We have two of these they make every other snowmobile feel like a kid's toy Polaris has outdone themselves again I guess that's why they lead in all Motorsports
ended up purchasing one in part from your video.. 650. awesome machine thanks again for your video was very informative hope to be able take the same route I live south end Mount carroll said you went through Milledgeville where my shop is.
I got an 850 matrix in February and it blows away every thing on the trails, love the acceleration, handling, snowchecked an evo for the wife can't wait for 2022!!!
I haven't rode in 20 years since I broke my arm ditch banging a 99 polaris xcsp haha. I'd like to get back into it but it hardly ever snows around here anymore
Just got one on Wednesday and I love it. I’m smaller at 5’6” and 120lbs and I find the matryx much more comfortable. I went with the 650 and am blown away by the power although the sled doesn’t have much rider mass to accelerate 😂
I like my s.b. xcr 800...but I must admit that I'm super curious about the vr1 136/7 ..im 6'4" and 275 and a bit skeptical about bottoming out...unfortunately i have to ride on the weekend and trails are moguled up...hopefully tomorrow we'll see a new matrix xcr!
6'4 rider and while i would have liked the matryx seat to be an inch higher and harder I loved the sled. the narrowness was noticeable and more playful than an axys XC850 i also rode with that day although the axys cornered flatter IMO. I'll be selling my Pro S and spring ordering a VR1 850 137 for 22.
@@TheChadColby watch the front spring on the right side just before you take off it wobbles. When you gave the sled throttle it lifted the front up just a little bit an took enough weight off that spring. Just a needs to be set right is all. Beautiful Sled by the way and thanks for the making the video.
How wide is that new headlight beam. Its a projector lens type, compared to the axys reflector. Projector lights usually have a far more narrow beam pattern. I really like the axys led headlight because its wide low beam. When you're out on really twisty trails, I want to see what's around the corner. I ended up tearing apart / building my own high power 8 inch light bar that i stuck onto my handlebars for this reason on my axys.
This light really spreads the light wide, wow was I impressed with that. I will make another video soon showing that. from Polaris "This new headlight brings state of the art lighting technology to Polaris riders. Six projector beam optics deliver precision lighting with an engineered pattern to deliver exceptional visibility for night riding".
@@TheChadColby im wondering what Led chips they are using in the matrx. I know the axys used Philips lumled zes chips with a 5700k color temp till 2018, when they switched to a warmer 5000K.
I’ve had a few Polaris over the years. Thinking of grabbing a spring order this year. Let’s see what they have to offer. Currently on a Blizzard 850. Just pooped out a belt at a hundred on the lake. Not happy about that. Love the Linq system and I’m curious about the Polaris iteration.
Completely new rider position, engine location.... feels completely different. Have you had a chance to ride one? I wouldn't have believed it myself unless I rode it.

I ordered a 2022 Polaris xcr 850
Congrats.

Im a tall guy 6'5" and 60 .I am looking at a 2021 xcr 600 switchback 136 . would that make a good groomed trail sled ?Thank you for your Time.Terry

Completely agree, for 130's HP machine it really hauls.
That roger skime limited edition will sell for more later on in life then them polaris sleds
I think I'll stick to my 2010 Yamaha nytro XTX
Ha ha ha
between your 137, do you look back and ponder the 129? maybe even the 129 with the taller lug?
I have a XCR Switchback 800 and love it can't wait to try out a VR1 Matryx 850 to compare
honest x3 guys with late model 800's all agreed they like this better. I just bought a 650 and they also said it will easily out run their 800's.
@@TheChadColby well you'll have to line em up...I doubt it will out run a 800 the 800 still has atleast 20 more horsepower over a 650

Agree, playful is a great way to say it!
Great review thanks. 👍👍
thanks
Great video! I really enjoyed it. I am on my second axys chassis and I’m just approaching 5000 miles. I am between another axys or the matrix.
chad colby? arent we suppose to be talking about grain markets and fertilizer prices? ! nice review!
lol, thanks!
So far I don’t believe they make a rack and saddle bag combo for these sleds. They need to do that and I’ll get one.
Chad- can I ask what size and model shaper bars you installed?
6" bars last season, depends on the ski and studs for me.
How is the 850 on fuel. I'm trying to decide on 650 or 850
the 650 made me consider going back to as it works well in the normal 40-70 range. really a nice motor.
after riding both, 650 was my decision for 2022
spring loose? 6:18
Actually my friend didn't notice it until I rode it, his rear shock was blown.

Is that brake lever travel really a huge deal ? Lol
It’s a noticeable difference
No it isn’t. Unless your racing like this guy use too.
@@fnatomagan I would definitely disagree, especially if you have smaller hands. The “throw” is reduced, like other manufacturers have done.
Its not a new chassis. New plastics🤦🏻♂️

Way better than the axis and skidoo I’m 6;3 265 and it feels great . Wish it was a little faster at top speed to beat the skidoo lol but there close.
Have y’all ever herd of a mistake Jesus it was a great video don’t be a jerk
