You don’t have to be vegetarian to help! Simply lowering your meat consumption to 2-3 times a week can drastically lower your environmental footprint. You will be healthier too!
Amirdha Varshni yes. Both vegan and vegetarians don't eat meat. However, vegans go even further, not consuming any products of animal origin (letter and wool fabric, for example). Vegetarians, as you may understand, still have eggs and milk in their "diet", but Vegans don't eat these products.
Amirdha Varshni vegans are super hippys that dont drink milk cuz it came from aninals or any darie products because it comes from animals. Vegitarians are either born that way or choose to be vegetarian like the people in theese comments
Your definition of a Vegan is wrong. A vegan is someone who eats a 100% plant-based diet. You people added the leather/wool/animal abuse crap later on.
I'd like to go vegetarian, heck, I have such a soft spot for animals that I almost cry if I kill a cow in Minecraft for the leather, but in the real world, bacon is the only thing stopping me. Edit: I'm trying to go as a selective vegetarian, aka choosing to not eat meat if there is a choice, but not flat-out refusing it if it's the only thing on the plate. I live in a place where it's rather hard to find good-tasting vegetarian restaurants, so that is a bit of an issue. I do try, though!
I've been a vegetarian for 4 years now. Why did I switch over? I was just really grossed out by how animals are cared for-injected with hormones (to grow a larger animal=more meat) and animal antibiotics. I don't trust our food industry, because it's also a business that needs to maximize profits. If you don't see for yourself how your food is handled, you really don't know what goes into it.
DustinTheSeahawksFan If you can, veganism is ideal. As the dairy and egg industries cause just as much harm to health, the environment, and animals as meat. But anything helps, so if you can't do everything, it doesn't mean you should not do anything :) Even just reducing consumption, or spreading awareness helps.
DustinTheSeahawksFan Well, I have been vegetarian for 10 months, and before that, I was pescetarian for 2 years or so. Then, this past summer I was visiting Europe, and by day I explored the country, and by night I researched and watched videos about the truth of dairy and eggs, and how they are equal to meat in their horror. I had started drinking soymilk a few months before, but that was partially because I just kind of liked soymilk, and I knew the production of dairy wasn't great, I just didn't realize how bad it was.
As an Indian, i was raised a vegetarian and don't mind meat-eaters. I only have a problem with animal cruelty, over-consumption of meat which harms people's health because i care about all good human beings, and those who do not care for global warming, pollution and climate change. Let's make the world the better place, guys, gals, and non-binary folks!!
I was raised a meat-eater and i don't mind vegetarians. I only have a problem with people eating our only sources of oxygen and over-consumptions of plants as it can harm everybody's health because a lack of fresh air. I care about all good human beings and i want them to be able to breathe good oxygen.
If the world was vegan, we wouldn't have the brains we have today. We would still be smashing our own shit into rocks and dirt. Who wants a world filled with immaciated morons?
It explains why 30% is vegetarian in India 🇮🇳 I live in India, and the food here is delicious 😋. I am not vegetarian, but I don’t eat non veg (?) the rest of my family is non veg and I am too, i just don’t eat it cuz like ehh there are better stuff I like. However I do eat chicken Biriyani but just don’t eat the chicken (im a weirdo) anyway enjoy your day
Being vegetarian is quite easy in most countries depending on how firm you are on your beliefs. I live in Canada, born & brought up here, I think it’s quite easy here too and I don’t even eat egg. I’m Indian too btw
I'm not vegetarian and I don't ever plan to, (not that I have anything against vegans or vegetarians, I'm engaged to a vegetarian) but I do think Americans eat waaay more meat than they need to.
Erik skölling I dont think you understand that farm animals arent wild.... If no one uses what they got that means they be killed without puting a good use and the farm animal will be extinct.
Yep, just go and watch a video off the internet of chicken factories and see what kind of torment and suffering they endure before they are even killed. Hell on Earth.
Everyone gets so surprised when I say that I'm a vegetarian and sometimes they make rude comments. Like, I respect you then why don't you respect me? Idk people
People shouldn't get hate for their diets. It's just rude. I think some of them are only hateful because of the bad rep vegans and vegetarians get or for not knowing the difference. That Vegan Teacher? Some people really give those life styles a bad rep.
@@orbitalchaos8049 but that's kind of what happened. people who don't know me (but know that I'm vegan) now thinks I have the same personality as that vegan teacher when all my friends know that I don't... so it really sucks but I'm doing it for the animals
+Pastel Puffies I would argue the opposite. They would likely replace the calories from meat with carbs and fats, which contribute far more to obesity than any meat products.
+Hanatash Good thing you can just make a claim and not back it up with sources, I would love to be that unscientific :) Nevermind the fact that meat induces obesity even when controlled for caloric intake www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20592131
i wish i knew more about the meat industry sooner so i could've stopped eating meat a lot longer ago. it's so easy. meat free for a year in a couple of weeks.
I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I believe that we should cut down on meat consumption and maybe in the future only get meat from wild sources, meaning we won't have to have livestock. which like you said, would decrease global warming and increase natural habitat
@@ClosetDemon I'm in Australia, so I'm not sure the price situation where you are, here the cheapest good quality meat in supermarkets is the wild culled kangaroo meat. I know overseas kangaroo meat is ridiculously expensive (price gouging, since they know people will pay high prices for it because it's so healthy, nothing to do with production/transport costs) but I think it's likely you will find with some searching that local pest/overpopulated species are actually comparable with regular meat prices, have you looked? If not, try googling for "buy game meat", " buy venison", "buy wild pig meat" or "buy kangaroo" & then search the websites that appear with those searches to see the starting prices. You might be surprised at how affordable it is! You can also try to get in contact with hunters in your area & buy directly from them for a cheap option. Last resort, raise your own :) Probably not viable for large animals, but insects are completely viable even in an apartment. You can buy mealworms or crickets from local pet stores & find instructions online on how to raise them & prepare them for human consumption. If your parents can afford the game meat but are refusing, then if you insist on the alternative of eating home raised crickets, they might find they are willing to spend the money on eating deer to avoid eating your bugs :)). Note on game meats, because it's so low in fat, it cannot be cooked to well done! It must be eaten rare or minced or it will taste horrible! The flavours are generally similar to, but stronger than beef & other domestic meats, so it's great in any dish that needs an extra meaty flavour boost, such as in burgers, where the flavour's diluted by the other ingredients, or in curries & other strong flavoured dishes. You can, if you really want to, use a little less of it than you would with beef in some settings, due to it's stronger flavour, so that might be another selling point for your parents too :)) Good luck on the negotiations with them :)
@@lilaclizard4504 I might look into what you are saying but my parents are stubborn and would choose the most expensive thing just because they are used to it. but *I* will sure look it up. I think eating bugs is just fine but my mom and especially dad would be revolted. I'm afraid that until my brother gets his hunting license, or that one of our friends starts hunting, that my parents won't use any other way of getting meat than meat from store farms. but I will try
@@ClosetDemon _"I think eating bugs is just fine but my mom and especially dad would be revolted."_ hmm well if you want to have some fun..... lol. You can buy insect flours that can be added to foods & your parents would probably not notice in small amounts & if gradually raised, learn to enjoy it, but they cost a fortune (as in over $100 per kilo!) but more fun than that is going to be what you can do if you raise your own. Meal worms are the easiest all round, they can be readily bought from any pet store that caters to pet reptiles. To raise them & breed them needs only a take away food container with a few holes in it for ventilation & some oats flakes (I think that's what you call them? the ones you make porridge with) that they wil live in & eat & then a tiny piece of carrot or other scrap vegetable every few days to act as their water source. They're actually quite interesting to raise anyway, going through 4 distinct stages of life, so that might help get your mum to agree or not get suspicious when you buy them :). Anyway, once you've got your mealworms growing, find a large one that's just shed it's skin & so is nice & soft & slip it into a frying pan while your mum's frying something :)))))) It will come out nice & crunchy & edible for you, but give your parents a heart attack lol. I'd love to hear what you think their reaction ot that would be, but I'm thinking it might make them receptive to alternate meats to stop you putting bugs in their food lol _"I'm afraid that until my brother gets his hunting license, or that one of our friends starts hunting"_ well at least you have an option down the track then :) If they're going to be ok with eating the hunted food then, can you use that to see if you can get them to be ok with it now? Pointing out to them that for your brother to have income options as a hunter, you need to be paying hunters for their catches now, or at least see if you can maybe convince them to buy hunted meat at least once to try it before your brother goes to the effort of getting his hunting licence. Maybe see if you can get your brother on board with this too? If all of this fails, try grass fed beef or bison. Your parents can hopefully be convinced to go with that by telling them the health benefits of it, but raised well, it's actually really good for the environment & there's a lot of farmers around the world actually using well managed livestock to restore land. Game meats are still better, but if you can find well managed beef or other ruminant meat, it's still a pretty good option all round. Here's a couple of videos on how it can be raised & the positive impact possible ua-cam.com/video/vpTHi7O66pI/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/q7pI7IYaJLI/v-deo.html more & more grass fed/grass finished beef is being raised that way, so just buying grass fed will support that, or to guarantee it's done that way, go with certified organic. They have reward systems in place that almost guarantee all their producers have switched to that system. If price isn't an issue, but keeping the same food as always is, that could be the easiest option to get your parents onto. This stuff always works better with baby steps :) A small but consistent change is far better & more meaningful than a drastic change that only lasts for a short time before returning to old habits :) Anyway good luck with your parents, I'm sure you'll manage at least something with them sooner or later..... even if it takes until you are an adult & inviting them to your home for fresh game meat dinners :)
+Tory Jefferson That's in a natural way... a part of life and the food chain. Slowly killing them by keeping them in small living spaces, injecting them with hormones, torturing them, and killing them in inhumane way is NOT a part of life.
