Hello! I heard from new students python is used in the first year, but during my time as a first year for software it was C# so fontys might alternate between those two
Yes it is possible but the amount of hours you can work will be small and the process to get a job for international can be a bit tricky But yes it is possible to get a job
Hi Mikoko! I hope all is going well. I'll be going to Fontys this September to study IEM and was wondering-this might be a stupid question, but are there classes on Saturday? because the Holiday calendar shows Saturdays on the schedule.
How heavy is the math portion in the ICT curriculum? Is there any discrete math, linear algebra, or physics? Do you even have to be good at math to pass the programme?
Hello Frankyee, well the math portion at fontys is little to none basically I haven't done any proper maths at Fontys only math related task I have done (Learning how to perform mathematical operations on binary numbers) Fontys is an applied university, so they don't dwell on theoretical work, mainly practical so your study period at fontys will be alot of programming and development Actually talking to clients and dealing with companies
HEYY you are absolutely correct our grades are based on project accomplishments especially for your semester's 3 till your final semester In semester 1 and 2 you might have a couple of exams here and there like I did during my first year in 2020 but after those semester's no more exams just pure projects
I can't remember what documents properly But the documents I provided were my Waec result Diploma Proof of funds which had to be over 10k euros I think A motivation letter
Yoo hello lad Yeah i would say its a good university, For me it has done the job education wise I personally like an environement where i can create things and fontys provdied that environment for me sicne they focus mainly on projects instead of exams that is my main take away from fontys tbh
Hi sir, I want to choose ICT& Software Engineering as my main profile. Is it interesting and I want a course which is more based on coding, so does software engineering offers that?
Definitely it's a really interesting course lad And if you are choosing ICT and software at fontys then you definitely will have a big amount of coding and project based work
Nice video 👍🏽 how much is the tuition for ICT And how did you pay tuition from Nigeria? Also is IELTS required for nigerians? Applying for February intake🙏🏾
- about 10,800 euros for international students - a bank from Nigeria not sure which one converts the naira to euros and then sends it directly to fontys - technically no, ielts is not needed, but you have to get a good grade on english in your waec, I had a B2 or so I wish you luck mate applying for the February intake 💃 Quick tip during the interview BE YOURSELF and SHOW GENINUE ENTHUSIAM TO JOIN
Great video! Do you possibly know anyone studying mechanical engineering? I am interested in studying it next year on Fontys so if you could connect me with someone who is already studying it, it would be great :)
hi thank you for the video, is python used in the 1st year ?
Hello! I heard from new students python is used in the first year, but during my time as a first year for software it was C# so fontys might alternate between those two

@@Frenk33 it's no problem😊
Do you have exams on each subject every semester? I heard that the grade at applied science uni is based on project accmplishment, not exam

How much of maths do you do?
At fontys during my semesters we didn't do any math
Currently in semester 6 and still no math
Since fontys is an applied university they mainly focus on teach actual development
Thank you for reply. How about internship? Did you do any? And if yes, we’re you paid ?
Yeahh in your 5th semester you have to get an internship and I got paid for mine
Although not every internship pays tho
What documents are needed for the diploma check ...coming from Nigeria
I can't remember what documents properly
But the documents I provided were my
Waec result
Diploma
Proof of funds which had to be over 10k euros I think
A motivation letter
I already sent my motivation letter , do I still need to carry it ?...
And I was asked for my final grade list but I don't know what that is
From my understanding your final grade list is your WAEC result
And then I didn't bring along my motivation letter after I sent it to Fontys
@@mikoko2192 thanks
So just met up with a new Nigerian he says you have to bring along your diploma and final waec results
