It's so important to know this!
My papillon passed from cancer two years ago, and I wish I had known about this then. She was always such a happy, spunky girl, and then suddenly one day she wasn't. 😢 It was so hard knowing she had been sick without us realizing. I'm definitely going to get this for my remaining dog so I can keep a closer eye on her health.
😢
It’s been a year now my Saylor, passed due to cancer. She was only eight. Now the funny thing is that one of her littermates died of the same cancer six months prior. Apparently it was a very fast growing cancer. I opted for chemotherapy but she only survived about six months longer. Saylor was such a sweetheart and her tail never ever stopped wagging. I miss her something fierce. Once a Cavalier mom Always a Cavalier mom.❤❤❤
This is great information - prevention is always the key
Love that!!
My Saylor died of cancer six months ago. I am still devastated about this. She had some kind of squamous cell cancer in the throat area. I know of another Cavalier that was Saylor’s litter mate and she too died of the disease also. These dogs were not even 9 years old.
I believe the breeders should test the parents for this disease along with the other tests they take before conception. I commented on another breeders site but have not heard a reply on that. My breeder has passed herself and I don’t know any others.
I am so so sorry!!!❤
So informative and very helpful to all Cavalier owners………as well as other dogs. Thank you.
Happy to share this information!
I use a ladle to collect urine. The longer handle makes it easier to reach under and catch the urine when they go....
Hopefully I never have to do this again, lol.
I lost my first Cavalier to lymphoma at age 8. By the time I saw symptoms, it was too late. I can’t help but wonder what a difference early detection would have made.
😭😭😭 this confirms everything! I am so sorry.
Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
So interesting right! Never knew about this