I find the excuse that “people will lose their jobs if we go vegetarian” absolutely ridiculous. Human trafficking provides jobs too, does that mean it should prevail? Not everything that provides a job is a good thing
@@fatherdog346 regulations but of they weren't endangered it would be fine to kill and if u get a license to kill a certain animal then you can kill it
@A Fan they'll probably use their existing farm to plant plants, or sell the farm to someone who would plant plants on it, and have the opportunity to use the money from the sale to perhaps start a new business
Not trying to be mean or anything, but I think when they said it would be a gradual process, they didn't mean individually, but for everyone as a whole. Like, at first only a few people would be vegetarian, and over time more and more until everyone was vegetarian. Not one person would gradually transition into being vegetarian. Just wanted to clarify.
and also people on the meat diet would literally go insane seeing as their would be no meat left they might even start cannibalising other people to survive with meat but that an extremely rare chance. plus a lot of peoples favourite dinners or lunches contain meat in it and if your favourite food was cut off and replaced you we be angry
cannibalising is a bit far. if anything, we'd start hunting things like rabbits, pigeons and deer. however, if the ammount of people doing this is too large, these wild animals would face extinction. hence the lifestock, which is bred and slautered to keep up with the demand. the reason we have grown to such large numbers is due to farming and having no preditors to keep numbers down. in the natural world, carnivors starve to death if their food source is too low from over hunting. allowing prey numbers to rise. the cycle repeats. being omnivores, we would still have plants to sustain us as the prey numbers go down, so we'd just wipe them out 1 by 1. moving through every animal species. untill we are eating bugs for meat. only then would cannibalism be something to consider. but by then all animals would be extinct and the worlds ecosystem would have crumbled. wiping us out anyway. i may have overthought this and gone to far. after all, lifestock would surely come back way before it got super out of hand.
Since I went vegeterian, Ive lost weight, became healthier and I can eat without knowing that my dinner once screamed for its life. Healthier physically and mentally
Please consider veganism because your food still comes from animals that scream for their lives. Calves and chicks are killed en masse to produce milk and eggs.
+Nurul Hanis Hindu, or Hinduism, is a religion. Saying you 'love Hindu food' is like saying you love Christian food, or you love Muslim food. It makes no sense. You love Indian food.
LordofFullmetal a nutritionist (someone who actually understands nutrition) would tell you that a vegetarian diet is healthier than an omnivorous one, and a vegan diet is the healthiest diet of all three. Try again.
I really want to be a vegetarian, but my parents say I'm too young ( Im 16) even though I had tried to convince them that I'm not. I'm reducing the amount of meat I eat, and as soon as I move out, I'll be a vegetarian 😊
well if they're hard to convince, maybe you could switch to eating more ethical meat - insects. Ask them to take you to a pet store & buy some crickets or meal worms & find how to breed them on the internet & then offer them up to your mum while she's preparing dinner (still alive) & tell her "I see your point now & have decided I will agree to continue eating ethical meats as long as you join me.... here you go, I grew you dinner :)" Bet she lets you go vegetarian then :)) Please be careful though & don't go vegan, it's not sustainable or good for animals or your health! meats like insect flours & wild animals killed to protect crops (wild pigs & deer) are much better to eat than vegan is! (and "cricket flour" can be purchased from amazon & various places btw, but it is expensive. Adding that to vegetarian or vegan dishes will give you all the nutrients & proteins you need from meat, with far less environmental costs than by eating plant foods)
Remind them that: 100g of chicken has 27g of protein, while soy beans contain 36g of protein per 100g, lentils contain 26, kidney bean contain 24. Spinach has loads of iron, and you can get vitamin b12 from supplements and nutritional yeast (which also has 52g of protein!) And you can get omega 3 from seeds and supplements.
Its already a good start that you are trying. My parents weren't okay with it in the beginning. But I just stopped eating the meat they served me at dinner. And eventually, they realized that I wasn't going to eat it so they just didn't make it for me:) Maybe not the best technique but it worked, I'm now almost two years vegetarian
I was a vegetarian for a year just because I wanted to it isnt hard lol, besides the harassment you get from some people who shouldn't be verbally attacking you
I really don't get what is so exciting about not eating something. Omnivores can eat everything that a vegetarian eats and a lot more. I am just curious, what were the reasons why you tried this?
Seeing you can greatly reduce animal suffering, resource consumption and pollution through simple changes in dietry habits, it's one of the most valuable things you can do as an individual, and a pretty good place to start if you want to make a difference to the world and leave some kind of legacy.
You know what would happen if the world went vegetarian/vegan? 8 million less people would die of starvation, meat production would slow down, meaning less water being used to produce beef, less methane gasses coming from cows, no deforestation, no pain and suffering for animals and healthier human beings! I don't know why we shouldn't start now!
No, the answer is to increase efficiency in order to reduce the use of pastures and the amount of space required to produce livestock feed. This is going to happen, so don't worry and keep your gainz by eating mmoar meat
I'm vegetarian from birth as my mother is a vegetarian. I had a meat phase in the 8th grade and I had never felt so bad before. I haven't touched meat since then. Just hate it when vegans or other vegetarians try to shove the lifestyle down others throats, or when people who eat meat try to make me eat meat.
I understand that vegs can't force non-veggie people to stop eating meat, but i feel like in the majority of times vegetarians/vegans are just explaining why they are veg and meat eaters complain about it, saying that vegs are forcing them (just because they actually feel bad). I don't think any veg has forced a meat eater to stop eating meat... Like FORCING??.. xd And almost every parent gives their children animal products like they had decided it. Veg people obviously shouldn't be rude to meat eaters, but if you don't try to explain people the reasons why consuming animal products it's bad for literally everyone and the planet, the climate crisis won't stop.
While the entire word going vegetarian would obviously help the environment, it's not exactly realistic (at least right away). People who are set in there ways aren't likely to drastically change their lifestyle overnight. A more achievable goal would be to reduce our meat intake gradually over time, particularly beef which is the most harmful to the environment. Also, you kinda missed the fact that even if the world went vegetarian, animal agriculture wouldn't disappear due to the still existing production/demand of animal products like eggs and milk (although it definitely would shrink a lot). Great video though, such a fascinating and important issue (:
True, but since the mass scale production of meat by the meat industry leads to mass animal agriculture, which is the problem like you said. Cutting down on meat consumption would still help the environment due to the demand of meat decreasing, which would decrease meat production, which would decrease animal agriculture, etc etc. Sorry if I sound jumbled I'm in a rush while writing this, hope I made sense.
COmpletely the other way around. Cows consume 14x the calories that humans consume. This requires more land to grow food, whetehr it be grain or grass-fed. It would be more fficient to eat plants directly than to feed them to an animal, considering that animals waste those nutrients moving, pooping, and reproducing.
