A few months ago I bought a dumb dehumidifier and made it smart with a D1 Mini with ESPhome. Fun little project and saved me quite a dime. But for the ones that do not like to solder a few wires the dehumidifier in this video seems to be a good option.
Can you change the threshold of the auto mode, I feel like it's a bit to ambitious targeting 45% and would run a lot. Id much rather just aim for 50 or 55%
Just bought this and had it setup in HA in under 5 mins from unboxing! I’ve noticed the humidity % it gives is reporting 8% lower than my nest and Govee thermometer though.
Thanks for this (other) great video! I've just order the same device... convinced :) Have you after made a subsequent video to integrate the "Inventor" (nice name, btw) to your other appliances / sensors? And... just a question: if I would like to add a condition (=start only if) to run the dehumidifier only with window closed... what window sensor would you recommend? Possibly not an "energy consuming" wifi one, but a zigbee/other tec one... (considering that at home I already have the Hue bridge, an HomePod, several Alexa's with zigbee... but never used those devices for controlling other brands zigbee devices). Super thanks!
Hi everybody. I got the same error as it happen for Mark at 7:59 of the video. When i hit Ctrl + f5 as suggest by Mark it only return me on the integration page. is it still not install (or asking me user and pass). i delete manually all the cache of my edge browser, retry and still at the same place. Someone can help me please ? Thanks in advance :-)
Hi, I bought the EVA Ion Pro Wifi dehumidifier but it uses the Inventor Control application and it doesn't work with Midea Air Appliances (LAN). I was able with LOCALTUYA to integrate the entities "power, temp_indoor, humidity_indoor, dehumidify_set_value" but I can't integrate "fan_speed_enum" and "mode". Do you know how I have to configure LOCALTUYA to integrate them ??? Thank you.
Hey Andrea. I think some models have Tuya and some don’t. And I think it’s region specific. The one I have has no Tuya cloud so is fully local. Unfortunately as I don’t have that one im not able to tinker and find out how to add it.
For WiFi version with Tuyu, you can use "tuya-local" integration instead for easy setup all features. They have a mapping template specific to this dehumidifier with WiFi version. Just click and click and done.
Thank you :) There seems to be a few models of this unit. If you do get one Be sure to get the INVmate II one, as the other one is Tuya based with no local control.
I have the EVA II PRO WIFI and I have seen this repository when it started but I still use the first one that came out that is cloud based (by Barbaresi). I was about to try it this weekend and your video came up. The timing man, the timing.... just perfect. Does it create a climate entity like the other repository or not ?
I find the integration by Barban is getting problematic as time passes. It's not been updated in almost a year now and has constant errors in the logs that had to filter out. On the other hand this one is really new, comes with a componanion custom card for lovelace and is also lcoal
@@thanasisbethanis I know. I was waiting for this to become more stable before I move on. So I am about to. 😉. There is also the thing that both of them do not work well, at least that is what I had read, that is why I gave it some time to test it.
I just bought the cheaper version (Inventor Rise 8L Desiccant Dehumidifier with Ioniser) - without WiFi or BT - but I am going to make it fully controllable from HA using ESP32 ;-) No clouds no nothing of course ;-)
Unfortunately it doesn't work on mine. Mine has a tuya chip in it so I can't connect it to the same app. And as a result it can't connect to Midea lan intergration.
I’ve been using it less in the summer months but have started using it a lot again in the recent rainy weeks. It’s still working great. I have a few automations based on room humidity to get it to automatically turn on, and it also turns on when the tumble dryer comes on, then goes off an hour after it finishes. My only gripe with this so far is that the hose you get with it is pathetically short.
It does not work with the Inventor Athmosphere XL . The inventor app looks way different as I saw in your video and the integration do want some other app.
Same issue here, but it turns out the version I just purchased is running Tuya not Midea. This should be obvious if when you connect the Inventor app the WiFi of the device is named SmartLife. I set the device up using the Tuya SmartLife App and then the Tuya Home Assistant integration found it. Haven't played around with Local Tuya yet. Also annoyingly when using the SmartLife App on the phone the names of various controls aren't correct. In my case it would be controlled by Home Assistant anyway, so not an issue.
My old one just died after 25 years so this video is perfect timing, cheers👍

Totally agree. I did something similar with one of the smaller Probreeze units. However it was no match for the washer and dryer 🤣
I would love more info on this! My dehumidifier sensor died, so I'm planning to use esphome to get it working again.

I got an electriq one and flashed it with tasmota. It's pretty tight.

Is the cloud app needed only to obtain Tocken and Id? shall be disabled after HA has been configured?

Andrea, did you get the mode and fan speed working with local tuya?

Quality video! I’m going to be interested with this one, also as we draw closer to summer for an AC unit that is HA compatible
Hey there, is this casting feature available for a tablet?
Another good video - The humidity values are high in the bungalow may invest in this one :)
Thank you :)

@@MarkWattTech TIP: When it will make tremble noises just remove the plastic top cover of the tank and the handle. ;)

The custom integration lists compatible models. I think there also may be 2 versions of the inventor app. The one I showed is the new one (INVmate II)
I cannot login with my invertor logins

Did you have a bet with a mate that you could get the phrase "rubber bung" into a video about smart home technology?
Brilliant machine. The Air filter puts me off. Would have been better if you could just clean it
Im totally against this cloud based shiat. Just changed my dehumidifier from tuya to tasmota :)
