In this i will not be talking about how to strings specifically, if you want that please comment down below. instead i’m talking about the mindset behind scythe while i display some of my own strings that you can do or help inspire you.
my philosophy on scythe is simple, scythe is apart of you there’s no right or wrong way to play it generally speaking. you have to find what works for you.
use the strings if you like them but also let them inspire you to make your own.
the less amount of people who know your strings the more effective.

A lot of people have asked me on twitter/discord the difference between 1 and 3, so i’ll explain.
Number 1 is not playing for clips, that could be anything. weapon toss gps, insane reads that you’ve practiced, strings you’ve made or anything similar to those funky things. you should be playing compact, punishing properly ect.
Number 3 is more about trying stuff mid match that you’ve seen and can’t actually do (i could of made that more clear in the video) the insane things that people do most of the time are in experimental and if it’s in ranked then it’s by chance and they just happened to get the opportunity to do it, especially when you reach higher levels of play.
side note: don’t confuse me saying what not to do with, what you should be doing. i firmly believe that you don’t need to play a certain way to win, however, i would be lying if i said there are somethings that could prevent u from climbing higher in elo.

That last sentence kinda messing with me, you basically said „you don’t need to play a certain way, HOWEVER, you don’t need to play a certain way“
what i’m saying is there are no “rules” or “absolutes” when it comes to how to pay brawlhalla and be good at the game. you can have any play style you can do any type of reads or gimps you want and be good but there’s a difference between just being good and climbing up in elo based on what you actually do. so there’s no correct way to play but there are things you might be doing that are stopping that person from ranking up.
@@Everythingscythe Yes I got that, but what I meant was you saying exactly that, then continue the sentence with „however“ as if you’d bring something in to debunk the proposed theory, but then you say the same thing again. So the structure is just really weird

i was just emphasising the point that damage is the goal and not getting gimps or cool reads. if you don’t like the video i respect that and appreciate the feedback but don’t quote me and act as if it was a stupid thing to say when it was logical and was a part of a greater point.
@@Everythingscythe Im not trying to make you seem stupid, Im very well aware that this does go to lead into something bigger, and I know that most Ranked-Mindset-Videos or whatever you call em mostly bring over the same point with sentences like these, that are blatantly obvious, yet people focus more on other stuff. But in general, this is pretty funny to hear BECAUSE it’s so blatantly obvious. The racing game thing was just me trying to make a lil joke from it

@@zoey8977 it’s fine imo, i put strings that actual use so people can use them or create their own from and then i basically gave a pep talk. nothing spectacular but enough to guide them in their scythe journey ill do a follow up soon

ngl, this just proves that even if you dropped a scythe string off stage, theres still options such as: nair, dair and gc dlight. It's never too late to continue the string

I bearly play scythe but i did a sick 0 - death string with volkov just by making quick decisions.
that’s exactly how it should be, in the moment quick decisions based on openings. not some ten step 300iq plan that you’ve been trying to hit for 7 matches straight

This helps a lot because as someone who’s mental while playing scythe is really bad (I barley just hit plat with scythe and I think I’m genuinely a better gauntlets/orb/blasters player) but this helps a lot when I’m not really thinking of clips my scythe is crazy the second I think of some stupid or unreasonable combo my mental goes to shit and I don’t accomplish anything
That’s literally how I used to be, I’d be dragging someone’s wig with scythe and then get cocky and start trying to get clips or play they sloppy and then get clapped by the stupidest things. You have to find your own balance
Great video love it 💯 and I'm Glad you said "don't go for clips" can't tell you how many people are doing this long combo and I just groundpound them cause they exhausted all of their jumps and I make it back safely lol
that’s the best punish for those long drawn out combos😂 in all serious getting clips is good and it’s cool but there’s a difference between getting a clip and going for a clip. when you focus on getting clips you get sloppy, you aren’t even looking at the opponent you’re just fixated on getting some gimp or read. it’s the worst way to play if you actually wanna do wellz

there’s so many times i see people just doing the absolute most with scythe and i’m like “just kill him man” and then they end up losing the match because instead of just winning they gotta be cool aswell

What is the difficulty of a string based on? Because to a skilled player these are all easy or slightly harder than easy, but to a new player even the most basic nlight nair rec can be hard, which is why I am asking what do you base the rating on? Nice clips btw as a scythe main I approve xd
I decided to base the difficult on how hard it is to actually get in a match, rank did play apart but for the most part the hard or extreme ones are easy to do for high ranks but they aren’t something that you “just do” in every match if you get what i mean. nlight nair rec for the most part is pretty standard and even if it is hard for new people getting it in a match isn’t all that hard especially in rank where you’re playing people on your tier. but much appreciated for the support, don’t forget to like, sub and share🤝

Hey man i play on keyboard and my setup is to aim and jump in the up arrow, do u think its impossible to play scythe without playing with separated buttons to jump and aim up?
i’m use controller so i’m no expert but i’d say having aim up and jump as the same button would make some of the things i do next to impossible.
for example when i do a reverse nair i hold up and whatever directional button. if up was jump i’d jump obviously and wouldn’t be able to do it. most people i know have separate buttons for every command so i’d advice the same😅

whats the diff between strings and combos?
strings are like combos but they’re made up, they usually aren’t consistent. a combo would be two-three moves that actually go together from the game’s perspective. so like slight, dlight with spear. it’s not a string it’s a two hit move