Mason Del Mar see I said I'd gradually reduce my intake, but then having days where I'd eat it and not just seemed weird so I ended up cutting it out completely and haven't looked back since (1 year being a veggie now) but I guess I never really craved it, so possibly was easy for me, but I've noticed my parents have both cut down on there intake, even without me asking them too, guess that's a positive
I went from being a meat eater to fully vegan last year in September after educating myself thoroughly on the subject. It was quite easy, I'd say thanks to being very open minded and creative. I've had some of the best meals of my life since then, I never feel sluggish anymore after eating, my blood tests are perfect, I meet up with vegans frequently in my city and I live according to my true ethical beliefs. If you're interested in learning about veganism I suggest you watch these movies: -Cowspiracy (environment) -Forks over knives (health) -Earthlings (ethics) Videos on youtube: -101 reasons to go vegan -The secret reason we eat meat by Melanie Joy -Best speech you'll ever hear by Gary Yourofsky
Can I ask you a question? As you say you choose it because of ethical belief. Did you noticed that in video said farm animal will disappear? And what you think what will really happen to those billions animals?
Ugne 0u0 Personally, I don't think farm animals will disappear, because I doubt that all of humanity will ever go vegan. Ideally, as more people go vegan, fewer animals will be bred and/or factory farms will have better conditions for the animals to live in. So in that hypothetical scenario, as the demand for meat decreases, animals won't be bred at the same rate they're killed, and their number will go down overall. I hope I could help you :)
Ugne 0u0 What do you think will happen to them? Even if they get killled, wont it be worth to go full veggie so in the future animals suffer less? Also educate yourself on how farm animals are "made" by humans, this is NOT the natural way, so slowly the numbers of these spezies will normalize as humans dont manipulate for their pleasure anymore. And also with the farm animals that noone would eat (in a fully Veggie World) imagine how kids could go and learn about them, taking care, spend time outside and take care of them in like school projects and so on... Also with elders or volounteers. Hope this draws an epic future picture :-))
I was raised vegetarian, and my whole life I would have kids in school tease me for it. They would say I'm going to die early, wave sandwich meats in my face and in general be horrible to me for it. I mean, the stereotype is that vegans and vegetarians are always rude about meat eater's dietary choices, but for me it was the opposite. I wish people could just accept that I don't want to eat animals and leave it at that, I don't tell anyone else how to eat so why is it that everyone tries to tell me?
It's because of people like vegan gains.... The loudest minority is always the rudest in every group, and they seem like they're the majority(because they're so loud). I couldn't care less if someone ate literal shit, just don't tell ME what *I* should put in *MY* body.
The mean vegans are really outspoken like ^ said.. I'm vegan and I get bullied lol.. I've never told other people what to eat but people overreact to it all the time :/
Its cause a few vegans tried to push their eating habits on others everyone else gets labeled with that stigma. I try not to mention my diet until people start to notice I've never eaten meat.
I am a vegetarian which means plant based + dairy ( no eggs). I would like to tell everyone that vegetarian diet has so many options available that you will never run out of them. I thinks it is more Ethical to be a vegetarian / vegan.
I see where this is going, vegetarian they call it boring. Boring? Am I bored at roast potatoes and carrots? I don't think so. It means you eat with a conscience, not with morals but with concern that the food (meat) is evil so you don't eat it. Try going on a desert island crash landed there by plane all by yourself, I'm pretty sure for those raw vegans you can drink out of a coconut instead of drinking coffee.
@Sergi Sanz Arot Factory farms do terrible stuff to chicks in the egg industry, so its still unethical, maybe if you had a hen in your backyard that lays eggs it would be ethical
Then I'm going to invest in vitamin companies because while vegetarians eat cheese and eggs and drink milk, vegans do not and don't get some of the key vitamins that you get from stuff like that. That's why many vegans (including some that I know) have to take vitamins.
Well like I freaking love cheese so I can never go Vegan but recently I find myself preferring a mostly a vegetarian diet, I notice I have way more energy eating veges than I do regularly eating meat. So inadvertently I'm kind of becoming a vegetarian, haven't really come out to my meat loving friends or family yet though. So I'm still a closet Vegetarian.
The intern teacher in my class told us to write an essay on any environmental issue and I literally wrote this video and won 1st in my class and got lots of praising! ❤️
I think people should just eat less meat. Not necessarily going vegetarian or vegan. Exemple if you just eat meat once or twice a week istead of 2 or 3 times a day that would make a huge difference without being too "extreme" for people to do. I feel like people in general only see two options; being a hardcore vegetarian or a hardcore meat eater. Anyway its never been natural for humans (except a few cultures) to eat meat every day. People can afford that now only because of refrigeration exists.I think meat should be in like only the special(s) meals. Also what I hate is the way we treat animals now. Farmers now use cruel "techniques" to make meat tender or better tasting, because an old cow is just not enough anymore. When my father was young, they only ate chickens or cows when they were really old and about to die. Okay the meat was not as tender as now but at least it was not veals they kept in a small box so they can hardly move and feed them only with milk wich is really bad for them, or to stuff ducks untill they vomit to make their liver fatter. The big problem now is in the mentality I think. People don't know anymore that meat is a dead animal. They just don't know how it feels like to kill an animal to eat. All the commercials around us talk about meat like it grows on trees. Like a smiling chicken on a box of nuggets or things like "bio pig", but in the end it is just the same cruel techniques used to respond to the way too heavy demand
Simon Côté I wish more people had the mindset like you! Every little helps, right? I guess it's sad, though, that vegetarianism is seen as so extreme. I guess people are just too used to having meat in every meal.
Totally agree! I will never be vegan or vegetarian, I just couldnt But the world would be so much better if we just ate less, like idk 4 days a week perhaps? And I hate those new farms who dont care about the animals, they only care about the meat Edit: and the farmers only care about the money, those little golddiggers :(
"extreme" lol why everyone says it? idk there is no ethical way of killing an animal lol I understand your opinion but i don't think the same i just wanted to share it. Im not like some vegans that go crazy in the comments
I'm almost vegetarian. I occasionally eat chicken to appease my parents, but as soon as I move out, no more for me. I don't like killing and eating meat gives me a guilt feeling.
Geckos and Games so you arent vegetarian.. dont call yourself a vegetarian if you take "breaks". My parents didnt like me being vegetarian either i have been since i was 9, im 19 now. I told my parents i didnt like the murder of animals when they said i should eat meat, no excuses:
+Maria Huynh we are primitive, territorial apes. Most of us will always wage war because intolerance, xenophobia and the need for a sense of belonging are programmed into our brains.
after being laughed at , for years .....for the first time, i am proud to be a vegetarian(but i still respect and love all my non-vegetarian brothers and sisters around the world.....and hope u have a gr8 future ahead :)...but we all can try our best so help our planet right? ....its our own planet ...its our duty ....and i am sure each every one who saw this video will bring a change in their life...we can save earth ...if we do it together
I've been vegetarian for over a year and transitioned to vegan over a month ago. I really encourage more people to at least start with a vegetarian diet because it is literally the best thing I have ever done. I am so much more happier and healthier because of it, and it feels good to know that I am helping the planet in some sort of way.
my main reason was for the animals but after watching a lot of documentaries i became more aware about the planet and health reasons, so i went vegan :) I would encourage you to try being vegetarian first since it is easier :)
I was vegan for 5 years. The hardest part was the constant daily jokes/harassment from fools who couldn't handle my dietary preferences. I mean, I heard the same lame jokes several times every day, wtf is up with that. They complained that vegans were preachy, I never was, while they would mock and jeer literally all the time. Also barbecued boar sausages are the shit, so yeah, no more veganism. Not to mention that being healthily vegan is pretty expensive in the developing world (currently residing in Brazil). I don't support factory farming. I only eat hunted meat, and no dairy, or I'll accept meat given to me by friends or family. The biggest problem in the world is overpopulation, something society doesn't want to face up to. Less people = less material consumption = a more balanced world. Not to mention we'll stop crowding out the rest of the animals we share the planet with.

