Very useful. Thank you! To add something useful too - if you do it in winter outside, it is almost impossible to push the light housing off the 2 metal pins. The solution - take a heat gun or a hair dryer and heat the light assembly from inside. Then it slides off easily. And you need 10mm socket to do the job.
Wow, so straightforward and easy! So glad I found your video, I had to buckle down and change this brake light myself as my husband never got around to doing it. Now I feel comfortable riding around without a chance of getting pulled over. Thank you so much!
It was very helpful for me to know, after removing the two nuts from inside the cargo compartment, where the two posts were at the end of the tail light assembly. I tried pushing/pulling/rapping the assembly to loosen it, but I couldn't get it to work for me and I didn't want to bust the plastic lens. So I used two long pieces of gaffers tape to pull the light assembly towards me as I stood at the back of the vehicle. It came out within about 10 seconds. Thanks for the video.
I had trouble getting the assembly off. I ended up using a metal debit card to put in the crease of the front and pulled the back part outwards and back and that made it come out from those two pins, took me forever to find a solution. I didn’t feel like going back to the store to try the tape method. I found that the assembly seems to be guled where those Pins are so I think the card helped removing the glue. Brake lights now work!!!!🎉
Thanks for this video, straight to the point. Just want to know, how frequent does the brake light bulb burns out? My car (same model and year) just had drocer side brake light buld replaced 7500 miles ago, and now the passenger side is out....I am like......why does it always dead???
@@AP-ct5nc glued to the car ? I have a brake light out on my 2019 Kia Sorento and I have one out on my Chrysler 300. The 300 was simple the kia needs a 10mm socket .but I hear ppl having trouble getting the assembly off because of those two pins that hold it in

I am blowing brake lights every 8 months. Just found out electric wire harness is shorting.
Mine too, I'm curious if it's happening when I shut my rear gate too hard maybe. I don't have the automatic closing one.

But you touched the new bulb with your bare hands....😱
It's not halogen like a headlight bulb. Perfectly fine.

Went to get the new bulb at O reilys and they gave us the wrong bulb go figure.
Such a stupid design for regular maintenance
Exactly, been in the car business for years, automotive engineers get dumber every year
What about the other side. This is useless
