Under the hood is a 2.0L inline-4 that produces 147 HP & is mated to a CVT transmission. It's exterior is spot on Kia Forte GT. I literally just bought a white Forte GT Line last week and I am loving it. The car was listed at $22k with the premium package, but there was a $3k rebate that the dealership gave me, making the car an absolute bargain! I also notice that I'm getting better MPG than what it's rated, I'm getting 36mpg combined and have gotten 43mpg on the highway recently. Loving it! HUGE improvement over the Ford that I traded in.
Sweet. Is it true the exhaustion sounds amazing like a sports car? Or is that for the GT model.
@@MrMelvin20 The GT is definitely the one with a throaty sports exhaust, which is crazy to see from a stock vehicle. The GT Line doesn't sound bad, and if you keep it in Sport Mode it'll be more rev happy and hang around 2500RPMs but it will not sound like the GT exhaust.
Just got my white 2021 GT with the GT2 package. Love the exhaust and the goodies it comes with. 😁

@@thundergato84 I traded in a Ford Focus for the Forte GT Line and it has been great. I'm getting great MPG and if you put the car in sport mode it holds the revs longer and makes it more fun despite the 147 HP.

@@thundergato84 In normal mode the acceleration is OK, the car feels "heavier" than it does in Sport Mode. This is probably because in Normal Mode the car always instantly dips the RPMs back to 1500 the very second you release the throttle. Even if you rev up to 7000 RPMs and release the throttle it will instantly be back at 1500 in Normal Mode. In Sport Mode, the car holds your revs, so if you get to 7000 RPMs and release the throttle it will slowly decline in revs, and in general, Sport Mode likes to hold the revs at 2500 almost all the time, so it's rare for it to dip to 1500 unless coming to a stop. So, since Sport Mode keeps the revs longer and prefers 2500 over 1500, the vehicle feels peppier than if you drive in Normal Mode. You will notice slightly less MPGs though in Sport Mode (like 1-2 less) but those higher revs that are held longer make the vehicle more fun, especially on the interstate.

Just got a GT Line and love it . Love having a sun roof . Excellent styling overall . And my 25 mile commute into work averaged 38.6 mpg without taking the toll road . 147 h.p. Coupled with a six speed automatic transmission makes the car hook up nice and is really responsive.
I have had it on the the highway and to my surprise one day I got 41.6 mpg which is higher then the 40 mpg highway the car was rated at . I did have the cruise control set . Really liked and enjoyed the video . Thank you . I think Kia hit a home run and knocked it out of the ball park with this one . My wife loves the car as well .
Wifey got her fire orange w premium package 9 months ago, her dad just scored a 2021 blue w/o the package, they both love it, serious bang for the buck.
Went from a 2015 Chevy Colorado to a 2018 Sierra and traded that for a Kia Forte gt line in deep sea blue cause I needed something more effective for commute and driving a truck everyday wasn’t fun. Absolutely love this car Kia did an awesome job with the gt line and gt

I got mine 3 weeks ago. Wanted the GT. Got mine in Fire Orange w/sun roof. GOT the 8 speaker k/h with sub woofer and all the bells available with the GT Line. Turn heads. If you need a daily driver and cannot drive the GT the way it's meant to be driven? You will NOT be disappointed.

This car is perfect if you care more about mpgs than performance. The engine is great on gas and is fast enough for everyday driving. How often do you actually need to go from 0 to 60 in six seconds in real world driving. With all the features especially with the package makes this one of the best deals in this class

Yes, I agree that a Kia Forte is a great car for new buyers. A fully loaded EX Launch Edition has all of the features of Honda Civic Touring for lower cost.
However, a Kia Forte does not retain value well. For ex: my 2019 Forte EX Launch Edition was appraised at average $17,500 by KBB and Black Book, however 2 traditional dealerships and CarMax low balled me by $3,000-$5,000. Months later, at 14,000 miles, my Kia is estimated to be around $14,850. my wife's 3 yr Honda Civic 35,000 miles values around $12,000.
Bottom line: Get Kia Forte if you plan to keep it for 10 years or until it dies. Get a Honda Civic EX if you plan to trade later on to get more appraisal value.

