I remember 50 years ago a friend returning to the UK with a Chinese dizi, using a cigarette paper membrane. Recently I begged a Yamaha flute headjoint from a repairer friend and drilled an 8mm hole right on the Yamaha tm. Using the onion skin membrane I find that the sound comes through better after the membrane has been on for a while AND the sound is very much embouchure dependent. NB When a flute is junked it is almost never because of the headjoint - so there's a lot of fully functional headjoints out there looking for a new purpose in life.
Naveen ji what happens if you just put a hole in middle of blowing hole and first finger hole. And then put a membrane on. Does it turn ordinary bansuri into dizi (chinese flute). How will it sound with an E bass bansuri have you ever tried?

@@raviv4448 the flute that i currently use doesn't produce chilling sound as his one. The local shop guys are saying that those are professional class flute and may cost ₹100000. i am confused but i need one professional class flute. Can you help me?

It's called as, Dizzi Chinese Bamboo flute. Just cover the membrane hole with clear tape will do. :)
