For decades, German TV comedian Oliver Kalkofe has given his take on the strangest clips around, parodying a sort of best of the worst of television, UA-cam and advertisement. DW invited him to set his sights on the whole globe; now even Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping aren't safe from the famous Kalkofe treatment.
To mark Donald Trump's inauguration, German comedian Oliver Kalkofe takes a look back at the second presidential debate shown on US networks - and asks some questions of his own.

The german version of this sketch is better because while speaking german he uses an extremely annoying accent. I think Kalkofe has a very unique style to make fun over TV shows that are anything but funny to watch. He's just showing how stupid most of the TV programs really are.

Well that was awkward.... I really enjoy Kalkhofes German videos but in this English version there is one big thing missing: his linguistic jokes. All the creative puns and his hilariously funny own word creations. All this is sadly lost in this English version. I know that there's nothing harder than being funny in a 2nd language (god, I know...)
so maybe he needs just a little more time and practice ;)

Is German humor applicable to the US? I'm not sure.
Thing is, his impressions are usually a little more lively and I think he's not used to writing or acting in English, so this piece seems a bit mechanic and not quite reflective of how funny his German shows are. But I think he should keep'em coming to get more routine with doing his stuff in English so it can grow to be on par with his German shows.

Finally! Kalkofe attacks english TV shows! I was allways hoping he would go for this some time.
About the puns: Just wait for it. His first few german episodes were pretty bad too, but later on his puns became insanely hilarious. He gave me some very good workouts for my abs back then. 😂😂😂😂
There's one thing I want to say: Don't think so bad of the Middle Ages. They weren't that bad. (By the way - we're talking of 1000 years. During that time many, many cultural developments took place.)
Compared to all other times in the history of man, these times were bad. There's a reason why they are often referred to as dark times. How many great things came up in that time? How many came up in the 1000 years before and after? I think the image get quite clear here. I'm strictly talking about the european continent by the way, while we had the dark ages in Europe, the Islamic world flourished
I think what most people associate with the Middle Ages is Christianity forbidding a lot of stuff, bad hygiene and the plaque. So it's used as a symbol for the times you don't want to live in. When it's actually a time period of almost 1000 years in which time didn't stop for everything but Europe. I still think no matter how not that bad they might have been, I can't imagine it was very comfortable compared to the way we live now.

Trump hat ja immer noch seine ersten 100 Tage, bis man ein erstes Fazit über ihn ziehen könnte und das sollen die Menschen in den USA machen und nicht wir! Aber die miserable, unlustige Parodie von Kalkofe ist schon echt schlecht :(
