- This is my first FSD video just wanted to show off some of the struggles i have seen while driving. Did not expect this to happen but i think its good to share this footage.

When FSD sees a car disappear from sight, because of a billboard, it doesn’t mean it really disappeared and you can go forward. That’s when I had to jam on the breaks.

Teslas get better fuel economy on city streets vs highways because of regeneration. Every time the car slows down for traffic or comes to a stop at an intersection the car is harvesting fresh electricity to put into the battery. This is especially true when SFSD (Supervised Full Self Driving) is in use.
Yeah its what i noticed because on my roadtrip last weekend it wanted to take me through a city and it would have ended with 41% but high was with 23%
I never understand why people make videos about old versions of the software. 12.4.1 has been out for a couple of weeks already.

FSD gets very lonely and afraid when it's far away from other cars. If it sees a group of cars, it will head toward them.
I’ve never experienced it. might have to try this method.
Suggestion: If you do more Tesla videos, Be sure to clearly note which version of FSD you are using and what settings are in effect (chill/normal/assertive, minimal lane changes and anything else you see in the settings that looks like it might affect how the car behaves when it is driving. If you are going to talk about non-FSD features, be sure to note that software version, too (i.e. 2024.3.25)

Re: FSD Grounding: If you just wear sunglasses, FSD won't tell you to pay attention.
idk i wore sunglasses and it asked me more and more with the nag. ive had the opposite effect.
@@EddyGoesTesla are they polarized? Polarized glasses prevent the camera from seeing anything
im not sure to be honest they could be i will look into that though

Yeah I’m aware they are already talking about 12.4 and 12.5,12.6 😭 just wanted to make some fsd content and I guess the car new that to so it decided to do something crazy because it has never done that before.
I wish we could have the old navigate on autopilot line as this line looks hella ugly

Connect your phone to your car and use it hands free. Don't be a stupid human holding your phone in your hand while trying to pay attention to the road as required.
I was holding my tri pod in place because the accretion made it fly back lol. But i will figure something out to drive more responsively as i don't want to make tesla look bad for my lack of doing.
You put it on the middle of a maze and then expect it to figure out the visual maze from those lines. Only the lines in the immediate environment would inform FSD. There are no maps internal to that parking lot. So what is the context for FSD to calculate where it may be? I would like you to redo this with cars in the lot.
I just wanted to challenge fsd a bit and see what it was going to do. It freaked out but I’m not hating on the tech I enjoy it and use it every day. I was testing how good it is at figuring stuff out on its own because it learns by data. Yeah I know any other car would have died and exploded 😭
not the point, a true FSD will have human intuition and figure itself out. Remember level 5 FSD will mean that it can go on completely new terrain and figure its way just like humans do.
Well yes it will be human like from just seeing the situation but it is able to learn from all the data that tesla is putting in to it. Yes it will be able to go anywhere in the world and figure out how to drive but one of the biggest factors why is the data. Elon said that he believes once they have around 6 billion miles recorded that FSD will fully be autonomous.
if it's got GPS data why shouldn't it be able to find it's way out

No unfortunately this is still 12.3 so that’s why I’m not upset but it’s good to know what the differences could be after.
I'm not really surprised that FSD is getting confused in parking lot. I see people getting confused in parking and driving the wrong direction all the time.

Great question to fully trust I say 1-5 years. I really don’t have to intervene that much. It just so happened that when I recorded it does that but I use this thing everyday and feel safe. I believe we are closer than people believe we are
what is stopping the little ones from joy riding?
well nothing as long as there is a parent there. I just thought they meant like alone and no one in the front seat

I too have 12.3.6 currently and use it from time to time but only in situations where there's a low chance of other drivers honking at me. Learning each FSD version's idiosyncrasies is half the fun, challenge and frustration. The other half is learning where to use it so that it isn't more stressful than just regular driving.
Tesla's progress is exciting. The cars are learning. The frequent software updates are fun to look forward to.
Agree the new software is amazing to look at. It's like eye candy for me every time I drive. I was lucky enough to start with this new update so i cant say much about the older one.
Yes seeing how the car handles itself in certain situations is cool to watch. For me it mainly works everywhere but the parking lot and maybe some less know roads and it tends to be fairly slow at times but thats when ill come in and teach it to go a bit faster. Kinda like teaching a teenager to drive:)
Sorry but FSD is a damn cheap party trick that dont work IMO!!! Still waiting for it on my 2017 S 100D… paid for and still waiting… no love for MCU1 cars!!!
I think its nice tech to have on the highway and on most roads. It does have some flaws as i mentioned in the video but once fixed i think it will change the game. remember this in uncharted territory so its hard to put a timeline on it.
