Smart to expand and improve canals as alternative to other transportation. I am sure people will enjoy riding these and make sure they are safe with all safety measures for passengers.
When the boat ride along Khlong San Sap was introduced more than 2 decades ago, people patronized the service due to necessity as it was the fastest route to the center of the city from a suburb. They had to brace the blackish/smelly canal. Over the years, BMA gradually cleaned up the canal and convinced community along the canal not to dumb waste into it. At present, the canal is much better but still not as clean as other canals in inner Bangkok.
Didnt know they want to expand the boat routes. This is an excellent idea for transport and since this route can reach don mueng airport this would be great. Once the gov approves the plan then they will cleanup the cannals so all and all a great idea 👍🏻
Thank you so much for sharing your new discoveries and information! It´s so heart warming to see how friendly and hospitable the locals are. I love Bangkok but I´m not so heat resistant like you so I always come over at the end of the year. Cheers!
I always enjoy the Khlong videos, riding the Saen Saep was one of our favourite memories. I look forward to being able to explore further away on the Khlong Lat Phrao.
Thanks Jeroen! Always good seeing you. Funny that, I was just thinking a few days ago that you haven’t taken your bicycle along your favorite Khlong Saen Saep in awhile. Then this video appeared! Nice.
Hi there! This off-the-tourist path urban exploring angle showing culture and infraestructure is very interesting. Very good video, like the ones you made about the evolution of the works at Chong Nonsi. Best wishes from Austria
Nice video. I only hope the new lines are not run by electric boats as they are so sloooooooowwwww.... as you can see on the line from Wat Sribunreung to Minburi.(or from Hualamphong to Thewet). For commuting daily I don't thing they would be practic. And also their capacity is quite low. The Diesel boats are fast and reliable, but they damage the banks amd the foot pathes along the canal. Used to live close to canal Saen Saep (Thonglor). There must be done something about it. Altogether a good idea, but with some flaws. Also the boats should run later in the evening.
7 new khlong public transport boats will take so much traffic of the streets and also adding value to the neighborhoods as public transport always incourages investment
Connecting Ramkamhaeng and Lat Phrao canals would be a great option for those on a very tight budget and who can't afford the Yellow Line fare. The sooner, the better.
Went from MinBuri market to Asok pier recently. The electric boats are quite slow. No problem for me & had to change at some point twice. Bangkapi the boats are faster toward Asok pier/Pratunam.
What canal trip do you recommend for a 2 hr ride up an down from somewhere central Bangkok ? Have been so many times in Bangkok but never went on the klongs.
How about a trip to The Mall Bangkapi? Jeroen has posted some videos about it too (using both the Khlong boat, and also with his bicycle). Another one that comes to mind is from Hua Lamphong to Thiwarat Market pier. Alternatively, a much shorter journey would be to Wat Saket (Phan Fa Lilat Pier - terminus). There are a handful of videos on this too. Enjoy your ride!
Nice video. Do you have any idea what is going on with the 'island' between Phrakhanong and On nut BTS stations. They are dropping hundreds if not thousands of 40 foot pylons into the canal to make footpaths ?
Thanks Jerome for sharing another interesting journey. On a separate point, Im wondering if you can give ame recommendation for a Bangkok visa company you may have used. I know there are many to choose from and their fees vary, just interested in your thoughts.

It was so good to travel using those regular boats on Saen Saep canal! I'm looking forward to try this new route next time.
Always finding new areas & things to do in BKK. Hope to be back in December & get out & explore.
Always enjoy watching jereon,,,peace and happiness 😊😊😊😊

Excellent vlog Jeroen. Thanks for the update 👍🏼😀
Are you serious??? This is so cool. Looks like I’ll have to return back from Isaan just to check this out!

You've been around my place again. 😂 I use San saeb boat every day to work.

Nice solours, nice views. Didn't know that so many roosters are to be heared in Bangkok.
Thank you for the latest info.
Very informative & interesting content 👍
Thanks. That is really new to me.
Near me the L Phrao yellow. Thanks for this 🙏 canal boat information 🚤
I bet you waited a long time for that shot of the train!
I was actually lucky Mark, not that long. Haha.
I hope this becomes a reality!
Love it❤❤❤
Yeah
Khun Sam seems to be an interesting person. Did you know about him before?
Do you have a map where the new lines are planned?

Super

@@banjemine4150 thanks, the first 2 look very interesting, will try them out in November.
Bro how is the weather we are arriving on 12 oct please let me know about the weather
Great video! Many thanks. When the new boat service starts to Don Muang, will it take people all the way to that airport?
I don't think it connects to the Airport. The Canal runs East of the Airport and the main entrance is West.
❤
This was my bike commute route 1:37
Nice video.

It would be awesome if the boats were electric and quiet
What camera u use pls ?
S24 Ultra

hopefully they'll continue to remove the squatter houses and improve the bike path at the same time
It would be great if Thailand could partner with the Japanese firms who are developing hydrogen engines, so the boats could be powerful but silent.

Wow that was so good, all the background information, and of course the way you did, showing the undiscovered Bangkok😊👍🏼🇹🇭🫶🏻
