I bet everyone now remembers the Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup video game on PS2, XBOX, GC, and GBA from 2 decades ago
I got the game for the original Xbox I still have this day

I used to play it on my ps2 but I think people who are 1990s kids would still remember the game after the release of ps3 I think most kids who were born after that wouldn't remember the game very well.
This new game especially looks like a remake of that game. Definitely looking forward to it overall.

Lol. This game doesn't hold a candle to the original Quidditch World Cup, aside from having nicer graphics. It's will be packed with microtransactions and a paid battlepass system. Will have always online requirement despite having a solo mode. Plus, you can't control the entire team, and from what I've seen, there aren't even any team special moves and individual ones. Looks like a soulless modern version compared to the original game.
You wrote this like the game from 2003 was perfect. I love the old game, and I still play it sometimes but it has many gameplay problems. An updated version doesn’t mean it will be the same thing. I just hope to have better gameplay and more teams

Well, I don't know anything about the gameplay, none of us do (except those who managed to play test it).
But we do already know that the game won't be "full of microtransactions". The game is going to be free on PS Plus and they've said there's no microtransactions in the game.

So, about that Single-Player Career Mode:
Is it going to be an actual story campaign about being a Quidditch player in the Wizarding World and getting roped into a narrative where you and your team have to deal with some plot of corruption within the sports community, or is it going to be just like a regular sports game career mode?
When I played the beta it was a team based pvp I think 5v5 if I’m not mistaken but man this game was fun lol I’ve been checking for updates regularly and I’m glad it’s finally coming out. This game has some real sweats in it and I’m one myself lmao
World Cup better be a big expansion for this. The OG was a brilliant, if easy, game.

I dont know if its a us thing but most of us gamers in the uk have wanted a modern quiditch game since world cup and i personally think it could be a new fifa type of yearly sport game wnd besides from it being cartoony it seams to play exactly like quidditch world cup which is great and i dont know but i personally love the nod to the coloured rings to get to the snitch again

Pretty skeptical that the core gameplay loop is going to be exciting enough to keep this game viable. Is it really going to be fun to play seeker and do nothing but look around for 20 minutes or however long a game lasts? Or maybe they've compressed the positions so it's not traditional rules or positions like 7v7 in the books? It's also a little rough to be working hard scoring with the quaffle all game only to lose because you didn't get the snitch.
It'll prob work like the first game.
