you still have to prep before you add PoolRX i.e. clean filters, add shock and THEN add to your pump basket. It works.

      Hmm…. Thanks! I’ll try that

It's crazy. I was very skeptical about poolrx. In May, I cleaned my de filter. I added the poolrx. Zero algae. Cut my chlorine use by 75%. The pool is super clean. Product absolutely works.👍

Do you even check chemicals or keep things in balance? Your pool looks like you don’t even take care of it or maintain it

That is Not the Skimmer basket. That is the Pump Basket. The Skimmer basket is the basket that is on the sides of your pool. They are completely different. The pressure and turbulence in that pump basket is extremely powerful compared to the actual skimmer baskets. You will wear down/use the minerals a lot faster when it is in that basket.
Also, as stated in the comments, you need to follow the directions on the package of the PoolRx product.

      No you won't.
It goes directly into the pool filter and then gets blown out all around your pool.

You have to prep the pool is correct with pool RX I think next time you need to read the directions. You need to clean your filters first clean the algae out and then it will keep the algae away I use this product and so far so good. It saves me for more algae coming in

Clean and shock pool. Balance chemicals to proper levels. Add pool RX. I used to have algae issues causing me to add a lot of shock each week. After using pool RX, I add 1 bag of shock per week to my 25000 gallon pool with zero algae. I have used pool rx for 3 seasons now, replacing the RX unit each opening season. It works great.

Do you just leave the unit in the basket all the time? I’ve been trying to find an answer to this. I’m confused if I’m supposed to leave it in for 3-4 hours, then my pools good for a week or so, and then drop it in again every week or so. Or do I leave in all the time.

Leave it in the pump basket all season or up to 6 months. Do not backwash for 2 weeks after initially dropping it in the basket. Do not drain your pool. I use mine for 4 months, close the pool, put a new one in each opening season. Pool RX is money well spent. Be sure to get the right size unit for your size of pool.

My pool turned green. I shocked it 2 days in a row. Backwashed, cleaned all the skimmer baskets and then put in the poolrx. Still have a green pool

That’s the pump basket not the skimmer basket.

    WAUT WAIT WAIT.......READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
    1. BACK FLUSH POOL
    2. AFTER BACK FLUSHING, SET THE POOLRX INTO THE PUMP BASKET, AND WITH 3 -4 HOURS LEFT IN THE RUN CYCLE
IT DISPURSES BETTER INTO THE FILTER AND THEN RETURNS THE CHEMICALS INTO YOUR ENTIRE POOL.
    3. POOL SHOULD RUN CYCLES AT LEAST 6-8 HOURS OR MORE IN HIGHER TEMPERATURES.
    4. DO NOT BACK FLUSH FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS, or you'll loose the chemicals faster.
I've used it for maybe 14 years, and I have a 36k gallon pool.
I normally use the larger pool rx for my size.
I'm in the valley of the sun. Even with TEMPERATURES AND RAIN of the summer, mine works all year.
I have always used it in my skimmer basket, not the pump basket.
That too has worked great, ALL YEAR.
However, I made a bid on the smaller poolrx size on a online auction house.
I think I won it for less than $40 dollars.
Since this one is for a smaller pool, I am going to put it into the PUMP filter.
SERIOUSLY WAY CHEAPER THAN CHLORINE AND ACID YOU WOULD USE FOR THE YEAR.
BONUS BEAUTIFUL BLUE POOL ALL YEAR TOO!

    You needed to:
    1. Test water
    2. Use a phosphate remover (phosphates are the sole food of algae)
    3. Shock the heck out of your pool
    4. Wait three days
    5. Backwash your filter to dump the dead algae
    6. Replace half the DE if that’s your filter medium
    7. Add phosphate remover again plus shock
    8. Wait three days and retest water
    9. Balance your chemistry
    10. If all is good then you use Pool RX to prevent algae

I was having a weekly yellow algae problem. I was spending $10-20 a week on sanitizer. Now my free chlorine levels are between 0.5 - 1 ppm and because of the PoolRx I have crystal clear water. It’s an amazing product. Just test weekly and keep your chemistry in order.

Thats not your skimmer, you put it in your pool pump.

As I understand it, the mineral cartridge is supposed to go into the pump basket. That's where I always place it, but am curious how effective it really is. I still add shock but only 2 or 3 times a month and my water is always clear and swim-able. Is that because my system is efficient or because I use this PoolRX cartridge?

It worked for my pool. You probably haven't got any chlorine in there or your filter is no good.
