Bro I grew up on the south side 79th street well “the 9”. I’ll be the first to say that the income problem is terrible, also when a liquor store is out on every corner doesn’t help. As a black man we do have to do better in our communities and stop making excuses about our neighborhoods. Thanks for doing this and giving some positivity to the neighborhood

Ppl get killed for nothing, last year there was a group of teens running around and they would hit the back of your car at a light and when you got out your car they would shoot you and take your shit or earlier this year a guy in South baltimore shot his pregnant girlfriend then shot the 3 yr old girl in the back seat. It's wild out this bitch

yeah thats wild, what a alien idea from where i live in canada, you get in trouble for everything, they're lane splitting white doing wheelies, riding on the side walk, riding in bike lanes, riding into the middle of intersections on reds, fucking insane, its like GTA< but i guess the cops have so much to deal with it makes sense that they don't give a fuck about little things.

Also u see the horrible roads. Brian forgot to mention Chicago has 3rd highest tax rate in the country and more tollways than any state surrounding. Yet they are turning decades old roads into more tollways (Elgin o'hare expressway is now T390, talking about adding more tolls to I80). JB Prickster just added $.30 tax to every gallon of gas.
All this and were still broke. At some point the citizens will become rich from paying taxes somehow ?!?!

Great way to document Chicago. I got to live there in 1973-9 and it was awesome. I lived in Hancock Center and started a Guitar Shop in Lincolnwood then moving down to Orland Park and working in Palos Music in Palos Hts. Pretty good for a kid from Denver. I was blown away at the amount of pretty girls.

#1 rule while in the southside and i know this cuz im from here. dont go to the gas station without a gun. #2 do not get caught up in summ that u dont have to be a part of like when they were fighting and u drove next to them. #3 dont go on the southside without a gun. #4 dont pull out any money when someone asks cuz they will prob rob yo ass #5 be very very VERY aware of your surrondings thats the most important and no its not uncommon for fights and shootings to happen in broad day

8:20 there is a lot of positivity in Chicago the city is mainly positive but it’s a lot of negative things and so negatives always out weight the positives but there are millions of fun and positive things to do in the city
My first job driving semi trucks was doing deliveries to the west & south sides of Chicago. Lol I know every block I saw you ride through and he wasnt exaggerating on those areas being no joke.
I saw 2 people get shot in the same week my last month with that company haha
I dont think those areas will ever make the turn around the north side neighborhoods did in my lifetime

Watching the riding reminds me of the fun I had playing with guns as a kid! I grew up in the Austin district (5700 W. Huron) in Chicago. Nowadays you can take care of business in many places of Chicago but the unwritten rule is “be out by 3:00pm or before dark”. Smart of you two to mess around at sun up.
Also, never open a wallet when someone comes up to you. Rookie mistake for sure.
Before you screw around too much “in the Hood”, drop by one of the hospitals some end up at. Unless you have a gun shot wound....good luck. For some reason, obvious to some, not a lot of highly skilled and qualified medical staff (doctors & nurses) choose certain hospitals.

I’m from Chicago, and I miss it honestly. Joined the army but when I get my leave I can’t wait to go back. If you ever go back... check our lower wacker on Saturday nights or “Mexico”...if you see a line of cars about 200 deep follow em lol...and Whole Foods at the end of 290 has an awesome view for photos by the train yard.
