Thanks a lot Shrishti for the wealth of information you shared !!Makes it so ver easy for first time movers abroad !!!Looking fiorward to your next post 😊
Thank for sharing. but most of the utensils is commonly available here in Germany as well and almond, cashew and bag bakri is available easily here as well
Yes I totally agree that mostly everything is available in Germany. But we already had our utensils in India which we sent and other basic groceries are just for the initial days so that we didn't have to worry about finding them or spending a lot initially. Thanks for watching the video!
Hii, could you please tell me where to connect India Post in Germany for parcel as they are attempting delivery but the delivery is unsuccessful because the receiver is not at home because of work. And, we don't know where to collect the parcel or whom to connect. Do you have any idea?? Please suggest
Hi Shikha! We collected our parcel from Deutsche Post Filiale in our area. You can contact DHL in your area to enquire or they usually put a card in your post box to inform you the address from where you can get your parcel.
You can even try tracking your parcel on the DHL app or website as they might show the address where your parcel is. Because all my India post parcels were delivered by DHL.
Was the India post showing the same city where you lived in the tracking from where the delivery was taking place? Because in my case the delivery is being taken from another city to my city then which nearby Deutsche Post shall I connect? Because yet I haven't received any card in my post box and they have attempted delivery twice. Kindly reply if you have any idea.
Try on maps the closest DHL and give them the tracking number they may guide you. Because after the failed attempt they had taken our parcel to the DHL in our area.
Thanks for sharing your experience. How to avoid or pay less in custom duties ? Even i'm sending my house hold items. One of my friend receiv e a parcel of 10 kg, and german customs charged him 40 euros. Im wondering how much I might get charged with the weight of 60kg. Im sending via DHL courier service.
Thanks for watching the video! I have sent parcel multiple times. Once I wasn't charged customs and for the second one I was charged. Based on my observation they charge customs on the basis of value we mention on the parcel. My boxes weighed 20 kgs and I was charged around 25 euros customs on it. Hope this helps!
@@srishtipai Thank you. But now in the current video of your household shipment, will there be a custom charge as well ? If it is a huge amount than how did you manage ? Can we explain to the customs officer about our recent relocation from India, will it helps to reduce the charges ?
@@vivekgreen If you send parcel via India post or DHL mostly they charge customs on every package if the parcel value is above 5 euros. If you mention used items they may not put customs but there is no guarantee. To contact customs officer you will need to find their exact email ID and it might take time to receive their reply.
@@vivekgreen If you have not yet shipped your items, you can consider moving companies like I mentioned in moving vlog. They have experience to deal with customs and on my shipment I was not charged any customs as they were used items. These moving companies will give you quotes on the basis of volume.
Hi! You can try tracking your parcel and see which location it has reached. Then you can contact the courier company office of that location. Hope this helps!
