “Zarya beats dva cuz beam”

    I find it funny that the 2nd post at the end talked about nerfs to heroes that aren't meta at all. Bastion and Reaper are already at or near the bottom of most people's tier lists. Soldier, Torb, and Ramattra sit at the "ok" tier. Hog is really the only one close to meta. The biggest nerf to talk about is Tracer(which isn't even mentioned) so I hope there are compensation buffs to the other characters so they aren't absolute throw picks(i.e. make characters like Bastion and Reaper less tank-buster-y so they can flex to fill other roles).

      The thing with reaper and bastion is that when they act as tank busters and there is only 1 tank their job becomes to just relentlessly bully 1 person to get tons of value, i remember hearing reaper will get reworked and i hope bastion can be adapted to not just eviscerate the tank from existence, rammatra doritos will do less damage vs armor but his pummel in nemesis form will do way more dmg, we'll have to see how that plays out.

      There's a reason for that. The game is suffering because of noob heroes like moira, bastion and mauga. None of them should ever be meta because they're too easy and don't make fun games.
      Regardless of the balance of these heroes, they are all frustrating to play against and decidedly cheesy. Not every hero deserves to be meta.

    Hot take: I miss the card system. I never really enjoyed playing hours upon hours of ranked as I always found that it hurt my mental in the long run so I enjoyed just being able to go 10-0 and rank up as it meant I could spend the rest of the season playing quick play rather than grinding just to get back to masters 5. But with this new system I’ve already played 4x more than I have previously and it’s just a slog to climb now.
    Also the removal of comp points being earned for reaching a rank (1000 for diamond 1250 for masters ect) is a real killer as you now need to WIN 300 ish games in order to get an emerald gun where in prior seasons you could get one from 50 wins and a diamond season placement.

    I believe the armor change is meant to balance out the headshot passive.
    If they didn't change the armor back, tanks who have it would be impossible to kill while their armor was up, forcing DPS to go Bastion, Reaper and things like that
    The OW1 armor makes so tank busters are weaker, and it makes so tanks without armor don't get outshined by those who have it
    Making tanks explode less but not making them imortal

    My issue is the dps passive being buffed ... because I solo dps I rarely get to "show of my skills " .... I win more games with less elims because I'm constantly spreading heal reduction ... if I'm in a 1v1 or 1v2 and win if I didn't shoot at the tank to proc reduced healing my tank can't do enough damage to win the 3v3...(cuz in my elo healers dog walk our tanks and blame dps because we have more deaths)

    For Mercy, I almost feel like she needs an ability that gives her some agency. Something like, she activates it, and for a few moments a heal target gets some damage reduction or a damage beam target gets a speed boost or something. Just to give her more active decision making.     more impactful soft CC's should be reduced based on character health pools, including temp hp like overshields, with a cap of 1000hp (to avoid things like sound barrier from negating all soft CC). this change would have 2 main consequences: 1) it is more beneficial to expend resources to finish off a target, and 2) it incentivizes players to use their CDs on DPS's and supports rather than just focusing on the tanks. For example:
    - Sombra should take longer to hack high health targets, increasing based on the current health of the target. the cast time would be relatively the same for squishy targets, be ~0.8 sec for low hp tanks, and ~1-1.15 for max hp tanks like hog
    - anti effects would cut healing by percentages based on target hp pools, going as low as 30% reduction for max HP targets, and as high as 70% for minimum HP targets, with a baseline 60-65% reduction for 250hp targets
    - physical barriers should have a placement delay after casting, and an indicator for the enemy team during the delay. this (rightfully) nukes mei, but to make up for this the cooldown could be reduced and the physics changed so that the wall can no longer lift enemies up, they are forced on either side of it
    if you can't tell, I'm a doom main and I'm having no fun playing the game right now, but I think these changes would overall be a healthy shift away from the "tank disintegration" meta that's been plaguing the game for a while, and encourage the other roles to acknowledge each other WHILE the tanks are still alive

    Healers (like mercy) should get a small healing boost after using movement abilities. This encourages them to move between teammates a lot, increasing skill expression, and helps healers without a ton of ways to burst heal (again, like mercy) catch up on healing better. The boost would only be for a moment, so it wouldn't make pocketed enemies feel immortal either

    I think the last guy was saying. Tanks still ahve to be like do everything heroes. They’ll always be the focus fire targets. They can’t really adapt different gameplans due to being only 1 tank. Also given how some of the other tanks function, no matter how you buff tanks overall, they’ll still be playing this ridiculous meta game of counter picking tank v tank.
    Thus 6v6 is the only real solution as the problem is format not hero. That is likely what they were saying.

    Tank buff is going to make roadhog unkillable. 25% headshot damage reduction +whole hog knockback reduction on tanks. Which will make Ana a little better aswell since less dive and ana doesnt care about headshot damage and nade and sleep are always good against hog and easy to hit

    They continue to target Reaper as if it's him causing all these issues and not Zen's discord or Ana's anti-nade. If you look at the damage/range/etc. stats, every tank is for more likely to kill Reaper than Reaper is to kill them. The only tanks *not* capable of killing Reaper fast enough (i.e. Winston and Hammond) are able to get in and out before Reaper can actually do anything. This patch will just make the poke heroes stronger than they already were while killing off the already weak heroes.