I slowly but surely started to transition to become vegetarian when I was 13, two years later became vegan. Another year later and loving it, I honestly feel happier and healthier without meat or any animal products. Best choice I’ve made :) yeah so this is really awkward cause i’m not vegan or vegetarian lmao. do what you wanna do. the important thing is getting all your nutrients in a healthy way. animal products or not.
it’s so nice to see all the other vegetarians and vegans in the comments! i really struggled in the beginning as a vegetarian, but soon i realized how wide the variety of food can be outside of simple meat based meals. An important tip for new vegetarians is to make sure you are getting enough iron and b12!! it’s really easy to be deficient of these without meat intake. i take a supplement myself :)
I'm a vegetarian and although I'm not against people eating meat because I'm doing it for my own reasons, In my opinion people (at least in the US) should reduce the amount of meat they consume. Not due to any personal reasons such as factory farming, but because meat is becoming one of the biggest issues for heath issues because of how much we consume. Meat is alright in a balanced diet, but increasing the amount we eat as much as we would eat grains, fruits, and vegetables, that's a huge health risk and why heart problems are so often and risky in our country. I'm just saying my opinion, you don't have to stop eating meat but be careful how much you consume. It really could save your life.
Bodybuilders eat a lot more meat, than an average person and they are perfectly fine and healthy. (I don't mean steroid users, I rather mean fitness people.)
I've been vegan for 4 months and my skin is clearer than its ever been, and all of my vitamins and protein are even better than when I ate meat and dairy. I don't have stomach issues anymore, and I find myself getting sick less often.
Skylar Adrianna good for you! It's great to hear about new vegans who are noticing changes for the better in themselves, as well as helping out the environment and the animals (or course)! One thing, just be careful that you're getting enough iron (I'm a vegan gal myself) and if you're a female who has her period, you lose blood! This means you need more iron than boys your age. Don't forget to eat lots of leafy greens, beans and other iron rich foods, as well as getting enough vitamin C (it helps for iron absorption)! Be careful of synthetic supplements, though. They can be dangerous. Maybe if you're worried you're not getting enough, just try and incorporate more foods like I mentioned into your diet. If you notice symptoms of anaemia, maybe talk to your doctor or get a blood haemoglobin test! Good luck!
I have been vegetarian for 4 months, and it's amazing. I used to always feel bad about hurting animals and cry at night, and now I know I'm not longer having a negative impact. :). To anyone going vegetarian, good luck!
I am 100% okay with people eating meat as a vegetarian. But what is not okay is how farmers treat animals. They are living, just like us. Give them a good life before they get slaughtered.
IKR i like to eat meat like four times a week but i hate it how farmers treat the animals because i really am an animal lover And i also hate fat people who eat meat like twice a day thats grose
easiest solution is kangaroo meat, ALL kangaroos are wild & killed by a bullet to their head where they stand in the wild, purely for population control to prevent them dying of starvation. Deer is often killed in the same way, although some can be farmed, so check before eating organic standards are higher with animal welfare than regular grass fed is not as high, but for cows is generally pretty good. "free range" on chickens ususally means nothing & because they're small & can't fight back, chickens are frequently abused, cows not so much. Pigs are also housed horribly indoors on metal So there are options for better animal welfare, but gee I wish we could all work together to close all factory farms! There ARE alternatives! Look at this system, ua-cam.com/video/ZP_tR4FNx3E/v-deo.html just as productive as feedlots, but clearly nicer for the cows
Jacklin, not really because if you hurt a cow, it will kick you & make your life hell, while chickens can do nothing & their bones are easier to break. Nowadays most grass fed cows are in intensive managed rotational grazing systems, where they are moved everyday. If the farmer abuses them, it makes his life hell. Completely forgetting all welfare issues, farmers want to treat cows kindly so their job is easier. Why do you say their abuse is equal? what's that based on?
Lilac Lizard I am slightly too lazy to type everything out, so you should go watch Erin Janus's video on the dairy industry. It isn't too long, only 5 minutes.
They missed a couple things: 1. we use antibiotics on farm animals because they act like growth hormones (ex. fat chickens). This results in antibiotic resistant infections in domestic and wild animals AND in humans. 2. Animal farming creates toxic runoffs that pour into the ocean or wetlands (swine feces has killed off fish species in US rivers!). 3. the genetically selected breeds of farm animals are susceptible to human like disease (avian flu, swine flu). 4. fishing is threatening the genetic diversity of fish stocks in oceans/rivers and destabilizing the ecosystems. 5. the total quantity of suffering in the world is *higher* because the 20 billion chickens are genetically mutated, suffering creatures awaiting death. They grow so quickly they get kidney failure, broken legs, ruptured spinal discs. They eat food lacking in nutrition and get infections that cause septic wounds.
Nadia Jones no it is not, i don't think that you read the statement properly How can plants have kidney failure How can plants reduce the number of fish in the ocean?
They also missed the fact that if the world went vegetarian, someone could just toss a match on your garden or crop field and burn away your food supply.
Do you not eat it because you dislike meat, or because you just don't want to eat meat? Because I can't imagine not eating a nice, juicy cheeseburger if you still enjoy it. I for one can't even eat lettuce without gagging. And even if I do force it down, I feel horrible afterwards and sometimes get diarrhea.
+Rohit Kamalakar its worse than that, some people in some parts of the world such as asians brutally torture cats and dogs to "tenderize" the meat. and all over the world animals are subjected to tons of abuse before slaughter also...lots of humans dont care if an animal suffers at all and act worse than any animal!
If anyone in the comments feels bad seeing so many people say it was easy for them just know that it’s okay if it’s hard for you. I’ve been a vegetarian for about seven months and earlier on there were points when I struggled. At one point I was sobbing because I reached out to other vegetarians online and got a mean response. No ones journey is the same and I’m proud of you for doing your best!
yeh, sadly despite the claims of ethical eating, it's more of a cult & really not nice people - at least for the vegans, vegetarians are normally nice, but I'm guessing you ended up in vegan land for that negative response you got? Try genuinely vegetarian communities rather than vegan ones, or "ethical eaters" who may be vegetarian or may also include insects & sustainable meats in their diet. They tend to be much nicer & more supportive people :) permaculture, homesteaders, sustainable living people all tend to be doing what they are cause they're caring people & as such they'll support people too. Did you get your questions answered in the end & get your issues sorted? If not, what's still causing you problems? & kind of you to support others :)

I am a born vegetarian. Never have eaten meat in my life. My parents have never eaten meat. Same is with my ancestors for over 5000 years in recorded history. Same is the case of 40% Indians and we are just fine. You can try Indian food, having a history of vegetarianism have led to so much variety of vegetarian food.

Suyash Awasthi Same here my grandma, aunt and my mom Is vegetarian because my mom say animal need to live like us they not born to let people eat :| if you don't believe me why there many animal run away from us because they will think that you try to kill them that why my family is vegetarian. My family is vegetarian the reason is we follow Buddha religion, Buddha don't eat meat so that why.......
+Damjan Joveski im sorry that your addiction to rotting flesh and cruelty is so intense that you can't even go 15 minutes of your life without killing innocent animals :-/
Actually meat ins't that big a problem, its the sugar intake and sedentary lifestyles that promote the biggest amount of obesity in developed countries. It also doesn't help that most food being sold has been contaminated with chemicals, which, over the years, can add up and do all sorts of damage to our bodies.
I've always been vegetarian, even as a child I would never eat meat. For about a year now I've been vegan. The environment is the reason why I did it. I feel much better about myself.
The first time i went vegetarian was when I was staying at a place where I could choose what I eat. Growing up I didn’t have a choice. I remember my dad mocking “healthy” food and my mom and my culture in general being really ignorant to other options besides eating animal products. I just became vegan and I’m going through massive changes in energy levels, blood pressure, vivid dreams. It is a rollercoaster and it is my choice.
Take it from someone who used to eat meat on almost every meal: Being vegetarian is easy. One or two weeks until you get used to it mentally and physically and that's it! Afterwards it's just like any other day, except this time you sleep better at night and you're leading a healthy lifestyle! Also for those of you who want to loose weight fast, go vegetarian for one month, thank me later.
+everest108 Just because you're vegetarian does not automatically make you healthier. Japan has the longest average lifespan in the world and their diet mainly consists of fish. Try again troll.
everest108 Japan has the longest average lifespan and their diet consists mainly of fish. You said meat was unhealthy. Only processed meats are the unhealthy ones. Btw, I am japanese myself, we eat lots of fish and vegetables. Tofu is also widely eaten, very healthy food.
I feel you. I became a pescitarian when I was 9, and I became a lacto-ovo vegetarian when I was eleven. I'll be thirteen in a few months. It has been three years since my last chicken wing, and I have no regrets.