This is an excellent point. I've made a similar calculus between a Honda Civic Si and the Hyundai Elantra Sport / Kia Forte GT.
@Steve Jones I do not like my Forte for 1 reason, it is incredibly slow; 0-60 takes close to 9 seconds.
I love my Forte for the other reasons: 1). Incredibly bright headlights and fog lights that illuminates everything in the far distance on those pitch black country back roads. 2). Turning radius makes U-turns easy. 3). Harmon Kardon sound system is a huge step up from any base sound system. It is actually a little better than a Bose, but it can't match the Bang & Olufsen in the 2020 Explorer ST. 4). The EX Launch Edition has all of the blind spot, lane change/keep, front collision warning and assistance. 5). Lower insurance cost than a Civic Sport Touring hatchback.
I would recommend others to get a base Forte GT (a bit faster). With some researching, you can find one discounted with all of those safety features.
@@historymjh If you need rear heat/AC vents, the Forte GT has them which the Civic Si doesn't I don't believe.
I would've gotten the Forte GT in the first place, but I needed a car before the Forte GT's arrived at the dealerships.

The dealers around me are selling the both the GT and GT line models. The GT is only 2k more so imo, might as well get the top model. And the GT has 201hp, better looking/bigger wheels, dual exhaust, and sounds better.

Just bought one. LOVE it! There is no manual option though. I love manual too but with this car, I honestly don't miss it all. Great value and I love the interior! Very expensive looking! It has faux leather inside and is very comfortable and roomy! So happy with this car!

@@brandon12792 Hi! I don’t remember the exact sticker price on it, So my math won’t be completely accurate. I’m sure it was around $21,000 sticker price, my payments are about $360+ a month and usually I can split that in half to have it seem more manageable for me at the time! I do have to mention though, my dad’s credit helped with the monthly payments, which is why I’m sure it’s pretty low. I’m not sure about other circumstances! I’m not completely sure on my payment length though! $15,000 is a great price for such an amazing car, I love mine! it’s been treating me well!

We get the Kia Ceed in Europe, which comes in a hatchback or a wagon.
However, Russia and Kazakhstan have both the Ceed and the Forte.
So the Ceed is only for Europe, plus Israel, South Africa and Turkey; the Forte is for other markets outside of Europe except Russia.

I think the Forte GT Line/GT are excellent cars. I wish the GT line had dual exhaust like the GT. I should have Forte GT and a GT 350 by July 2020.
Yeah but the dual exhaust really wouldn't match the 147 hp engine plus they are trying to make an affordable version with the gt line.

Kia cars and trucks are design by Peter Scheyer. He used to design cars for Audi/Volkswagen. Its the reason Kia looks like a cheaper version of Audi cars.

My rental of one for 2 weeks back in May of 2020 while my Touareg was in the shop convinced me to buy one in September 2020. I got the exact same one in this video. Already have 20k on the clock. No issues.
I recently purchased a brand new KIA FORTE GT2. Let me start by saying this is the 6th KIA product that I have owned. I think KIA has made a great product, but has really missed the mark with customer service and the Apple/Android car play. My Forte GT with the 2 package was a brand new car. After 3 days, I had a major electrical issues with my Forte. With only 300 miles on the car, every warning light and safety systems check came on . The lane departure system also started to attempt to steer the car on its own. The dealer had the car flat bedded back to the dealership and provided a loaner. This was greatly appreciated. My calls to Kia customer service were useless. All you get is a KIA representative taking my info and telling me they would get back to me in a few days. The KIA reps only are able to read off a canned script. I would think if you purchased a brand new car and the car was faulty, KIA would go out of their way to make it right. It took KIA factory reps a week to diagnose and replace an electronic control unit. Let's talk about Apple/Android car play. KIA at one time had one of the best interface media and navigation systems on the market. It was extremely fast and easy to use. In order to use Apple/Android Car play you need to have it plugged into a cable in order to project your phone onto the screen and also to make calls. Let me repeat that, Apple car play needs a cable to plug into a usb port in order for it to work. That is absurd. Any car that I have owned you never needed a cable to plug the phone into in order to use bluetooth for voice recognition. Apple car play is an incredible cumbersome system. I find myself having to pull over to use Google maps and to list the destination. Once the mapping is on the screen, any calls you may receive will remove the navigation. If your phone screen saver activates, you lose everything that is on the screen. If texts come in, it is virtually impossible to have them read to you. It is a huge disappointment. How KIA chose this over their old system is beyond me. Obviously a cost cutting measure. Imagine for over 10 years bluetooth never required you to plug a phone into a cable. Every other car I have owned since 2010 I was able to access my phone wirelessly and easily. There is actually an accessory for $159 dollars making the system wireless. How did Apple get their hands into KIA and basically ruined one of the best media systems on the market is beyond me.
The things like about the Forte GT: The interior is well planned. The leather seats are very comfortable. I do love the styling of the car along with the 18 inch wheels. The Forte handles great with the multi link suspension. It has a huge trunk for a compact car. Gas mileage is excellent for mixed driving 34mpg. However, If I knew of how poorly Apple/Android car play works and poor KIA Factory customer service I probably would have passed on the Forte.

