    I watch everyone of your tutorials that comes out. This is my favorite by far. I have seen you work your magic, and this time I think I can keep up. This is a unique perspective on birch trees. I loved your explanation of how you painted in the shadows and why. I’m looking forward to trying this! Thank you, Michele. 🙏💙🌵

    I've seen masking but how you masked both horizontally AND vertically. Cool effect and the detail for adding naturalism makes a visually attractive difference 🎨

    Great video Michele, and it looks like I'm not the only one who didn't think about perspective and birch tree lines. A great tutorial that can be adapted for any landscape. Thank you 😊❤️

    I watched this tutorial a couple of months ago and drew the trees while traveling. I finally made the time to follow the tutorial and am working on the dark marks on the trees now. I am enjoying the process so much! I love the blending of wet on dry to fill in the background. I am finding that this technique is helping me paint more freely with less detail. I will post on your FB page when I'm finished with the painting. Thank you so much! I really appreciate the details you provide and the "whys" of the process.

    I really would like to try this out. You made a happy forest. I love the colours and I really like the way you made it. About the "trolls" ... just ignore them. Where I worked the policy was that if you have nothing nice to say to a person, ..say nothing. That`s my message to the trolls. Ann from Norway

    Hi Michele, so much info in this tutorial, from using a cool color for shadows to starting off the edge for grass. Birch trees are one of my favorite trees and I've have been very intimidated to try to paint one that wouldn't end up looking like a zebra. I think with these techniques I should be able to paint a tree that doesn't look like it belongs in a zoo. I always learn so much from your wise words. 😊🖌

    You are right it looks great with the torn paper. I really hate throwing stuff away. So I am going to try to torture myself and try doing this with out the masking type :). I really enjoyed this tutorial. Trying to make my paintings look 3D is a challenge. The colors and your simple perspective comments were super helpful without being overwhelming. Thank you! Very informative and helpful.

    I’m definitely glad to see how to use the mask tape correctly. I put it down wrong by pressing it down completely then leaving it on over a couple of days. 😬 I am going to give birch trees a try again after watching the way you did it. I tried painting the strips with just a brush & no masking tape or fluid/frisket. I did not like how the results were that way. This way looks like it gives much better results like you’ve shown. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Ignore the negatives, they are not at your level. They have a ways to go before they can understand. Merci beaucoup wonderful teacher!

    This was so fun to watch. You are a wonderful teacher. I know one of the most important things I am learning as I try to develop my watercolor skills is that patience is paramount. How long did it take to paint these beautiful birch trees?

      It's really hard to say with stopping and starting. Whole thing less than three hours. Bear in mind that one of my full paintings would take 15-40 hours.

    Love this painting activity, but I am wondering about the few spots where there was seepage into the blue area from the branches. How do you handle that?

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  2 роки тому

      As soon as they happen I blot, with a piece of folded paper. Then I usually just cover them with one of the dark branches, or leave them, lots of flaky bark and leaves around trees.

    Oh, what a waste of time. You could just paint those little marks with your paint brush... Nah, just kidding. I'm past the 22:36 mark and I had to do the joke. These marks feel much more natural your way. It also gave me more confidence to try that technique in my own paintings... :)