Ok so I’m a learning to be a dairy farmer 👩🏼🌾 although I fully accept that people do have other opinions and I am more than happy to accept that. In fact, if any of you guys can think of a better way to do dairy then please do tell so I can put my ideas forward and try make my local farms more welfare friendly 😊
Look up Alan Savory & holistic grazing & then look into more practical applications of that in dairy. That's not so much for cow welfare, but rather for the welfare of the planet. It's unlikely you'd have the control to be able to implement when you're just starting out, but still interesting to learn about :) In theory, you would divide the farm into about 60-90 long, thin paddocks with a run down the middle & the milking shed in the middle of it all. Cows would travel to the milking shed & then that paddock would be closed off & a different paddock opened, where they would spend the day eating, then they'd make their way back to the milking shed & that paddock would be closed off & another opened & they return to that one & so on, therefore giving them just 1 day per paddock & the rest of the land 60 or so days or uninterrupted growing, resulting in lush, long grass & mass carbon sequestration due to matching long roots. Paddocks would only be small, only big enough to have enough grass for 1 day's food, which means that they also get completely covered in manure by the end of the day, therefore providing a blanket of natural fertiliser over everything. There is an additional option to add layer chickens into the same land too, wait 3-4 days after teh cows ahve left the paddock & then tow in a trailer set up to be full of chickens & their nests & sleeping perches (move them each night while they're in there sleeping) to feast on the maggots breeding in the manure & break it up & add to it in the process :) Extra profit, no extra land or resources needed :) Anyway, enjoy your farming :) I'm really just suggesting the above as something to look at & learn about, but not something you will realisticly have any ability to implement for a very long time, if ever, but you might be able to find smaller methods to improve the land based on that, but overall, just enjoy your new vocation :) It's rare nowadays for people not born on farms to choose to go into farming, you're doing a great service to humanity & don't let those that won't do the work you are going to tell you otherwise!
Lilac Lizard. Thank you so much!! I've heard of something similar to that before and it is a really interesting set up that can be learnt from. At the moment most people are using around two larger fields and just walking the cattle across each day; for example, they would be in one field between morning and afternoon milking and moved to another field for the evening/following morning so they'd also have a variety of enrichments and less walking during the day when their rumens are active. Grazing methods are definitely a topic that I'd like for everyone to gain a better knowledge in ( including myself) so that new methods can be discovered such as patch grazing which you were talking about. Again thank you so much and I'll definitely look further in to it.
again you can eat meat, but don't watch the damn video if all you're going to do is bash people who don't eat meat and say that you're healthier than non meat eaters.
Jennie Nie what do people mean eating meat is not healthy lmao like yah eating green is but PROTEIN is important as well! Like I just don't get people these animals exist in this world for a reason. Anyways I don't need hate I'm just saying vegans and vegetarians are missing out
Miaa MSP You can get protein from beans. And yes, animals do exist for a reason, but can you tell me what that reason is? No, it isn't to be eaten. It's like for humans - to reproduce and spread their genes. _Not_ to be eaten. Animals have emotions too, you know, and it just isn't ethical to kill them when they're here for the same reasons as us.
I'm from a community in India who practices vegetarianism over 1500 years as per written records. It's been 2 yrs I live out of India and happy to share that I didn't compromise on my beliefs and able to maintain my food habits with out consuming even egg. (Egg is not considered as part of vegetarian diet in India even though it is getting increasingly popular among vegetarians)
People will probably be killing the vegetarians in the comments. if you are a vegetarian that is be hated on, don't let them get to you okay? your'e amazing :)
If the whole world went vegetarian, we would still use land in order to produce dairy products so not all land would clear up. You should do a video about what would happen if the world went vegan
RV it could happen in the distant future, out of necessity such as lack of resources, or the eventual advocacy of animal rights. Maybe not 100% of people vegan but it might become the norm rather than the exception.
_A_ So when they get out of high school where their jobs don’t provide lunches at all what are they gonna complain about? Packing a lunch is what you’re going to be doing for the rest of your life. People in high school are not children anymore. You can pack like a grown up. I was vegan all throughout high school and it wasn’t a burden. I wasn’t all “Uhh the school is giving out chicken so i’m only a part time vegan”.. That’s ridiculous.
I used to be that guy who would tease vegetarians. I thought I'd never become one myself and give up meat just because it was too tasty. But that was the only reason I was eating it. Having a dog has taught me a lot about animal intelligence. My dog definitely feels all the same things as I do. Pain, joy, sadness, anger. One day i decided to open mindedly accept what I saw in a documentary without my mental meat loving barrier up. Discovering that pigs are more intelligent than dogs really made me start to see more clearly. I saw pigs in cages so small they couldn't even turn around, and piglets getting castrated without any anesthetics. And I could see the fear in their eyes and hear their screams. I saw the same fear in cows as well. I imagined for a moment, what if that was my dog in there with a thousand others just like him. From there I just decided that taste wasn't a worthy enough reason for me to continue eating meat. I've drastically reduced the consumption of diary products over time and it seems that a vegan lifestyle is not as bad as it once appeared.
Martha Hung i’m 13 in less than a week and I went veggie months ago there are sooo many different sources of protein other than meat. It’s a lot better for the environment and the animals
Laura Xx I’m convincing them I just went to a camp and they prepared lots of vegetarian food, and I realised I liked them. I am telling my mom I love animals and want to protect them. And I told her I will survive being a vegan or vegetarian since vegetarian/vegan food are the best - healthy, hearty, animal-cruelty-free
I agree being a vegetarian and when I was 1-4 years of life I loved meat but then my parents stopped eating meat so did I don't even remember what meat taste like except the veggie "meats" and there is really good fake bacon two so it isn't that bad sometimes people look at me crazy or try to make me eat meat when I smell it I gag because I dislike the smell just of meat after I say I half to go to the bathroom cause people like that I try to avoid but it's fine it's a small trade off if your up to it.
Sadie MaeSparkle how did you do it? I'm 16 and I live with meat lovers lol but I am trying! Like I would go without meat for a week and my evil mom would go and make tacos (my favorite)😭
Personally, my family is vegetarian simply because of the health benefits. I can see why people like meat (hell, turkey was the shit before I went back to being a vegetarian), but it's just not for me. This video is pretty factual, and I do like the idea that we all don't have to go vegan/vegetarian: we just need to cut back on our meat consumption :)
Crazy808ish.... Why do you care if a random person is healthier? That is the selfish part of being vegetarian and/or vegan. We are going to run out of oxygen. Based on our current rate of seafood consumption, the oceans will run out of fish by 2048... Half of our oxygen comes from the ocean... You see the problems? And I didn't even mention animals...
FrostyWolfZ I wouldn't say it's a selfish reason to be vegan or vegetarian. A lot of people become vegan because of the extreme health benefits it has.
I agree. I just mean that it is silly to only like vegans or vegetarians who are vegan or vegetarian because of health benefits. Because this doesn't really affect anyone else besides themself. The ethicality part affects lots of animals. And the environmental aspect affects everyone and everything on this planet. I do not disagree with going vegan or vegetarian for health benefits, or have anything against people who have done so, I just think it is ridiculous to discredit vegans or vegetarians who did it for the environment or the animals. And the animals and environment are saved by going vegan or vegetarian regardless the reason...
FrostyWolfZ Except as a person who is interested in general health, I agree with, relate to, and respect people who know things about it. On the other hand, I don't really give a flip about the animals, and I'm not so gullible as to believe the whole pollution nonsense you do.
I’ve been vegan for a year now and I have no regrets. My health has improved, my diet is a lot more varied and delicious, I can eat a lot more without feeling too full and I feel like I am making a positive difference in the world everyday.
+GennyQuest It's quite funny. :D Vegans try to prove they are of Divine origins, being holier and better than all of the pathetic human beings :D Hilarious
Agreed. Seen some pretty horrible videos of dairy farms in New Zealand. Organic farming must be encouraged where animals can at least live with some dignity before they are slaughtered.
