Harrison: Scott Arniel did very well in Bowness' absence. I think Arniel learned a lot about defensive structure from Bowness, so he has that. But in addition, Arniel seems like the kind of guy that isn't afraid to experiment when things aren't currently working, and doesn't seem stuck in his ways. It was Arniel I believe that gave Perfetti more ice time, and I believe that Arniel was happy with Ehlers on the top line with Scheifele and Vilardi i believe. Since he already has lots of familiarity with the team, and while he was assistant, had probably spent a lot of up time thinking of ideas that could work, it only makes sense to give him a shot.

Bruce's stint with the Canucks made me a little wary, but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
