I was at THIS airshow, on my Bday in 2016. 1st time I had ever heard of or seen Rob Holland. I will be back in Pensacola on November 12th again this year but unfortunately Rob won't be there. But the BLUES will be 😁
Just went to the show in Jax this past weekend and I'd never heard of Rob. He's absolutely phenomenal and so were the Blue Angels. That's a bummer he won't be in Pensacola! I wonder why?!
Had the opportunity to fly with Rob in the Extra last year. Hory clap, WHAT a cool experience. Such a good dude, too. I never get tired of watching him fly...
Great video and thanks for posting! I've always wondered what it looked like from this perspective while going through the pictures I take at airshows. Would be interesting to see with an inset video of what it looks like from the outside at the same time.
Wow... Now I know the meaning of pure madness. Never thought this was possible. You really thouched the ground several times? You entered killing!!!! What manouvers. Loved this!!!!!!! You get this into another level! Pure MASTERY!!!! Wow, the best video!! The best pilot!!!! Where can I apply to take a ride??? I need this so bad :D :D :D
Just as Murray Poole i would love to hear the real sound, please Rob, upload a What i See and Hear" version of this video, it would be one of the coolest videos on UA-cam, still pretty awesome, but without music and real sound it would be even better.
A little "secret" insight: Rob probably has the music pumped through his headset during the show to help him coordinate the timing of his manoeuvres. It's probably not as loud in his headset as we hear it but it is most likely there nonetheless.
Awesome video!!! I really love that you can see Rob working the stick in many of the maneuvers. A couple quick questions that maybe someone could answer: 1. What does the red button on top of the stick do, and 2. What is the structure mounted near the tip of the left wing (and why isn't there one on the right wing)??? Any help would be appreciated.
1. The red button is likely to toggle his smoke system on/off. 2. That structure on his left wingtip is called a sighting device. It's used to set precise 45 degree and vertical lines. Most aerobatic pilots fly with only one on the left wing but some use two. Matter of personal preference.
Outstanding! Nobody better than Rob and has well deserved recognition. But..I would like a video that is called "What I see AND what I hear". Pretty tired of the rock music background by the end of the performance and tend to hit the mute button after awhile. But then..I love airplane noise! :-)
Is the prop trim on the throttle? Are you trimming during your routines? I fly large scale RC stunt planes and don't know much about this business. Wish I could afford an MXS. Very nice plane! Keep up the exemplary flying, stay safe and God be with you!
To legally operate the aircraft you'd need a private pilot certificate, 3rd class medical, tailwheel endorsement, and high performance endorsement. Overall, not much, but to fly it safely and well, that's a lot of time in the cockpit.
phxsundevil that's strange then. it's not available to watch on mobile for me. I'm in the UK. i can cast it to my TV, or watch on my laptop, just not my phone.

Very impressive. Man....Rob scoots right down to the deck on those pullouts!
Just coming across this. Still fun to watch even though it was six years ago.
My favorite music, my favorite pilot : AWESOME !
I think I saw myself on the tarmac!! Great show! Rob and Bill Stein were awesome!!
is it a real speed video , or is it an accelerated video ?
Waiting for my abs to relax, party of one..
Always love these videos. Your precision just amazes me. (Y)
Awesome!
Rob you are AWESOME brother!!! I enjoy your flight on Saturday at the Rome Georgia Airshow. 👍🏼
Nice flying Rob!! Have enjoyed your shows over the years.
Perfect. Exhilarating. Thank you.
One of the best onboard videos, keep those tumbles in the routine, can't wait to see you live at Greenwood lake in June. Keep the routine aggressive!
Wow at the end... that's one way to bleed off speed on a landing roll. Pop up and to a barrel roll. Then land

Great video and the music has been chosen very good for it !
Ha, the thing out on the wing tip is a protractor so he can line up the horizon with the vertical part so he knows he going straight up.
Extreme awesome! Great flying! I could almost feel the G's. Ten thumbs up!
excellent performance, great to watch ...

No, Awsome music track, adds to the experience.

Charlie Guenther prop trim?
I think Rob is from a different planet.
Awesome
unbelievable !!!!
What type of aircraft?
Just perfect ....
is it scichy ?
Does anyone know what pilot license you need to fly such aircrafts?

Looks good.
Love it
Ok. That was so cool that I want to fly with you.
Awesome.... and like the others have said, natural audio would be preferred! (or with a tiny bit of background music would be okay, I guess).
dude what plane is that
My two cents: Edge 540!
@@myZisfantasticthanks I will fly it in Microsoft flight simulator x
Idk if you will see this but the aircraft type in not an edge 540. The name of this aircraft is the MXS!@@codylowder
4 years later coming in clutch, thank you@@landonleavelle6082
this is intense
great video, but are you aware that you've prevented viewers from watching on mobile devices?
Steven Bakhtiari I'm watching on a mobile device...
phxsundevil that's strange then. it's not available to watch on mobile for me. I'm in the UK. i can cast it to my TV, or watch on my laptop, just not my phone.
Steven Bakhtiari I believe it's due to the music rights. another viewer in Germany had a similar issue.
I live in pensacola
I was there
No music, please! Regards from Brazil
#1 bad ass!
Teach me senpai !
Would even be cooler without music .. just engine sounds
Allô oui je sais pas si je vais me mettre à te demander si je vais te voir did DSK dduddydyddyw et je suis pas là
Thumbs down immediately; music, and not even likeable music. I am moving on now.