Sorry to hear. My KIA dealer experience is 180 degrees opposite. I cant get these folks to leave me alone. Jones for life! LOL. Right off the lot we had electrical gremlin which got fixed with no fuss. I held back my down payment until it was. Turned out to be a bad alternator. Great car. hard to believe I paid 5k more for a Jetta TDI in 2005 than I did this car in 2020.

Two year update. Still loving it! My kid gets his permit (if he passes his test) and will be getting the car. That said, I went to the Kia dealership to possibly check out our next car and walked right out after seeing 4-7k market adjustment charges. Many dealerships in same area do not have that up charge. Very disappointing. That new civic is nice too!

These are a steal. When I was getting my forte gt I saw lots of these gt line with off the lot deals for under 18k and that's a bargain for a daily driver with their warranty.

The Forte GT has a really good Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission with 201hp. Unfortunately, the Forte GT-line has a CVT and 147hp.
Now, Kia hasn’t been known for catastrophic CVT failure or recalls like all Nissan’s, Turbocharged Subaru’s, and some Toyota Corolla’s; however unless you’re lucky like Honda most traditional non-CVT automatic transmissions will last longer than similar CVT offerings.

Raiti - if you look at those flat black plastic interior trim pieces on the door in full sunlight, its appears to have a faux carbon fiber weave pattern.
I tested the Forte a few years back. The deal breakers were the steering, the hard seats, and the radio. But especially the steering. When you turn/change lanes, the steering wheel doesn't come back to center on it's own. It has no tendency to stay centered while not turning. It required much more conscious effort than any other steering. Fatigue inducing. And dangerous in my opinion.

Joe, as much as I like the look of the Mazda 3 I have issues with the torsion beam rear (cost cutting) as well as the lack of support (not too many dealerships). Right now it is a choice between the Toyota Corolla SE or the Kia GT Line. My first auto was a 1972 Toyota Corolla fastback and my last just may be another Corolla. The reliability of the brand is undeniable.

Whoever is wondering what’s the top speed of this car is 123 I tested it out cause I have one for myself and was wondering but yeah it’s a really great car! Better than Honda Civic and the Gt with the turbos are sleepers if you know how to tweak it out 👌🏼

Great video but in the beginning you keep saying automatic transmission. Its not till the end that you say CVT. The cvt is not an automatic trans, its a cvt and theres a major difference. I liked the car and thought about buying it until I heard cvt

These (Kia fortes and some other Kia's) are made in Mexico, Mexican engine, Mexican transmissions, and nearly all Mexican parts since 2017.

You're saying you wouldn't go for the automatic...What you really should tell the people is the 2.0 Atkinson engine is underpowered.
Love this trim but hate the wheels. Would it throw the driving dynamics off if I put the gt 18's on it ?

This GT line one doesn't impress me. I mean, you have all this (except the aesthetics of the seats and GTline logos) + you have heated seat, heated steering wheel, all in the EX. In the EX+ you even have a sunroof.
Nice sporty compact sedan. I wouldn't get this one though because of that CVT. I'd get the turbo model with that 6 speed manual.

I have the 2017 forte s. I might trade mine in and get one these. like the new body style a lot more.
Do it.. the GT Line is GT with daily driver abilities and better handling.
Does it have paddle shifters?
