Just in case anyone's interested, HBO has green lit a second season of "Julia"; no idea when that will premiere, but it's good news nonetheless.

i learned how to cook from JC by watching TV in Chicago as I slept on my sister’s couch as I looked for an apartment and a job. Amazing! Meat and potatoes became « cuisine ». Thank you Julia and Sister Mary.

I am 2 inches taller than my husband of 55 years. I wear heals 2-3 inches, as to compliment what I am wearing. He fell in love with me, and I with him, (very handsome GI) when he met me at my sisters. I was 18 he was 26. We married 6 months later. He has always told me that he is the proudest man in the room when with me. People are so judgemental, about height etc., get a life. Look how much Paul leved Julia! Why do people need to put things in a box? Hold to what? Men should be taller than wives? Happiness is all that matters. I have had it with my husband, 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

This is an Excellent bit of information! Went to a San Francisco Pride Parade 20 years or more ago. We were supporting our dear friends. It was a blast. And so great to see the times changing. Hope the balance stays where it belongs. Keeping the 'Human' in Humanity . If everyone would just Do Unto Others... Aloha

That was the EPITOME of personal drive in that era. If they were teased for “being less than” they worked harder and had determination to succeed. Unlike today, when people feel “less than” they turn to social media, cry, and expect a lot of empathy and never attempt to better theirselves because the focus today is on YOUR RESPONSE to them, not their own personal drive and successes.

If the goal for women attending college back in the 20s 30s and 40s was to bag a husband, why did they have all female colleges?