My reason is for how much steroids and other stuff they give the animals , it’s he circle of life so eating / killing them is not my issue it’s the health risks , aspecially with how much meat we eat now
Ok so lots of people are farmers and depend on animal agriculture, but a lot of people also used to be slave owners and depend on slave labor for a living, so that's a poor excuse for keeping animal agriculture around
You're comparing HUMAN slave labor to animals? ...OK. There are plenty of ranches, where I'm from, where the cattle are pampered and roam for miles. There are two sides to every coin and unfortunately everyone says 'factory farming' every time this subject comes up. There are people who still care about their animals, trust me.
+PokestarTheZylar To feed the world's CURRENT demand of meat, dairy, and eggs on these "pasture-raised" " nice farms", we would need all the land of 6 or more planet Earth's...

Cool. I want to be a vegetarian myself or maybe even vegan for health reasons and because I feel bad for the animals.
FrostyWolfZ Thanks. What made you want to be a vegan?
DustinTheSeahawksFan Well, I have been vegetarian for 10 months, and before that, I was pescetarian for 2 years or so. Then, this past summer I was visiting Europe, and by day I explored the country, and by night I researched and watched videos about the truth of dairy and eggs, and how they are equal to meat in their horror. I had started drinking soymilk a few months before, but that was partially because I just kind of liked soymilk, and I knew the production of dairy wasn't great, I just didn't realize how bad it was.
FrostyWolfZ Cool. I'll do it!

I'd love to hear what you think their reaction ot that would be, but I'm thinking it might make them receptive to alternate meats to stop you putting bugs in their food lol
_"I'm afraid that until my brother gets his hunting license, or that one of our friends starts hunting"_ well at least you have an option down the track then :) If they're going to be ok with eating the hunted food then, can you use that to see if you can get them to be ok with it now?

The most significant impact is that billions of animals would no longer be tortured and killed.
But they'll still be killed and eaten. By other animals.
It's messed up either way you look at it.
+Tory Jefferson That's in a natural way... a part of life and the food chain. Slowly killing them by keeping them in small living spaces, injecting them with hormones, torturing them, and killing them in inhumane way is NOT a part of life.
Yeah... Other animals that actually need to eat meat...
They are killed, not tortured.

Trust me, when it comes to going vegetarian, a sudden cut off is the easisest way of doing so.
+Winalee fair enough, good point
and also people on the meat diet would literally go insane seeing as their would be no meat left they might even start cannibalising other people to survive with meat but that an extremely rare chance.
plus a lot of peoples favourite dinners or lunches contain meat in it and if your favourite food was cut off and replaced you we be angry
Yes I think so too
cannibalising is a bit far. if anything, we'd start hunting things like rabbits, pigeons and deer. however, if the ammount of people doing this is too large, these wild animals would face extinction. hence the lifestock, which is bred and slautered to keep up with the demand.
the reason we have grown to such large numbers is due to farming and having no preditors to keep numbers down. in the natural world, carnivors starve to death if their food source is too low from over hunting. allowing prey numbers to rise. the cycle repeats.
being omnivores, we would still have plants to sustain us as the prey numbers go down, so we'd just wipe them out 1 by 1. moving through every animal species. untill we are eating bugs for meat. only then would cannibalism be something to consider. but by then all animals would be extinct and the worlds ecosystem would have crumbled. wiping us out anyway.
i may have overthought this and gone to far. after all, lifestock would surely come back way before it got super out of hand.
Everyone should watch earthlings if you need more persuasion to go veggie or vegan

Ria Jain Who said you were gonna die?
I really want to be a vegetarian, but my parents say I'm too young ( Im 16) even though I had tried to convince them that I'm not. I'm reducing the amount of meat I eat, and as soon as I move out, I'll be a vegetarian 😊
well if they're hard to convince, maybe you could switch to eating more ethical meat - insects. Ask them to take you to a pet store & buy some crickets or meal worms & find how to breed them on the internet & then offer them up to your mum while she's preparing dinner (still alive) & tell her "I see your point now & have decided I will agree to continue eating ethical meats as long as you join me.... here you go, I grew you dinner :)"
Bet she lets you go vegetarian then :)) Please be careful though & don't go vegan, it's not sustainable or good for animals or your health! meats like insect flours & wild animals killed to protect crops (wild pigs & deer) are much better to eat than vegan is! (and "cricket flour" can be purchased from amazon & various places btw, but it is expensive. Adding that to vegetarian or vegan dishes will give you all the nutrients & proteins you need from meat, with far less environmental costs than by eating plant foods)
Go for it!

Have fun with that

Like FORCING??.. xd
And almost every parent gives their children animal products like they had decided it. Veg people obviously shouldn't be rude to meat eaters, but if you don't try to explain people the reasons why consuming animal products it's bad for literally everyone and the planet, the climate crisis won't stop.
Same! I'm a vegetarian, but don't mind if other people eat meat!
i think its the opposite honestly. My relatives ask why i don't eat meat.
Usually they are the ones being mean
Mason Del Mar also not realistic considering many rely on animals since they can't grow plants where they live.
Quite the contrary. Eating less meat is HARDER to achieve because "less" is such a vague goal.
Cool. I want to be a vegetarian or maybe even vegan for health reasons and because I feel bad for the animals.
Can I ask you a question? As you say you choose it because of ethical belief.
Did you noticed that in video said farm animal will disappear? And what you think what will really happen to those billions animals?
Ugne 0u0
Personally, I don't think farm animals will disappear, because I doubt that all of humanity will ever go vegan. Ideally, as more people go vegan, fewer animals will be bred and/or factory farms will have better conditions for the animals to live in. So in that hypothetical scenario, as the demand for meat decreases, animals won't be bred at the same rate they're killed, and their number will go down overall.
I hope I could help you :)
youandme.vegan ♥ Okay I see. But what if into politics comes PETA like people who wants ban the entired industry?
Yeah you do helping out 0u0
I wish people could just accept that I don't want to eat animals and leave it at that, I don't tell anyone else how to eat so why is it that everyone tries to tell me?
i agree. quite a horribble society we live in
unknown It's not youre fault. It's vegans who are dicks to meat eaters. I don't blame those kids, nice vegans are rare

Then I'm going to invest in vitamin companies because while vegetarians eat cheese and eggs and drink milk, vegans do not and don't get some of the key vitamins that you get from stuff like that. That's why many vegans (including some that I know) have to take vitamins.

It really could save your life.
thatnonbinaryboy im a meat eater and i strongly agree, 3 plates of meat a day and nothing more
Shelby Proud I used to raise chickens, not for meat, eggs and I’d go sell them at off the side of a road
I agree and I'm a vegetarian too
I thought burgers had a genetic condition as an excuse for being fat
Good luck!
Lmao you get sick less often? Honey youve been vegan for 4 months unless you get sick every week I wouldnt say you get sick less often
"I get sick less often" WTF HOW, YOU'RE ONLY VEGAN FOR 4 MONTHS the last time I got sick was 3 years ago
Skylar Adrianna Maybe you’re lactose intolerant?
lukas campaert 😂😂
I have been vegetarian for 4 months, and it's amazing. I used to always feel bad about hurting animals and cry at night, and now I know I'm not longer having a negative impact. :). To anyone going vegetarian, good luck!
I am 100% okay with people eating meat as a vegetarian. But what is not okay is how farmers treat animals. They are living, just like us. Give them a good life before they get slaughtered.
IKR i like to eat meat like four times a week but i hate it how farmers treat the animals because i really am an animal lover
And i also hate fat people who eat meat like twice a day thats grose
easiest solution is kangaroo meat, ALL kangaroos are wild & killed by a bullet to their head where they stand in the wild, purely for population control to prevent them dying of starvation.
Deer is often killed in the same way, although some can be farmed, so check before eating
organic standards are higher with animal welfare than regular
grass fed is not as high, but for cows is generally pretty good. "free range" on chickens ususally means nothing & because they're small & can't fight back, chickens are frequently abused, cows not so much. Pigs are also housed horribly indoors on metal
So there are options for better animal welfare, but gee I wish we could all work together to close all factory farms! There ARE alternatives! Look at this system, ua-cam.com/video/ZP_tR4FNx3E/v-deo.html just as productive as feedlots, but clearly nicer for the cows
Lilac Lizard Actually cows are treated horribly too. Their abuse is equal to the other animals (chicken, pig, sheep, etc)
Hypatia4242 thank you for pointing those facts out
Same with our agriculture
FINALLY JESUS CHRIST!!! An intelligent answer with all my reasons and statements in my head put in to one giant awesome comment!!! *YES!!!*
Nadia Jones no it is not, i don't think that you read the statement properly
How can plants have kidney failure
How can plants reduce the number of fish in the ocean?
