    With age comes wisdom as they say so it must follow that with youth comes folly.
    The nature of the world is duality and this is wholly evident so as much as I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment expressed in another wonderful video the sad reality is that half the planet won't agree.
    I'm in my early 60's and I see many of my generation 'enjoying' the fruits of their labours regardless of the impact their actions have on others. Today, in England, with the relaxation of 'lockdown' restrictions the non-essential shops are reportedly being overwhelmed with the pent up demand from those whose existence/happiness depends on the materialism of the external world - many of these are 'youthful' and consider themselves fortunate to be employed in order that they can spend what they earn persuaded by the media bombardment and conditioning.
    As someone who for a quarter of my life has been studying the esoteric I am confident that this out-dated world is going to disappear soon and thus those surviving the transformation will have no option but to live simply.
    For half of my existence I was a travel agent who got to experience some of what this beautiful planet has to offer and what I can say is that those with the least had the most to offer to others whilst the opposite is also true.

    Begin the simplicity inward and let it mesh deeply enough to have inner contentment that is felt by others and so they will want an inner this also.

    Excellent video and thoughts. One way to find simplicity is Sabbath, or ceasing from getting and gaining. Sabbath rest refreshes, restores and reminds us to stop and enjoy the moments, not the things we feel we must have.

    Excellent video, just added it to my facebook page. I study the Seth series of books by Jane Roberts. I just read this sentence on the book 'The Unknown Reality' which is relevant as we can overcome it "Acquisition of fashionable homes, and material possessions are often considered as Medals of ability"..

    • @SofoArchon
      @SofoArchon  3 роки тому

      Yes, small steps in the right direction can eventually make a big difference.
      Having said that, we as humanity need to urgently move toward simplicity. Otherwise, we'll be causing way more damage to the planet than we've already done, and I don't see our civilization surviving for much longer.

      Because of the inner emptiness that many of us feel, we want to fill it in with external objects - but they are never enough to satisfy us, for they aren't what we deep down want.

    I agree that we need to leave simply, but the idea that if some people are wealthy that other people will automatically be poor is bogus. That's not how the world works. That's a socialist idea.

    • @SofoArchon
      @SofoArchon  3 роки тому +1

      The world has limited resources, so unless they are shared fairly, there will inevitably be wealth imbalance in society. To give you a simple analogy, imagine four individuals having a pizza comprised of 8 slices and one of them takes four slices of it. Will the other four individuals not have fewer slices to enjoy? You might call this a socialist idea, but it's simple arithmetic.

    • @language-n-learning
      @language-n-learning 3 роки тому

      @@SofoArchon Thank you for the reply, Sofo. If you are talking about an isolated meal with one pizza, 4 people, and a limited amount of money for that occasion, yes there are limitations. But the resources that go into making a pizza (grain, dairy, vegetables, meat, etc.) are all renewable. Furthermore, just because you have a pizza, doesn't mean that I can't order one too. Perhaps you are confusing the control of resources with the limitation of resources. Have you ever seen the movie, "Blood Diamond"? The diamond industry keeps lots, maybe most, of diamonds off the market to make them scare and thus more costly. And when food and other resources are sent to poor countries, those things are often controlled by the governments that are supposed to help the people. But that doesn't mean resources are limited in nature. They are just controlled by people in positions of power. Cheers.

    • @SofoArchon
      @SofoArchon  3 роки тому +1

      Jeff, thank you also for taking the time to engage in this conversation, but I think you're missing the point. I'll give you another analogy to illustrate my point. Imagine you're isolated on a small island where you have to coexist with 9 other people. On that island, there's enough food for everyone, but because a couple of you consume 90% or more of the food generated, a couple of others end up starving. Yes, the resources might be renewable, but still not enough is left for everyone - not because the resources are not themselves enough, but because of the way those resources are distributed/consumed. Does this make sense to you?
