She can come to my house for any holiday anytime except I live in Michigan. I hosted every year for my uncle and great aunt who were only 2 years apart in age. I have lost them all now and would have her any day!

Sometimes the hand we’re dealt is read and played wrong. But we must carry on with our hearts open and head held high. She’s a role model for those who are the last ones standing. I lost both of my parents 29 years ago this Christmas. I wish I lived near Josephine. I would “adopt” her as our new mom/grandma. It kills me that she is alone for Christmas! 💔😭
The sad thing is that Josephine ended up being worse off having an overprotective parent. I know someone in a similar situation, parents wanted to keep her at home, now she’s very lonely and her parents have died. Never hold your kids back in life!
Folks that are only childrenaturally think that if you have siblings that you're not alone or lonely. Sadly , it might even be more painful to realize you have siblings that don't get along with you and you are equally as lonely.
Same as my ex. He had a coercively controlling mother who offered to help him with his £30k debt if he and his child moved back to Wales and dumped me. He did both.
Same here...i know I'm missing chances to have a normal life and family like everyone else but what shall i do!..pleasing my parents comes first!...for the same reason as hers!
Josephine, if you read this comment please remember that your advice is going to help many of us who take life on too seriously and care too much about others. God Bless You.
Somebody, please adopt Josie asap. She deserves to feel the love of an entire family. All the kids and grandkids ... everything she didn't get but especially the LOVE. We love you Josephine and you are not alone ... All our hearts are with you. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I am in California so I cannot invite Josie to my home, but in her honor, I will "adopt" a local senior for the holidays (and beyond). Perhaps others could do the same? I have a feeling Josie might like to know the impact she has had around the world.
I had a neighbour who was 94, and she was very fit and cheerful....I asked her what was her secret, and she said..." I don't really know, but I think it is because I never married..."..😊
As an older person, everything she says is true.So many of us are really invisible to others.Sad indictment of our society.God bless you Josephine. You are so brave and smiling, not complaining about the loneliness you feel.
I I’m in Rhode Island, USA. We have a program called “The Village” where folks volunteer to help seniors. We provide rides to appt., wellness checks, visits, small home repairs or tasks, and the like. Look for a way to get active with your local community…volunteer at a senior center, nursing home, hospice, etc. our elders are often the most overlooked population, hungry for companionship. Give a bit of your time. You will be amazed how much you get back.
I'm from across the pond & I know what she is feeling I'm 63 & never married. Not as old as she is but same situation. I wish I could meet her I know I would enjoy her company. I wish her the best & plenty of love from Texas.
What a wonderful lady! Josephine you are not alone anymore. I think everyone who sees this post will love you. You are precious in God’s eyes and I for one will keep you in my prayers!❤❤
She reminds me of myself, when I was younger. I did not really have friends at school and I was very shy, and uninteresting I think. Now that I’m 38, and I don‘t care, people are interested in me. People nowadays are too picky. They have a clear expectation of how the „perfect“ one should be, and they wait, and wait… Listen to Josephine‘s advice! Don‘t ask too much. She has now given us more than we can give back to her, just with a few words. ❤
She is a lovely woman. There are so many wonderful people living alone and often lonely, especially in their senior years. We are an odd society at times. ❤
Dear Josephine…sending love and hugs to you now and especially on Christmas Day 2024! Your smile gave me such a lift! From California an 83 year old lady!
I’d like a friend like Josephine! She’s a sweet woman. It’s nice that you stopped her. Ha, I give people compliments all the time, and they’re not quite sure how to react. I think it makes some people’s day……it’s nice to be noticed. ❤
So glad you both crossed paths. My eye has shed a tear. Much of my adult life, try hard to appreciate the story of the person in front of you! Their storey may be greater or lesser than yours. We all have a story that brought you BOTH to this place. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
She is a wonderful woman! Sad she never married. Her attitude is so good. Hugs to you Josephine!🤗🤗 As an only child, I understand completely. We need to care for our parents, and we fall away. I married young tho, over 40 years now. But the truth is, being part of a family is hard. You’re always the married in person. We have no children. Even with my best friends throughout life, Josephine is spot on. There is only so much people want to give of their lives when they have real family. I spend time alone, without even thinking about others visiting really. I don’t expect invitations. That is how families operate to outsiders, even after years. I have hobbies. Always have had dogs, take long walks. Life is what we make it, and a good attitude, many interests, keep you young at heart. Hope someone sees her video nearby and becomes her family. ❤