They also missed the fact that if the world went vegetarian, someone could just toss a match on your garden or crop field and burn away your food supply.
I haven't eaten meat in 11 years
Surprised you're alive.
I bet you tell this to everyone you see
I don't but if you'd like to think that go ahead
Do you not eat it because you dislike meat, or because you just don't want to eat meat? Because I can't imagine not eating a nice, juicy cheeseburger if you still enjoy it. I for one can't even eat lettuce without gagging. And even if I do force it down, I feel horrible afterwards and sometimes get diarrhea.
I don't like it, over the course of a few weeks in 05 , I started to not have a taste meat
i cut meat out of my diet a few months ago and feel sick at the thought of ever eating it again
Same it doesnt feel like food anymore
"More people will turn vegetarians if slaughterhouses have glass walls"
+Rohit Kamalakar its worse than that, some people in some parts of the world such as asians brutally torture cats and dogs to "tenderize" the meat. and all over the world animals are subjected to tons of abuse before slaughter also...lots of humans dont care if an animal suffers at all and act worse than any animal!
ofcourse they would, how many meat eaters will refuse to watch animals getting slaughtered? They don't want to admit it to themselves
+Rebekah M eh just hunt your own meat. Animal dies instantly, you get food, everyone's happy
That's still wrong, although better than buying your meat
not really. have you been on the internet before? lol its not all kitten and fail videos
I believe that we would be better off if everyone was a vegetarian Or Vegan.
I believe your a FUKIN HIPPIE
No.
I believe you didn't think your comment through
Not eating meat won't change people ideologies or hatred just their diet.
+Brooke Smith so?
Proud of being vegetarian...
proud of being omnivorous...
@Laura Martínez that's not true
@Laura Martínez We can actually be healthier without eating meat and animal products, we don't need to eat meat anymore.
Proud as well :) Im happy for u!
proud of flex?
@@lilaclizard4504 thats not true. Theres plenty of kind wholesome vegan communities. I’m not apart of them bc i dont go on internet much but i’ve seen lovely interactions between vegans and meat eaters. No reason to stereotype
Vegans are the reason I'm not vegan
+Aby Gaëlle you can't use meat eater as an insult just because they eat meat. I mean, I love meat, but don't get me wrong, I feel kinda bad for them cows XD
If you don't wanna be vegan then don't be but don't blame people who are for your choice
+ZarolTheFlame chill
selfish for what reasons? I'm curious, tell me. Your excessive use of insults does not nullify what you said earlier. And if its not that deep does that mean its not that true? Or did something I said merely make you question a part of your so called 'superiority' that you did not want to?*****
+Autocongirl you are realllly reaching here
I am a born vegetarian. Never have eaten meat in my life. My parents have never eaten meat. Same is with my ancestors for over 5000 years in recorded history. Same is the case of 40% Indians and we are just fine.
You can try Indian food, having a history of vegetarianism have led to so much variety of vegetarian food.
Sharki. There are varying theories about this, some claiming that they did eat meat and other saying they didn't. I have found more number of convincing theories to believe they didn't. I might be wrong though.
Dax roxan. where did I mention I am supreme?
5000 years? you mad bruh? 😂😂
Kevin. There are rough estimates going from 2000 years to 5000 years too. And there are varying theories over that.
I was once a vegetarian.....
worst 15 minutes of my life
Lol
Rashotcake It was a joke man.....
I do really love my meat though
I ate a salad today. I hate being poor
+Damjan Joveski im sorry that your addiction to rotting flesh and cruelty is so intense that you can't even go 15 minutes of your life without killing innocent animals :-/
+bigbangukissfan found the vegan
Vegan for 5 years and i concur 💯🙏🏽💪🏽
Thats so awesome
America should eat just 1/8 amount of the meat we currently eat. obesity and heart problems would go down soooo much
super cool guy The effects of withdraw would terrible, well not as bad as drug withdraws
Actually meat ins't that big a problem, its the sugar intake and sedentary lifestyles that promote the biggest amount of obesity in developed countries. It also doesn't help that most food being sold has been contaminated with chemicals, which, over the years, can add up and do all sorts of damage to our bodies.
Why not just switch to grass fed like Australia did so you get the good fats instead of the bad in the meat?
But the meat is so tasty
Like sweets , but on dinner and bigger
Meat itself doesn't cause heart problems or obesity, only cheap disgusting fat meat does that.
I'm a vegetarian, and this was very interesting =).
lol cute display picture.
Thanks :3
+HamsterKitty449 he looks tasty
I'm a vegetarian too :3
We still need animals for other things like milk and eggs still though, although not as much it's still a lot.
we'd fart rainbows and milky ways
End of story.
+Garroth Ro'Meave I liked your reply because of your name
Why you said fart

Recently decided to become vegetarian because I feel a lot of guilt about my personal impact on the earth, excited to start this new lifestyle!
hey! how are you doing? :)
Am a vegan
An
(looks at comments) Nope..... bye.
Same
I quite indefinitely accede with this aforesaid pleasant observation
+Sir Patatosworth the Third Y'all need to teach me how to make stuff sound so fancy like that
I was just skimming then i was like yup im done lol. it's just a bunch of preaching lmao. idc
same. never look at comments on a vegetarian or *vegan* video. -shudders-
I've been vegetarian for 5 months strong !
Go vegan!
TheManne Manne I love cheese to much
Isabelle Cann You go!
Cool. What made you want to be a vegetarian?
DustinTheSeahawksFan I just have never really enjoyed meat and I wanted to be healthy and it's weird to eat dead animals...
I've always been vegetarian, even as a child I would never eat meat. For about a year now I've been vegan. The environment is the reason why I did it. I feel much better about myself.
Really, Moriarty? What about killing Sherlock?
Wow! Your so cool.
Omg. The Napoleon of Crime is a vegan. My life is complete.
Vegetarian is diet. Vegan is a religion.
Gunmaster G-9 not really. Veganism has facts
How is salmon not a healthy food?
Take it from someone who used to eat meat on almost every meal: Being vegetarian is easy. One or two weeks until you get used to it mentally and physically and that's it! Afterwards it's just like any other day, except this time you sleep better at night and you're leading a healthy lifestyle!
Also for those of you who want to loose weight fast, go vegetarian for one month, thank me later.
Cool. What made you want to be a vegetarian? I want to be one myself or maybe even vegan for health reasons and because I feel bad for the animals.
+everest108 Just because you're vegetarian does not automatically make you healthier. Japan has the longest average lifespan in the world and their diet mainly consists of fish. Try again troll.
Saw 3 pigs getting killed brutally for food, couldn't eat meat after that, couldn't sleep for a few days also.
@Jokez You're joking right? Look at you comment and tell me again how I'm the troll here. I honestly feel sad for you.
everest108 Japan has the longest average lifespan and their diet consists mainly of fish. You said meat was unhealthy. Only processed meats are the unhealthy ones. Idk why you are saying I am joking?
www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/high-life-expectancy-in-japan-partly-down-to-diet-carbohydrates-vegetables-fruit-fish-meat-a6956011.html
"The population of the island nation, which has one of the lowest mortality rates in the world, eat diets high in certain carbohydrates, vegetables, fruits as well as *fish* and *meat*."
Btw, I am japanese myself, we eat lots of fish and vegetables. Tofu is also widely eaten, very healthy food.
Damn the comments are filled with vegetarians that think they're better than everybody
IKR
The same vegetarians that are ok with eating chocolate picked by slaves and wearing conflict diamonds on their fingers.
exactly
I'm vegan and I say to each his own. It was a personal choice I made based on information I was given.
Hoverboard giveaway on my channel! Check it out!
I'm a 13 year old boy and this is about my third month of being vegetarian. If i can do it, so can you
Congrats keep it up!!
It's not a matter of "can" it's a matter of "want"
I could go vegetarian, but i don't want to.
I feel you. I became a pescitarian when I was 9, and I became a lacto-ovo vegetarian when I was eleven. I'll be thirteen in a few months. It has been three years since my last chicken wing, and I have no regrets.
I can go vegetarian, but I find it stupid so 🙂
Enjoy the vitamin deficiencies and lowered testosterone levels. You might hit partial puberty when you're 18.
