  • Here's one I had fun recording on my Melodigrand 64 Key Piano a few weeks ago. It's basically a re-working of Lewis Reiterman's "Ragtime Cakewalk" of 1898, done for a 1910 Leo Feist Ragtime folio. William H. Tyers, who arranged the rags in the folio, is probably responsible for the musical differences in this 1910 update... and I of course added a few of my own variations in rhythm and raggy riffs. As with much of what I play, I was inspired to learn it in part from an unissued recording made by the late great Bob Wright (for Stomp Off Records of St. Louis, in 1974). Special thanks to my dear pal Brian Nalepka for lending me his copy of the folio (titled "The Rag Bag")!
