Just my opinion, but i think the follow-up should be a cover of "Friends Never Say Goodbye" from El Dorado. Also it needs to be a duet with Caleb (and maybe even some others you've teamed up with). It symbolizes you both so well.

@@jonathanymusic I think what would be a good cover for you to try is for the Musical "Hadestown," it is a Play by Anias Mitchell, with how you mentioned liking Jazz/Rock songs better it might be something you actually enjoy too, the song I wanted specifically was "When the Chips Are Down," in a different style maybe more Johnny Cash.
El Dorado has always been a goated movie, its soundtrack even better. This cover is pure GOLD!
And the fact that Elton John did the whole soundtrack is even more amazing!

They did do most of the songs, from the top of my head, just not all of them metal covers (some are in pop, punk or rock styles, from quite a way back). However, seeing a full metal workover of all those songs in Jonathan's (new-ish) style would definitely be interested.
Since I was a child, every time I hear "El Dorado, the magnificent, and golden", I get the chills.
I feel the same way but as a child I'm not sure I could always pars the lyrics. Never the less it really does convey the imagery so well it is hard to describe. It just says from the singers perspective that there's *nothing* in the world that could possibly be as beautiful or safe and happy as this city. It makes me want to live there. A bit like the elves song in the Hobbit, you know, come fallah lalley come back to the valley, here grass is still growing, leaves are yet swinging, the white water flowing and elves are yet singing etc, sort of thing. It's a place that is as much a part of the community as the people that live there and has been carefully tended possibly for multiple generations to reach its current state.
El Dorado was my younger brother’s favourite movie. He passed away 20 years ago this year. We played “The Trail We Blaze” at his funeral, and “Someday Out Of The Blue” always hit different. Wonderful cover! Thank you.

Road to El Dorado was one of Jonathan's first covers on the channel. It's really cool to see him revisit it though because you can listen to both and really hear how he's improved over the past 7 years.

The best animated film ever!!! I grew up laughing and crying with this, to the point that I still know many lines by heart. Another underrated classic. The next generations will adore it.

First of all, WOW this is amazing. I saw this movie as a kid, and it’s making me tear up a little rn. Saw it with mum in the theater, as a “congrats” for deciding to get baptized that day. Thanks mum for taking me to see such a beautiful movie. I miss her so much.

Haven't gotten goosebumps from a song in a long time. Love this movie and song, you guys absolutely killed it.
One of the more interesting things about this movie is they were having trouble animating the water the way they wanted in this movie. So the software they used to create the water effects (waves and splashing) was built from the ground up. Water had never been animated in this way in any movie before El Dorado. This was the first movie to use that software and many other movies were made afterwards using that same software.
I love the re-release covers, to hear how everything has evolved 💜

I cried listening to this, omg the memory dump I got. Listening to your first El Dorado with my siblings, and all of us subscribing to you all those years ago. Compared to the first time you did it, you can tell the group and this one just feels like the end of a movie that is your journey.