There is an additional option to add layer chickens into the same land too, wait 3-4 days after teh cows ahve left the paddock & then tow in a trailer set up to be full of chickens & their nests & sleeping perches (move them each night while they're in there sleeping) to feast on the maggots breeding in the manure & break it up & add to it in the process :) Extra profit, no extra land or resources needed :)
Anyway, enjoy your farming :) I'm really just suggesting the above as something to look at & learn about, but not something you will realisticly have any ability to implement for a very long time, if ever, but you might be able to find smaller methods to improve the land based on that, but overall, just enjoy your new vocation :) It's rare nowadays for people not born on farms to choose to go into farming, you're doing a great service to humanity & don't let those that won't do the work you are going to tell you otherwise!
It's really sad to see these comments full of people not wanting to give up meat because it tastes good and making petty excuses.
again you can eat meat, but don't watch the damn video if all you're going to do is bash people who don't eat meat and say that you're healthier than non meat eaters.
You newer seen what vegans leaves at video about meat while they didnt been mentioned...did you? There is the sadness.
Maxine Caulfield Farm animals was made to be eaten. We made them from there far ancestors. That's why they call farm because they not wild.
JOIN US! or we will eat you.
oh shit we can't do that.
lmao, i have already joined u starting today. (After i eat the taco bell my mama just bought....)
Already was vegan
JOIN US! OR WE'LL EAT ALL YOUR VEGGIES!!
Oh shit kids would love that
Sersomeone ikr
Sersomeone 600th Like! Oh...That was a funny comment.
I'm vegan for a month and got rid of all my acne
jordan pinkette bcoz non veg food produces more heat in your body.....
And digestion is also not as good as vegetarian diet
S C you have knowledge on ayurveda?
jordan pinkette no😀
But i "may" help you if i know something you want to know
Non-veg food makes us more violent "compared" to eating veg food.... I follow jainism and i am an Indian... U from USA?
I'm from a community in India who practices vegetarianism over 1500 years as per written records. It's been 2 yrs I live out of India and happy to share that I didn't compromise on my beliefs and able to maintain my food habits with out consuming even egg. (Egg is not considered as part of vegetarian diet in India even though it is getting increasingly popular among vegetarians)
People will probably be killing the vegetarians in the comments.
if you are a vegetarian that is be hated on, don't let them get to you okay? your'e amazing :)
Oh thanks I really needed that😂
The hate actually comes from envy that we cannot control our appetite for meat like our vegetarian friends.
If they don't brag about if we don't
The Temmie Commenter it is.
:)
If the whole world went vegetarian, we would still use land in order to produce dairy products so not all land would clear up. You should do a video about what would happen if the world went vegan
Jenny Isidro short answer; good stuff.
Jenny Isidro that's never gonna happen
RV it could happen in the distant future, out of necessity such as lack of resources, or the eventual advocacy of animal rights. Maybe not 100% of people vegan but it might become the norm rather than the exception.
Jake Glenn also consider that animal agriculture is responsible for around 51% of climate change.
So many people would be jobless
I eat mostly plant based (I only eat chicken because my school doesn’t have healthy vegetarian options unless I want to eat rotten salad)
Amanda :D Stop making excuses for yourself and pack your lunch.
Schools should provide those options. either complain or sort it yourself
That’s ridiculous.
okay... mis-placed hostility, sweetheart. Schools are meant to provide vegetarian options, so he can complain, or sort it out himself... as I said.
_A_ Lol, Ok ..sweetheart. I don’t think schools are “meant” for providing lunches for vegetarians.
I've drastically reduced the consumption of diary products over time and it seems that a vegan lifestyle is not as bad as it once appeared.
well I am going vegetarian
Me too...
well you do you, but screw that
Good, I always want to but since I'm only 12 my parents are afraid I don't have enough protein and nutrients.
Martha Hung i’m 13 in less than a week and I went veggie months ago there are sooo many different sources of protein other than meat. It’s a lot better for the environment and the animals
Laura Xx I’m convincing them
I just went to a camp and they prepared lots of vegetarian food, and I realised I liked them. I am telling my mom I love animals and want to protect them. And I told her I will survive being a vegan or vegetarian since vegetarian/vegan food are the best - healthy, hearty, animal-cruelty-free
Being a vegetarian is surprisingly easy, and even though I used to love meat, I don't miss meat at all.
Sadie MaeSparkle Same there
I agree being a vegetarian and when I was 1-4 years of life I loved meat but then my parents stopped eating meat so did I don't even remember what meat taste like except the veggie "meats" and there is really good fake bacon two so it isn't that bad sometimes people look at me crazy or try to make me eat meat when I smell it I gag because I dislike the smell just of meat after I say I half to go to the bathroom cause people like that I try to avoid but it's fine it's a small trade off if your up to it.
Sadie MaeSparkle how did you do it? I'm 16 and I live with meat lovers lol but I am trying! Like I would go without meat for a week and my evil mom would go and make tacos (my favorite)😭
Next stop: vegan!
I'm vegan and agree,I miss nothing
Personally, my family is vegetarian simply because of the health benefits. I can see why people like meat (hell, turkey was the shit before I went back to being a vegetarian), but it's just not for me. This video is pretty factual, and I do like the idea that we all don't have to go vegan/vegetarian: we just need to cut back on our meat consumption :)
Respect to vegetarians who do it for health benefits. For the animals though? Green-ness? Forget it.
Is it just me who seriosuly laughs so hard when vegans/vegetarians are arguing?
yes
+Guy no
+GennyQuest
They argue?
+GennyQuest yes
+GennyQuest It's quite funny. :D Vegans try to prove they are of Divine origins, being holier and better than all of the pathetic human beings :D Hilarious
It's not about the killing of animals. It's about what we put them through before slaughter.
Ya know what "organic" means?
Agreed. Seen some pretty horrible videos of dairy farms in New Zealand. Organic farming must be encouraged where animals can at least live with some dignity before they are slaughtered.
Independent farms that treat their animals properly do exist.
you are everywhere
My reason is for how much steroids and other stuff they give the animals , it’s he circle of life so eating / killing them is not my issue it’s the health risks , aspecially with how much meat we eat now
Ok so lots of people are farmers and depend on animal agriculture, but a lot of people also used to be slave owners and depend on slave labor for a living, so that's a poor excuse for keeping animal agriculture around
Uhh... it's 2016. What are you on about with this slavery stuff?
You're comparing HUMAN slave labor to animals? ...OK. There are plenty of ranches, where I'm from, where the cattle are pampered and roam for miles. There are two sides to every coin and unfortunately everyone says 'factory farming' every time this subject comes up. There are people who still care about their animals, trust me.
+PokestarTheZylar To feed the world's CURRENT demand of meat, dairy, and eggs on these "pasture-raised" " nice farms", we would need all the land of 6 or more planet Earth's...
Just to feed the US's demand for beef and dairy, not any other animals, we would have to turn all of the US, Mexico, Southern Canada, and Northern South America.

Vicki is saying that a huge majority of people who once relied on slave labour found new jobs without slowing down the economy or creating unemployment, which therefore means it can be done once again.
+vicki morrison better excuse: we top of food chain.
I used to be a vegetarian for about 15 years and it was one of the worst decision of my life, now I am a happy vegan.
I'm vegetarian...
And all other vegetation I love you
♡♡♡
Y'all are crazy💯💯
+Dante Miles save a plant eat a vegan
thanks fam
+Dante Miles Thank you
I've been eating vegetarians for about 6 years now and I feel GREAT!! I have so much more energy!
Cool.
nathan bolinger Good to know that cannibalism has gotten more popular around here!
Hahahah! What a funny and original comment that hasn’t been a running joke for decades now and that no one has ever heard or posted on this specific video before!
Well eating people is a crime but hey you do you.
Kalle Scope god I hate these people. When a person tries to have fun and then ppl are like “ALALKWKWKA WOW HOW FUN AND ORIGIONAL NOT IM SO STUPID I THINK MEMES ARE HELL BANANAKOW” gawd just let ppl have fun
I've been vegetarian for a year. It is the best choice I've ever made
u sure? i bet u need help picking up a paper!
@XROM GAMING vegetables and fruit lack protein
Everyone else literally say the same bs 😂
what proteins ? when lot of body builders, martial artists, athletes are vegetarian..