      They should just change zens orb so it grants small lifesteal to 1 teammate or do what mirrorwatch does and make it a DoT where i felt it was more useful applying to squishies rather than tank, anas anti nade should just be a healing reduction than a full stop to healing, that way it still works against heroes like mauga and hog but doesn't make tanks just explode on spot when purple'd.

    Hot take:1) armor change is not a buff for tank, but nerf for tankbusters and buff for everyone else.
    2) i don't care that other role will not have fun bc dps and supports are the 1st ones to swap to counter u. I am tired of playing tank when i have to be scaried of hanzos storm, widows headshot, reaper in general, baptist, both anas cooldowns, and zens dmg
    Like if i get u in melee range with rein u should die 90%

    Making tanks absolutely busted to make them playable in 5v5 doesn’t do what they want.
    Games with a bit of a diff on any role (every game) will still have one unkillable tank and one tank who gets blown up.

    Mercy is just a really bad hero because she’s just COMPLETELY relies on how good the DPS are. If DPS aren’t hitting shots, no point in boosting them lol

    I still dont understand dps passive. Why is it weve figured out that if heals get nerfed 15 to 20% the game feels better why not nerf healing numbers globally instead? Because all this does is enable dps to make kills. If you nerf healing numbers globally support and tank can also go for kills aswell. They dont need to rely on dps to apply passive. Ive had multiple matches as tank where i am unable to kill a support or tank until my dps starts shooting them too. And at that point they may aswell kill them themselves considering they do more damage and in some situations have better offensive cds. I want to make the difference make the cool plays too. And dont even get me started on widow hanzo. Playing with hanzo is minimal dps applied. Whenever i play with that awful comp im not only waiting but almost fully reliant on them to make any space. This next patch is so unnecessary and filledwith more issues. Lets startby fixing the game. Nerf healing numbers first see where that lands

    Not a hot take: They should rework Mauga. It is UNFUN to play against, has barely any skill expression (You either use the charge to run away or RUN AWAY). The constant Mauga shooting makes any other tank match ups straight up UNFUN. I feel Mauga is worse than any Orisa and Hog metas we had.
    Another hot take: I think Mercy just needs her Triage Healing back after the DPS passive changes which fill increase her uptime and she can just heal up after 50% and focus on Damage boosting more.
    Third Hot take: Hinder and Hacks should have reduced time effects on Tank. I hate whenever I try to play Wrecking Ball, I get hindered and hacked into oblivion. If the effect on Tank is a bit reduced, I can still runaway rather than playing spawn simulator 600

    I think mercy is struggling in really high ranks but mercy is miserable to play against literally anywhere else. Like diamond console has a mercy Kiri almost every game to DMG pocket some op hitscan.

    Tank has to be overhauled in a conceptual point of view.... because tanks are just not fun to play as. Thats the whole reason OW changed to 5v5.
    Tanks should become initiators of combat instead of damage sponges.

    If 6v6 returns, it has to return with tanks split into main and off-tank. Main tanks have a shield (with old orisa with shield) and off-tank basically a combination of beefier dps (HP ~350-450 and mobile tank

      Her shield would be like rams (low health shield) and she’d be reworked so the shield isn’t always active. Also I’m suggesting only the main tank would have a shield, so no double shielding with 2 tanks

    I still don't get why Suzu is on a 16 second cd.....as opposed to Pull and Immortality which are like, 25-30

      I was gonna make a counter argument because immort currently is largely just better than suzu but...yeah no I cant counter pull being 25 but suzu being 16 given suzu is just pull but you keep your position.

    My hot take would have to be.
    The buffs for Hanzo hopefully are not primary fire buffs.
    Maybe I’m alone in this but i’d rather him get +25 HP, -1 second to storm arrow, -1 second on sonic AND a buff to his ult where it can destroy deployables.
    Than him getting a +5 to his primary fire damage.

      @@bambampewpew32 I won’t lie, I don’t main Hanzo, but do have quite a few hours in him (mainly in ow1) I personally feel non ultimate one shots are just a 6v6 thing.
      But I do know Hanzo without his oneshot is just poor which is why I’d want him to have everything but his one shot gigabuffed tbh.

    6v6 is just better, not only tanking was more fun but dps and Support in my opinion aswell. The game just feels empty with 5 players and one pick has way too much value and makes the fights almost impossible to turn. Idk, ever metric I think of I liked 6v6 better than 5v5

    I believe 5v5 or 6v6 doesnt matter
    Ow will never be balanced
    Anyone who played ow1 knows 6v6 was not balanced this game is never going to be balanced what is needed is for characters to be fun to fight and not overtuned. They need to add death timers when switching heros to prevent counter swappers ow is fun with like 3 annoying characters.
    My hot take: i think healer is fine supports a slighty overtuned but with dps passive i think it evens out

    After seeing it yet again in this comment section, Imma just say my hot take: people who legitimately want lootboxes back are entitled and want free shit.
    It's one thing to complain about the excessive shop prices. Because they are excessive, and those prices should be brought down.
    However, to say lootboxes are the answer is just denying history. Yes, technically you could earn them for free and get free shit. But you forget the thousands of adults wasting $1000s of dollars on what is one step away from a slot machine. I don’t care if you miss getting free shit. I don’t want people possibly ruining their lives so they can make Genji pretty.

    * Tanks shouldn't have self healing abilities.
    Aka - Hogg. Mauga
    No issue with abilities like shout. Shield regen or the passive healing.
    * Show the other teams character picks before the game starts. This way the counter picking and counter to the counter pick can happen before the first death.
